He has a way with those beats and it's undeniable. They just make me think of my childhood. I always juggle between his first 4 albums, but I think I'm feelin' Safe + Sound the most right now. So far, every interview i've seen by BigBoyTV has been captivating, interesting and relevant. The situation is verbally set up to picture the moment, and they're intimate, yet respectful. I appreciate these. These are jewels for the lifelong fans of some of these guests since the 80s and 90s. I got into Hip Hop much later than my friends and people my age. But when I did, my musical life changed once i heard Safe n Sound in '95, Quik's Groove in particular. A flawless jazz instrumental on a Hip Hop album? Are you fucking kidding me?? Quik, thank you for opening my eyes, for putting the music first, for being a true profession artist.
I remember when Q' dropped in 90' I honestly thought dude was related to the late Eazy E. He sound like him. No body can do the high pitch sound like Eazy except Q'. Not to mention Q' came hard and came as himself. Legend!
Dj quik will forever stay in my heart and soul because of that music, he is an innovator, soulster, funkster to the core, his cow bells and synthesizer just give you a feel like you somewhere over here or over there, this is definitely a bomb interview with the right dude interviewing him.
lol though he's likely just saying that so he can continue getting that lil stimulus package (beats music catalog).
