its the Peace Rhine upgrade of the F-4F, which honestly means it should've been in buffed in guided munitions (AIM-9L's and more AGMs) because it never actually carried J's, but can't complain about the BR reduction I suppose

Yeah, I've been asking Gaijin for AIM-9L's for the F-4F since the MLD got added. The br reduction is the only proof I have that they haven't forgotten it exists entirely.
Trust me. This thing would be far better off at its new BR without 9L's. Give it 9L's it'll go back up and be utterly useless once again and then the same people asking for 9L's will bitch and bitch. Don't even tell me you guys wouldn't. You'll say so, but if it actually happens you guys will be the first people to bitch, I guarantee it.
@@evangalinsky2499 This thing has the auto leading edge slats, its right now the most agile Phantom, and the Jap EJ Kai has 9Ls now... so giving this better munition is fine. No biggy. This thing is obsolete cus of the new Gen 4s but thats what tech is.

Something I love to do with the Mavericks is the send them after players who camp the airfield.
You can launch it savely from outside the AAs range and it won't trigger RWR and can't be flared

Although I really don't like Jets in this game and I fully focus on props simply because I love em, I´m always willing to watch a full top top-tier video from you, just because I love how you comment on your videos.
I'd say that if it comes to the positioning at the start of the battle, it also depends on the vehicle. Is your jet exponentially good at climbing like F-104? You may climb to 6km+ and then dive straight on your enemies if it wasn't an uptier. Are you in a jet with no countermeasures and there are probably SU-25s or A-6s in enemy team? Don't even climb and try flying away from the middle of the map, get around it and you may be able to get on the six of these pesky SU-25s, unless you get interrupted. When I was grinding the F-5E with F-104C, F-100D and F-2 sabre recently, every time during an uptier, I tried flanking the enemy team low, which usually either ended with me snatching some sneaky kills, not getting any, because my team stomped the enemy team or got completely obliterated, because my team was already dead. If I had got a downtier, then I'd climb to around 3km and then engage lone targets without any interference from unexpected R-60MK vibe check. The last exception was when I unloved rocket pods for F-104C, because despite it lacking flares, for some reason you can mount only one rocket pod under one wing, which gives you ~10 "flares", which actually allowed me to use the excellent F-104C climb rate despite SU-25 presence, because R-60MKs easily loose track if you shoot a small serie of FFARs.

@@fate3071 i mean like the amraams arent that special. Russia has the r77, japan has the aam4, and im pretty sure all the other nations have planes that could just carry amraams. I think the main issue is that the maps and current team sizes would make fighting even more chaotic than it is and matches woould be even shorter and less fun than they are.
@@eesangWT I'm fine with smaller and less played nations getting better avionics to counter the lack of vehicles, china and Sweden have been slowly growing into pretty good nations

Hey I have a question i was grinding the Russian air tree and out of no where it allowed me to research the whole rest of tier 3 so like 4-5 planes and i never experienced that before and i have grinded china and Israel

i know this plane doesnt have SARH but when chasing you can do a bit of trolling if you lock on someone and fire an AIM-9 most people will interpret it as an AIM-7 after seeing youre in a phantom they start bleeding off all their speed enough for a vulcan spray, has worked for me more times than it should and its so funny
Hi DEFYN, I recently started grinding the USSR air tree and tried to play the LaGG-3. I didn't do so well seeing as I was completely stock, and that thing is more obese than 69% of Americans. So would you consider doing a video on it? I would be very interested in seeing how you approach flying it.
I'd love to see DEFYN play the MiG-21F-13. That thing is a challenge to play when facing high-G missiles. Dunno if he'd go absolutely insane or not after getting footages for that thing.

How does your game look so bright and vibrant ? Explosions and fires in my game (with max graphics) are much more red-ish
Oh, so that's why I see people staying way left in lower rank games. But it doesn't seem necessary when you don't have to worry about missiles. I usually go more right or straight up the middle, figuring I can help spot and maybe drag a guy into a trap or flank somebody.

No. This one is a little better due to the BR and it also has the agile eagle slats. Japan one is still 11.0 so it fights 12.0s, British J is a brick with mediocre missiles

This phantom is my favourite in the game. I don't know if it's because it suits my gamestyle. I get average 4-5 kills every game after I bomb run the bases.

I read people saying they're beating Mirage 2K duelists with this thing... How??
Most likely Mirages are dumping all of their speed while taking bad angles leaving them out of energy before they can kill the F-4 meaning that the F-4 can just come around the turn and bag them. While the Mirage is a lot more maneuverable with speed when it is well below its best maneuvering speed to the point that it is just stalling around the circle it will turn worse than every other jet fighter in game. This is true for virtually every jet fighter though so don't ever get a jet slow unless you are above someone deliberately stalling them out and you know they don't have any missiles.
Not to mention the Airforce slatted F4's have some cracked behaviour on low fuel levels
@@rainsilent oh that's why I'm able to one circle it with the MiG19 when at slow speed, makes sense
@@sherlocksinha2435 they're great dogfighters at low fuel, but that's because on mid fuel amount they are proportionally carrying much more weight than an F-5C or a MiG19, it's like the J5N1, it sucks hard because it starts with a minimum of 30mins of fuel but once it gets on 10 minutes it can out dogfight a lot of stuff. Same for P51 D30.

German air top tier is a total joke. Highest br plane is 11.3 and while every other tree (except Britain) )has a competitive top tier fighter we consistently get nothing. MLD is barely even mid, 21 bis isn't competitive, tornado is absolute dog poo. I refuse to play sim ( my favorite mode) because I'll get dookied on immediately by a f-14/f16. We need a Mig 29, or really anything competitive but bc German ground is really strong people laugh when German air mains speak out.
And trust me, from experience- we'll finally get a Mig 29/competitive jet when a f-22 premium comes out in 2032. We are consistently the last tree to get a competitive top tier jet and by the time we get it it's no longer competitive or the highest br.
23 really ain't bad yk, it's not super competitive definitely not but it can manage really well unlike phantom's and starfighters (Italy, Japan ect)
Because then you have even more mig29s fighting each other with no diversity, the only reason the f16 is somewhat kept in check is because it's given to minor nations

Of course they buff everything but the US version once again showcasing the Anti US bias in the game.
tbf, the f14 is still fine, the APG-66 on the F-16 is the hardest to notch in the entire game (but the 7M's habit of not caring about radar locks and deciding i wants to hit anything but the target is pretty annoying, also the fact that if your going mach 1 the F-16 magically becomes an F-104), the A-6E is there having 4 AIM-9L's at 10.0 facing planes that doesnt have any flares at all, also there are alot of undtertiered US planes like the XP-50, F-89B/D, P-51H, and F2G. So i dont really think theres an anti US in war thunder.
