Lead Vocals: Dennis DeYoung, Jim Peterik

    Guitars: Jim Peterik, August Zadra
    Bass: Kevin Campbell
    Keyboards: Colin Peterik
    Drums: Ed Breckenfeld
“Winds Of Change” is the long-awaited follow-up to Jim Peterik’s now legendary “Jim Peterik’s World Stage” album. Set for release on April 26, 2019, “Winds of Change”, is another musical masterpiece featuring brand new Peterik songs in collaboration with a who’s who of melodic rock’s greatest superstars, including Kevin Chalfant (ex-The Storm), Dennis DeYoung (ex-Styx), Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Lars Safsund and Robert Sall (Work Of Art), Toby Hitchcock (Pride Of Lions), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto), Mike Reno (Loverboy), Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Jason Scheff (ex-Chicago), and a very special previously unreleased track by the late, great Jimi Jamison.
“Since the success of my first World Stage album back in 2001 and countless shows since, I have wanted to create a new musical legacy with this format,” says Jim. "Listening to voices blending as one has always inspired me, going back to the Beatles and other great vocal groups. I have always considered myself as much a fan of great bands and artists as I am an artist myself, so a project like World Stage is a dream come true since I get to pay homage to those whose music I love, by writing and performing with them. With "Winds Of Change" I was honored to work with some of the best, adapting my writing and production styles to fit a particular act. Many of the songs were actually co- written with the artists appearing too."
"I am a rabid fan of every artist on the album and it was such a thrill to try and bring out their best essence, but for me the most touching moment of this record is reviving an amazing lost track by the late great Jimi Jamison. As I mixed the new version, it was again like having Jimi in the studio with me as his stunning voice came through the monitors. There was not a dry eye in the room. With "Love You All Over The World", his spirit is still with us all," adds Peterik.
    Tracklist:
    1. Winds Of Change (featuring Danny Chauncey and Don Barnes of .38 Special)
    2. Without A Bullet Being Fired (featuring Mike Reno of Loverboy)

From the song: "We search for proof of Heaven in every stranger's face." This is a tremendously astute observation. It is wired into us to seek the image of the face since the time when we were comforted by it as infants. That amount of time comprises the entirety of our sentient lives. It doesn't matter how old you get nor how badly life has treated you. You will still "search for proof of Heaven in every stranger's face" like the song says.

More proof of the genius and humility of Jim Peterik. He co-wrote this song, recorded it in his World Stage Studios, played guitar, sang backups, and works collaboratively with Dennis without ego. Dennis is brilliant here, obviously, but so is JP. Give the man his due.

everybody loves Jim peterik just only thing is you got to be more of a Chicago kind of person to really love him.
Too many he's just eye of the tiger guy..
they forget about the Ides of March and a whole lot more.
I just before Jimi Jameson died rekindling friendship..
also wrote a whole pile of 38 special songs in the early years him and Don Barnes still friends to this day I think Don played on this album too..and Sammy Hagar wrote heavy metal together..
he's very active in the Chicago local music scene helping artists younger are just kids and a whole lot more.
      Jimmy just a great guy.
      just like Denny.

