- In this Oaxaca Mexico Travel Guide video, we’re exploring the ancient ruins in Oaxaca. Monte Albán is one of Mexico’s most significant and well-preserved archaeological sites, with over 1,500 years of history. Join us as we discover the rich cultural heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing its stunning views and historical significance. We also uncover a hidden gem that turns out to be a highlight of our trip: El Picacho hike in Teotitlán del Valle, recommended by a local. The hike offers epic panoramic views, making it a perfect complement to your Oaxaca adventure. In our opinion both Monte Albán and El Picacho are must-see spots for anyone visiting Oaxaca City.

Thank you! Cheers!
loved your video
Thanks so much !
I have been there before too! Very beautiful!
We loved it!! So impressive.
Great shots with the drone. I’d have been scared of the cow too
Thanks! We had quite the staring contest before Daniel stepped in. 🤣 He is still making fun of me for saying to it “thank you & sorry for disrupting your peace”. Living proof of the Canadian stereotype 🤣
You can see all the valley from there.
The views are incredible !
Is oaxca safe right now even with the uptick in violence lately?
Are you referring to the violence in Mazatlan Sinaloa in January following the arrests ? Oaxaca city is an 18 hour drive from there so that did not impact us. Oaxaca is one of the safest places to visit in Mexico with over 1 million visitors annually. We always felt very safe the entire month we were travelling in Oaxaca state and in general all the times we’ve travelled in Mexico we’ve felt safe and highly recommend people to visit.
