This would be great on the farm in the field. You wouldn't have to back to the barn or workshop to fix something easy in the feild next to what needs fixing .
Those slots on the base are for bolts. Using those straight into your benchtop probably would've been a better option than installing a hitch. If you did it so it could be more hotswappable, I feel like just taking the bolts out wouldn't be that time consuming, especially with an impact around. This was a very creative solution though!
Thank you! And agreed 100%. The vise is a little sloppy in the vise, but it’s actually been working really well. And being able to go straight to my truck with it is nice. I would like to have a slightly heavier duty vise that it mounted solid at some point though.
@@MrJustinWheeler it sounds corny recommending harbor freight again, but their Doyle 6” bench top vise is a great option. Right now it’s going for around $240, weighs 60 ish pounds and is a beast! Not to self promo or anything but I use it in the videos that I make and on Timelapse you never see the piece moving, ever. Even under heavy filing and hammering.
Glad to see the Deko come through again! Would you say this vice is worth it compared to just welding up a plate and a hitch insert, and then simply bolting some other (better?) vice to the plate? Basically a hitch step with some holes to bolt on a vice?
I’d say if you already have a vise, just building a hitch attachment would be the way to go. But for the price, I’m happy with the purchase. Most bench mount versions that are better quality are also going to be a bit more expensive. This one will get the job done most of the time.
I don't know about the vise, I feel grinding stuff held in that would wreck the trucks paint pretty fast. On the other hand, sweet plate on the truck :)
not willing to pay a hundred dollars for that 40 to 65 would be the absolute max id be willing to pay for that not mention it would extremely annoying having to swap that thing out for a hitch when you need to haul a trailer

Looking forward to seeing these on the road!
I park my tractor in garage and have a hitch for the 3pt. So I can get some extra height that way.
nice, i wonder if you could tap and weld tscrews to the female part to take up the play for the work bench
12:10 Having already exhausted the tightening capabilities of the industrial crocs, that's where ya club the vice handle with the pipe wrench. 🤣
Lol fantastic suggestion 😂

Hows it holding up?

Definitely going to work better on the future s10 flatbed. But I’ve used the vise a lot and it’s holding up great.
@@MrJustinWheeler ah, a work truck makes sense 👍
I need to get me one of these. Does it have enough adjustment to fit the receiver of a man’s truck?
Lol you’ll have to use a 2” adapter. But I’ve heard 2” hardware is no problem for you. 🤣🤣
@@MrJustinWheeler lmao
The truck is in neutral that's not much of a test I mean I can push a truck in neutral