Lyrics for PROOF OF HEAVEN by Dennis DeYoung and Jim Peterik
    TELL ME ALL YOU KNOW
    WHISPER IN MY EAR
    THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE
    WERE DYING ALL TO HEAR
    I PROMISE NOT TO TELL
    WELL MAYBE JUST MY WIFE
    PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS MYSTERY
    THEY CALL THE AFTERLIFE
    'CAUSE I BELIEVE I BELIEVE
    I TELL MYSELF EVERYDAY
BUT WHEN I LOOK AROUND I SEE
    A WORLD IN DISARRAY
BUT I KEEP ON HOPING I KEEP ON HOPING
WE SEARCH FOR PROOF OF HEAVEN
    WE SEEK THE SACRED LIGHT
WE KNEEL WITH SAINTS AND SINNERS
HOPING FOR THE BLACK AND WHITE
    WE LOOK FOR GUARDIAN ANGELS
    WE PRAY FOR SAVING GRACE
WE SEARCH FOR PROOF OF HEAVEN
    IN EVERY STRANGERS FACE
AND TELL ME ONE MORE THING
    WHY ALL THIS MYSTERY
ARE THERE ANY MORE LIKE US
    OUT IN DISTANT GALAXIES
    CAUSE EVERYONE I KNOW
FROM HERE TO WHO KNOWS WHERE
WANTS TO KNOW THE REASON WHY
    OH LIFE CAN BE UNFAIR
    CAUSE I BELIEVE I BELIEVE
    I TELL MYSELF EVERYDAY
    BUT WHEN I LOOK AROUND
    I SEE A WORLD THAT'S GONE ASTRAY
STILL I KEEP ON HOPING LIVING COPING
WE SEARCH FOR PROOF OF HEAVEN
    WE SEEK THE SACRED LIGHT
WE KNEEL WITH SAINTS AND SINNERS
HOPING FOR THE BLACK AND WHITE
    WE LOOK FOR GUARDIAN ANGELS
    WE PRAY FOR SAVING GRACE
WE SEARCH FOR PROOF OF HEAVEN
    IN EVERY STRANGERS FACE
    TIAN TIAN TIAN TIAN
    PARADISO CIELO
    PARADIS
CAN YOU SEE THE SIGNS OF HEAVEN
    RIGHT BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES
CAN YOU FEEL THE HOPE INSIDE US
    SHINING SHINING
CAN'T YOU HEAR THE SOUND OF MUSIC
    THROUGH THE STREETS OF PARADISE
CAN'T YOU HEAR THE BELLS OF FREEDOM
    CHIMING CHIMING
WE SEARCH FOR PROOF OF HEAVEN
    IN EACH AND EVERY FACE
WE LOOK FOR SIGNS OF MERCY
    AND PRAY FOR SAVING GRACE
I SWEAR BY ALL THAT'S HOLY
    IF WERE TO RISE AGAIN
    WE'LL FIND THAT OUR SALVATION
    IS ALWAYS FOUND WITHIN
    WE'LL RISE AGAIN

Styx was a great band. I think they’re a great band now, but it’s a different one. If they were friends, I’d love to see a reunion. But honestly, the hatred in JY’s eyes and body language when Dennis is brought up in interviews is pretty damn sad to me. What a waste of life to hate someone like that. To me, there’s always a look in Tommy’s face that the big reason he doesn’t do a reunion is to keep the peace with JY. I could be way off, as I’m not any of the principles. But if I had to choose my favorite of the two bands, I’d go with Dennis.... this song is the very definition of the spirit of old Styx.

This is so inspirational and amazing both spiritually and musically. I have been a drummer for 46 of my almost 50 years and was lucky enough to get to meet Mr. Peterik a few years back in Fort Wayne. A very kind man indeed. God bless him and all that he writes and has given us through years of wonderful music.

Glad you put in about Jesus saving. Although I love the sound of this song, how disappointing to hear them sing that salvation is found within. So contradictory to earlier lyric about praying for saving grace. Sorry, boys, but it is found at the cross of Christ!

Dennis DeYoung's new album entitled "26 East Volume 1" will release on April 10th on CD, LP and digital. Volume 2 doesn't have a release date yet.
The name is in reference to Dennis's home address where he and the Panozzo brothers first played in a band together back in 1962.
This song "Proof of Heaven" will likely be on Vol. 2 as it's not in the listings of the first album.

I can’t believe how amazing Dennis still sounds! Doesn’t sound like he’s aged one bit! Obviously, it’s all genetics but I was listening to Phil Collins on his recent tour and, while I have great respect for him getting up and going out and touring at age 68, he has to sit down for the duration of his show and everything has to be tuned way down for him to sing. Meanwhile, DDY, at age 72, gets out there, moves all over the stage and has that golden voice he’s always had! Props to you, Dennis! I hope to see you and your band one of these days! Come to Michigan soon!

Its because Phil has major back issues, mostly deaf and can no longer play the drums and I would still see Phil over anyone these days diminished or not.
