Hello , just came upon your channel. I am 60 yrs old. Learned knitting from my mother and grandmother when I was a kid , I have picked it up off and on ever since just enjoy it and making stuff. Your channel is a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to more videos and seeing what you do for you make nine. Happy knitting
Thanks for watching. Glad to have you here. I did finish that 2x2 hat already, so that will be in the next one. I also may have purchased some yarn for other projects in the meantime.
Oh my goodness. You popped into my feed. I thought let’s see. When you put your hooded scarf over your head and had a Mary moment, I actually snorted. But the slutty summer sweater had me subscribing! You are fun! And I’d love to see you knit that Prada sweater! Happy I found you. Love from Canada ❤️🇨🇦
Just found your channel today and I’m so glad! You’re a welcome breath of fresh air from what my UA-cam feed usually sends my way in terms of knitting content. I only recently started knitting but love to see the work more experienced knitters and textile designers make. Guernsy is on my ‘someday’ list, being from a fishing town (Katwijk) in the Netherlands, my grandmother made one for me when I was a kid; it was sooo itchy. I’d love to make my own (slightly more wearable) one too. Super interested to see what pattern/patterns you’ll choose for yours! Subscribed 👏
Thanks so much. A visserstrui is actually pretty easy to make once you have the motifs. I'll for sure talk more about it when I get around to making one.
I'll wear the Yell sweater! You can make it for me!!! I've loved that sweater for years. (I don't think my skills are high enough yet to attempt it, myself.)
You…sir…are a breath of fresh knitting air….glad I “ stumbled “ on to you….your delivery is professional….and as a 35 year knitter who wants inspiration for knitting …not a new best friend or chit chat about your life etc…….and not neutral all the time…..that Prada project…well I may be right behind you….look forward to see what you show in the future
Thanks so much! 35 years old is a weird knitting age these days. As someone also in their mid 30's I feel like I'm either the old man of the group or the baby.
When you try your English method, I recommend trying the ‘pencil hold.’ Hang in there with it, and you will find it quite fast AND that it avoids carpal tunnel.
Was the Jared Flood sweater you mentioned "Smokin'"? I knit this for my son and used Debbie Bliss yarn. I had trouble with the saddle shoulder and emailed Jared and he responded immediately and solved my problem.
Another fun podcast 👍🏻. Have you considered steeking your current Christmas card sweater and turning it into a slightly more roomy cardigan? It might kill two birds with one stone. You could embroider the "ugly" elements you're craving. Your Prada inspired sweater will be epic! 😍
Thanks so much. In terms of the sweater, the arms are too tight and the fabric is not as dense as I would like cuz I used the wrong weight of yarn. I will pass it on to someone who would appreciate it more.
Ummm. I did not know this and I'm glad you brought this to my attention. I will watch immediately. I may have gone yarn shopping for it today and got a lot of options.
I'd imagine pretty good. It has a high twist which would help a lot with wear. That all being said, I've never knit a sock, so do with that what you will.

That Prada jersey really is fabulous! I look forward to seeing your progress ❤
Me too. I'm at the point where I have the yarn, but I need to figure out the combos and start doing some math.
Wow what a nice list of projects! I am looking forward to see what you will knit over the year. Enigmatic swearer is wonderful!
Thanks so much. I'm curious as to what I'll get up to too.

Thanks so much. Glad I could offer a giggle.

Thanks. I'm excited. No clue how this will turn out.
Gorgeous,to thy self be true!!! You are a blessing to me!!!!
Thank you so much
The Does Diamonds sweater... it will be great! And I'll bet you *can* write a pattern... go for it! 😉
It will be epic. I can write the pattern, but will I? Not sure.
@@jimmydoesknitting That is the question...

I've seen those ladies.. I also think it's called parlour knitting. Super fascinating. They have some speed.
All your ideas are great 🎉thanks for sharing them😊
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed.

It was not that one, but I'm so impressed with his designs and what he does with his yarn.
First video here... response to the lighting disclaimer, I love the colors on this video.
Thanks. I'm experimenting with things.

Maybe you already know this, but Prada has a video of that same sweater being knit on flat bed knitting machines.

@@jimmydoesknittingit’s a video titled “Prada Making of | Knitwear Prada Man”
How would that 5 ply guernsey yarn be for socks?
I'd imagine pretty good. It has a high twist which would help a lot with wear. That all being said, I've never knit a sock, so do with that what you will.
@@jimmydoesknittingthat's what that other famous knitwear who lives in Amsterdam said. Then he got the bug!
@@Stumpybear7640 I know. I know. I would say this year I'm 'sock curious' but have lots of mixed feelings on the subject.
I think the Marie Wallen jacket could look more masculine if you added a separating zipper and treated it as a jacket.
Could be. I just think it's so beautiful and want to give it to someone who I know will wear it. I probably would not.
