Those guys from RX Bandits really are technical masters that are so under-appreciated in today's music scene. Nice subtle time signature changes going on with purpose.
can't stress enough how good those guys are A lot of the time I feel like my championing of how amazing they are comes off fanboyish, and I can't convince people to check them out. Favorite band ever.
I think remember once reading something or hearing something from Matt saying they always end up back together bc they’re the only other ppl who get each other on that music level that they can play with other ppl but they just can’t vibe the same way as with each other.....one more thing. Can someone please explain why these guys seam to rotate in and out(except cgak) from TSOAF?? Is it like, they’re all in it together but just do the instruments instead of any vocals??.......cgak forever!!!!!!!!
@@Justsomefatguy i think only the singers rotated, and it was more Craig Owens just being on the first album while Anthony Green has been on all of them. 26:56-26:18 Anthony singing “Is this a sign of the end? Are we losing him?” I’ve been coming back to this performance for the past 3 years anytime I’ve needed strength to keep making music, and by way of that, keep living. My interpretation since the first time I saw this, Anthony/Rx Bandits/Craig/everyone involved just exude this feeling of “wouldn’t that be really sad if we had given in and completely lost to depression or addictions a long time ago? Well it doesn’t have to end like that, you don’t have to end like that. Here’s a reminder of just one reason why it’s better to be alive”. And that feeling they imparted just has really stuck with me. Just beautiful music you guys ❤️

I had this on dvd 2009, made all of my friends watch it and we all agree one of the coolest, and well produced live performances. Introduced me to, Rx, chiodos, Finch.days away, good old war... I was already a Circa fan. Dream team band.!
Being a huge Rx Bandits fan, I really appreciate Matt Embree in the role of lead guitarist rather than singer/rhythm guitarist. He is such an amazing musician to mastermind this sound and his shredding is not only impeccable, but perfectly flows with the crazy-fast rhythms. All of the members of Rx Bandits really make TSOAF awesome, and combine them with a vocal talent like Anthony Green and you get some amazing music.
Matt played a solo show at a small bar in Alaska a few years ago. Actually right after the TSOAF reunion tour. I got to chat with him before his set and he was a super nice guy. Asked if I had any song requests, which I said yes please play “only for the night”. And uh… yea it was awesome.
When I watched this dvd I was tripping on mescaline and it was unfathomably beautiful to listen to and observe. After the performance my friend and I went outside to the moonlit backyard for a cigarette. The trees swayed in motions that were exaggerated than a normal gust of wind to their branches; yet it felt so serene. My pal and I joked and conversed for a while before retreating to his room where I slumbered on the bed next to him. We stayed awake, with a pillow barrier lol, (9th grade mentality), and watched his ceiling fan rotate. The next morning was a school day and the big hand of the clock was rounding towards the 4. Nevertheless, that morning was a rough one; even with a shower. Regardless of our “hungover” condition, my friend and I went to school and had the most lethargic day. TLDR; TSOAF is the fucking shit

I completely agree. I've tried listening to Circa Survive but I just can't get into it. It's not necessarily that his singing is bad, I think it's that the high pitched vocals get to me.

Yeah there is no competition, Anthony Green is a god and I say that as someone who loved Craig so much more. Craig can’t hit half the notes that he hits on albums live. He’s a good performer but almost every high note in every song he holds the mic out for the crowd to sing.
Craig needs to learn to not buy little teenage girl shirts. Also, he was absolutely horrible in the live version of chasing sun's, which is probably why he wasn't invited back for their second and third tour. He also walks like a model with cerebal palsey on stage when coming to his mic to sing and Anthony Green was giving the "wtf are you on mate" look.
