Beautiful stage presence, to say nothing of his gorgeous voice!
This version of O cessate de piagarmi, though it may not be during Jose Carreras's peak, is in my opinion the absolutely most beautiful emotive, distinguished, polished, and artistic delivery I have every heard, he truly feels the music and it shows, I don't even like this song, but after hearing him, I found a passion for this song.
I'm singing this song now with my vocal teacher. Absolutely beautiful song. Even the light fixtures at 3:33 are smiling!

@Serinia4melodic Alto is used in choral music only. Contralto is the term used for the lowest female voice in operatic singing. Check out CAMI's webpage or other artistist management webpage. You will see contraltos listed (they are quite rare) but never will you see a singer billed as an alto in operatic or classical repertoire. Look up Marian Anderson, Ernestine Schumann Heink, Dame Clara Butt, Ewa Podles. All billed as contraltos, none billed as the choral term alto.

@pokemon1234567 He is not a choral singer. He is an operatic tenor. It classical singing the terms are Soprano, Mezzo Soprano, Contralto, Tenor, Baritone and Bass. Alto is a choral term never used is operatic singing.

0:51 PIE-TA los dos deben ser LA#? es que en esa parte no distingo bien. Aun no soy muy bueno leyendo partituras así que lo voy escuchando y colocando en una escala de piano (fl studio) para después con calma escribirlo en pentagramas.

PlatonicEnigma for tenors it’s scored for g minor. I don’t have absolute pitch but I’m pretty sure he’s singing it in that key.

Serinia4melodic I think you need to do your research. What is your source?! There is NO voice type as Alto. Mezzos and Contraltos would sing the Alto part in choral singing. Contralto is the darkest/lowest female part in opera. My sources? Look up The Structure of Singing by Miller, anything by Garcia or Oren Brown...all distinguished vocal pedagogues. Also look at CAMI's web page, no singer identifies as an "alto". Again, most who sing the Alto part are contraltos, and the rare contralto would sing there too if she did choral music. Please do your research before posting.

This has always been a confusion since I started studying music.
I always heard "altos" for low female voices before learning the "official" contraltos label.
Truth is that it depends where you are, in Italy they call "contraltos" "alti". (www.cosmovisions.com/contralto.htm, in french)
On wikipedia, they argue that the voice type "alto" refers to "contraltos singing with head voice" (fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alto_(voix) french again !), source being the dictionary.
Limo Von Limo There is no opera singer or classically trained singer who identifies as "alto". The sources I mentioned above are credible (primary sources if you must) as well as the singers who sing these parts. Wikipedia is hardly a credible source compared to the experts I named.
