@JGR4LIFE Smoke would have won the championship even under the old points format. And it wouldn't have been close, he would have won by over 200 points.
I remember watching Biffle in 05 and how good he was that year. Seemed like every other race he was winning. He was so close to winning the championship both he and Stewart both won 6 races and Stewart ended up taking the cup. Biff always stood out to me after that year.

Yeah, back then there was no social media and you only heard form the popular drivers. Boris would have beat the crap out of Greg if he ever got his hands on him. That was a bitter altercation, the kind we don't see anymore.
One of my favorite quotes… EVER. 😂 I was a Sterling fan, but Biff was also one of my favorite drivers. Those years were absolutely the peak of the post 1980 NASCAR era.
@@stevelacker358 90s Nascar was the best. I started watching in 89 when I was 7. Went to every Richmond race from 91-98. I remember the first race in 91, Harry Gant was Mr September that year and my dad won $150 in the pool. What a blast.
I love Biff’s explanation of the Boris Said fight. Paints the whole picture as to what happen. I remember Jimmy Spencer gave Boris Said the crying towel for that 😂
Biffle. 🙄 Back in the day of the old Dale Jr fansite, I wrote the stupidest articles called "Whiner of The Week" and I remember once calling him Greg "Sniffle". Got an e-mail from his PR manager busting my chops about it. 🤣
That Watkins Glen 2011 finish always irked me. To fact-check Greg, David Ragan didn't flip, but he was turned into the guardrail and hit hard enough to bend the wall, slamming into David Reutimann and Reutimann flipped over and slammed the guardrail again, while Ragan hit the wall 2 or 3 more times just about as hard as the first impact and collecting a few more cars. What bothered me is that they took really hard hits, a car flipped, and they all landed in the middle of the track, NASCAR doesn't throw the yellow. Tony Stewart gets a little sideways in the bus stop and spins OFF the track, but NASCAR throws the yellow for that. And I grew up a Stewart fan, so I'm not bagging on NASCAR for waiting on someone "more prominent" to spin or something, I'm mad that a horrific crash happened well beforehand and they didn't throw the yellow until some harmless little nothing happened 10 seconds after. And don't give me that "oh that was behind the leaders they were out of the way" crap because at that point the safety of the drivers involved in that wreck should've been the top priority (thankfully they were all okay but still)
It's the final lap and the leaders are not going to come back to the wreck at speed, and there's no fire, so that gives NASCAR some leeway there, so I like to imagine they waited it out whether the window net came down or nah; these days, I think the yellow would come out a little sooner on that wicked wreck. (In the event, Reutimann still climbed out of the car before safety workers arrived...)
I mean Tony Stewart's wreck was in the field, and the turn 2 incident wasn't NASCAR was going to throw the yellow but waited to see if Keselowski had a run on Ambrose. Coming out of the last turn they would've thrown the caution. Regardless if you watch the footage, responders were in action in turn 3 before the yellow was out anyway. That's a good indicator they were going to throw the caution.
Oh my God 😂 Biffle actually said he would’ve uppercutted Harvick and KO’ed him. HE ACTUALLY SAID THAT. That’s the funniest thing I think I’ve ever heard him say
Despite everything Junior accomplished as a driver i feel Dirty Mo Media, this podcast, and letting Kelley run JR Motorsports will be his greatest legacy. Dale Sr. would be so proud of Junior and Kelley.
Greg says that he is looking at things from the drivers standpoint, to me, listening to this interview, he would be perfect from the management side of a NASCAR operation today. I always thought that he was (just a driver) but he knows way more about how everything else could and should work than I ever gave him credit for. He would be a huge asset to some team from a non driver standpoint today.
I was at that Bristol spring race in 2002 when Harv jumped over Biff's car, this was the Busch race with a nearly packed house, the place went crazy! Then the next day was the Cup race when Kurt got passed clean by Spencer, then ran him over the next lap.
The Texas 500 mile race 🏁 Biffle won no cautions 2hrs 20 minutes. I was very happy to see the 16 win. It's a far back pure old school racing. To see Roush racing unravel like it did It's still is hard to fathom.
I did an interview with Biffle when he did "Breakfast with Biff" at Phoenix. Never got the impression he was the fighting type. But then again he is only about 5'5" and it always seem the short ones are fisty.
Wish there were more drivers like Greg Biffle today. You got Kevin Harvick and that's about it. Nobody at Hendrick today is going do any of these types of things. Even Chastain apologizes for things he does intentionally and then acts like he deserves the crazy blocking retaliation from Hamlin, who is another one who will wreck ppl then get out and do the big lie. Chastain should have hooked him. There just isn't much fighting spirit left in NASCAR, I miss those days. Great interview.
I met Boris and his family at 2007 at an special event for his sponsor and they were the nicest people on the planet. The guy had a full schedule the rest of the day but stayed another 20min till my son could get there to meet him.l
Only thing I would think of to make this better would be to have a bunch of drivers that had beef with each other in the past in the studio at the same time and rehashing all of ther issues perhaps it would be a pay per view type of event but could also be comedic as to how much time has passed and as to how many have already talked things out...perhaps ot would give us all the real reasons that started some of the conflicts and confusion in the first place.
I'd still like to see Biffle and Newman have the opportunity to drive competitive equipment in the cup series. I think they could still get it done. Buescher is great driver and it's great to see him get a legit win but Newman pretty consistently outperformed him. I can't help but feel Newman got the short end of the stick when Keselowski joined Roush. I think people forget how good he was (and still is) back in the day.
Used to visit 'Biffles Bar & Grill' often in the early 2000s in Vancouver Washington when I lived there. Greg would come in occasionally on the off season, not very approachable but not really arrogant either. Just kinda keeps to himself with a few close friends.

Just lack of patience, he done the same thing to Gordon last year" Then there was Boris, there was one with Jimmie once. But I always pulled for Biffle, as well as Kasey Kahne and Derrike Cope, because were from the PNW
the reason Said turned Ragan was because Ragan had dumped him coming out of turn 1 earlier in the race which is how Boris ended up a lap down. It wasn't "for no reason" as Biffle claimed, it was payback.
We had to race against the Sauters at Grundy county speedway and they ALWAYS got away with cheating because the were part time NASCAR! I tried to beat up Johnny cuz they basically brought a Busch car one Friday night n lapped the whole field.
Glad y’all got biffle on. Truly one of the most underrated drivers of the 2000s
