Love the video. I have a 01 gp800r that needs a new engine and I’m looking at going through PWC engines. Would like to hear your thoughts on the experience through them so far. And also appreciate the in-depth on taking apart each section. It’s tough to find a good detailed video on these bad boys
Their price came in a couple hundred higher than originally quoted. Could be my error in not asking all the right questions. Not really a problem, just an observation I guess. Their customer service through email is terrible. Took me a week to get an answer about what items exactly needed to be sent and what didn't. Turn around time was like one week on site for them which I thought was fantastic. The engine LOOKS great. Obviously the proof will be on the water. Overall I'm quite pleased at this point.
@@605BOLT will do I’m hoping we have similar results. Thanks for the feedback on them. Were they pretty quick about getting you the new block once you sent yours?!
They actually offered welding on the block so I went with that. Just welded her right up. No issues that I can see right now. The welding and everything was done in that time frame. They also sourced another cylinder head for me because as you saw, mine was too beat up. Welding was like 150 or something and the new head was like 75 or so. Don't quote me on the numbers. I wasn't too worried about it. I forgot to add before that the reason the quote was higher is because he didn't quote me return shipping initially. So that was like 100+ extra. Not a big deal. Just one of those things that slips through the cracks if you don't ask the exact right questions haha.
Took my engine apart last week. Shipped it Monday and it got there yesterday. Now just waiting for them to give me a call about pricing, found a hole in the bottom case when I took it out. Hoping it doesn’t take too long for them to knock it out so I can get out on the water! Looking forward to update video.
Ensure you rebuild your carbs with Genuine Mikuni rebuild kits, pressure test block/carbs and replace all fuel lines or you will be redoing this project again. GL
I am currently editing the carb rebuild video. I used mikuni brand kits👍, replaced fuel lines that were scabby👍 and the carbs have been pressure tested. I believe the engine builder pressure tests on his end. 👍
You would run that crank? The big end of that crank was shot. Lots of play. Would have at least needed bearings imo. Obvious slop difference between the sides.
Thanks for the shout-out! Loved the vid. Taking my ski out today. Can't wait till you get this done!
For sure! Beautiful day for it!
Like the music in this one.
Good!

Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@AchikSarih you're welcome!
If you have a DPLATE you need to reject your jets. The piston burned out due to heat and not enough full.
@@Restored_2strokes this was a stock motor. No mods.
Oh, my friend, noooo.
I expected serial movie, you just made gravebox and sent it for 2nd repair attempt. (((
I couldn't get the parts for the right price. We'll give this baby a shot. I hope it turns out! 🤞
Should’ve just thrown a new piston at it and sent it. Extra metal and a JB Weld/epoxy hole isn’t a big deal. 😂

@@605BOLT Heck no. I was just kidding. That thing was toast! Top and bottom end were junk. 😳
Oh ok haha. I was gonna say damn! I use what I have from time to time but for me this was scrap. I'll be looking for your sarcasm next time haha. 🍻
I'm sorry, but this engine is scrap. Twice this happened in same place, Probably 3rd time is also coming.
Yr friend is not a friend to you😢😢
He only rode it for about 15 mins haha. Hopefully it's not junk. Engine builder said it's solid and on it's way back. Should arrive to me tomorrow.
I wish you good, but if crankshaft was not properly checked your run will be also abt 15min
Crank was fully checked and redone. Arrived today.
