I always thought it made for a dramatic slow motion sequence just had to be sure you lined up your jump right and it was epic i learned to like it haha
I remember years after playing this and being introduced to minecraft. First thing I see is a ghast. It fires a fireball at me and I was like "hmmm 😊" I hit the fireball and we all know it can be deflected back to kill the ghast. Soon as I got the send back to sender achievement I was like " I see what you did there Notch, thank you for the link to the past reference. Wink" lol

Ganon is too lit up in this version. In the N64 version, he was concealed in darkness. And you can only see his eyes and swords as he walks menacingly towards you. Occasionally, the lightning will also illuminate him but only for a brief moment. Made for a better gameplay experience imo.
💯. The animation was better on N64 too. The final roar before the fight begins looks feral and raw on N64, it makes the remake just look silly in comparison
The best part was wondering what on earth you were fighting. You never saw Ganon's face until right before the final blow. At that point, I was wondering what on earth happened to him
@novakd1530 It served the atmosphere, and the atmosphere is honestly the great problem of the 3DS remaster, because originally Ocarina of Time tends to pours in mystery (the mist in the well of the Forest Temple and the darkness in its hall and hallways) and dark fantasy.
He did do quite well. I don’t know how I would do if I replayed this as it’s been years and I’ve been in that situation getting my azz handed to me in the 2nd half of the final fight. Especially when I effed around too much. I’m trying to remember, can you stun Ganon with the light arrows in his final form but you need to time it to shoot him in the face so he’s stunned long enough to hit his tail.
I always came equipped for the final showdown with ganon. When i would get the mastersword knocked away, big gorons sword was up to bat. I would never use it at all until that fight. Incredibly effective

You know that if you die and reach zero life points and you have a life fairy in your inventory. It automatically revives you without having to manually select it
So while you can shoot ganondorf with a light arrow while he does that charge attack in his normal form, you can charge a spin attack and knock all the orbs back at him for the same effect. I think it looks pretty cool when you do it
This has to be the best remake of TLOZ OoT that I have ever come across on UA-cam. The details, slightly different but not strained too far off give an amazing comparison to the original. Down to the sounds, music, and voice cues. It's overall AMAZING. Best I've seen so far, hands down. Much props to you.

@banehayat7342 I went back and watched some early game play videos on here and I must have brain damage because the game is largely unfamiliar to me. I remember a few random dungeons and some of the ocarina songs still.
Looks like to me that you might have not actually played through it all the way through. Maybe only got to the forest temple or confusing it for another zelda game.
I see some people said its too bright during the fight with Ganon, maybe so... but isn't there supposed to be a bit of haze and (Rain?) i could be just imagining but those three things would have made it just right.

It's not the Biggoron Sword, it's the Knife Blade. You get it from the younger large Goron in Goron City. This one breaks within 4-5 slashes though, whereas the Biggoron's Sword is invincible.
Yea this HDpack for Citrus is the best, also the PC port now has HD packs but it does not look as good as this does, however the fps can go past 60 in the PC port. You really cant go wrong with either of the two.

I played it through with Master sword, no shield and didnt pick up any heart container without dying just to add some challenge must have gone through the game a good hundred times haha and did water temple for my neighbor every time he played through

Ganondorf spookily playing the organ had me weak 😂 best villain fight intro. Link being called Lucas threw me off. Zelda being a door opener all of a sudden was so funny lol and then on the way out, when she really put up that protection wall and left Link out there to fight for himself 😂 you can open gates and seal darkness but stal monsters is where she draws the line lmao
It may not be as pretty as it used to be during its time, but highly recommend playing this game for yourself. Still the best zelda game after 25 years. Must say BOTW is up there with it but I don't think anyone will say the same thing about BOTW in 25 years. Who knows.
The music of Oot is etched in my mind. Botw is a great game and Oot is a great game relative to it's time. Majora's Mask is another special one. Hell all the Zelda games are interesting in their own right 😅

....... Is it just me or are there several widely known strats that are not even being used in this fight? Why are you not charging your spin attack to reflect his black magic multi-ball attack? Why are you popping open your fairy bottles, Lucas? The work automatically when you take your last hit? Why are you standing toe to toe with the pig Ganon when you could light arrow him to the face when you're caught in front of him?
I’ve beaten OOT countless times since 98, on N64 and 3DS, I never knew Ganondorf had that bigger attack, always had him beat before he used it clearly. Usually you can clear him after a couple of rallies, especially with Biggorons sword and jump attacks

There is a Wii U port based off of the PC decompilation that runs great and is customizable. You could probably install a mod that makes it look like the 3DS version from Gamebanana
