    May everyone who imprisoned and enslaved Kiska her entire lifetime know, the kind of love they gave to her, be given back to each one responsible and profited from her enslavement. She couldn't have been released into the wild due to the fact that she was raised by humans, and also because wild pods would all reject her, and she wouldn't survive alone.
      But they should have never kept her there. She deserved to be with other whales. I wish she was transferred to SeaWorld. But Marineland was too greedy to let her go...

    • @CleverClover2023
      @CleverClover2023 Рік тому

      @@CJ55981 You clearly know nothing about killer whale behavior or culture. Different pods and ecotypes speak different languages. A killer whale from Iceland isnt going to be able to talk to a Russian Killer Whale who cant talk to a Pacific NW Whale.
      Putting her with strange whales she couldnt communicate with wouldnt have been a 'better option'. Sounds like you just wanted her to go to another tank and be forced to perform tricks. How heartless and cruel you are.
      Her being released from that tank never meant being dumped into the wild. Anyone with a brain can see that she wouldnt be able to survive on her own. The plan was to free her to a sanctuary. Unfortunately, WSP was too busy collecting soil samples and doing wildlife studies to actually build the sanctuary.

    • @CJ55981
      @CJ55981 Рік тому +2

      @@CleverClover2023 you make conclusions about people quite fast. Except your conclusions aren't right.
      I've been doing my research about killer whales since I was a teenager, since these animals fascinated me. I know they speak different languages. And you say that she wouldn't be able to communicate - then how did Corky and Kasatka understand each other? Whales can learn languages just like humans. Another problem was that she could have died before learning other languages, but still. Would you rather die isolated than die having other human beings right next to you?
      About performing tricks. Anyone with a brain knows the whales aren't forced to perform. And Kiska was just existing in her tank, not even performing, she was doing nothing. Keep in mind that each behaviour you see during a show is exercise *and* a way to deal with boredom. Kiska was banging her head against a wall - probably because the boredom and isolation were driving her insane. Or do you think she was fine just floating aimlessly?
      "Her being released never meant her being dumped into the wild." Tell that to all the people who demanded she was returned to her home waters. Tell that to PETA or the Dodo. Don't tell that to me.

    We all share the blame for the fate of this creature. Everyone who has ever wanted to watch them perform when we were kids and everyone who ever spent money at marineland or SeaWorld or any of any other parks like these bear a share of the responsibility and should have a place inside them where there is a little shame for feeling like this was ever ok. Kids maybe not since they don't know any better I guess but those kids have parents that should have known better. I was 7 when I went to SeaWorld and if I had known then what the reality of the situation was I believe I would have had the gumption to know that this is wrong. I gotta stop

Keiko, from the movie Free Willy was captured at the same time as Kiska and his handlers made several attempts to release him and get him back into a pod, but he wouldn't go. He kept coming back to interact with people and wouldn't stay with any of the whale pods he was brought to. Sadly he died as well.
