I joined WOT about 7months ago. I have been playing in a clan with lots of veteran players. One thing I noticed is a lot of them are very underwhelmed with and not purchasing or participating in events and loot box’s. But as a new player I felt the content/$$$ has been high value. Just a new players perspective, I agree with your sentiment for new players experience. Once again a really good video with great points, really been enjoying your long form content. Keep up the good work!!! I think a video detailing the new player experience and your thoughts could be interesting!
1:00:00 I feel this, I remember in the open beta the process of watching the whole playerbase learn "how to play" Things like learning the hill on Himmelsdorf exists or rushing the field with everyone on Malinovka. Simpler times...
wot nostalgia has that childhood memory effect to it. Like, I have a bunch of vague "screenshot" memories of random moments when i first played the game. That one time when I drove my stock kv1 with absolutely nothing equipped on into a lake in Komarin and sit there for the whole game because I couldn't tell what was going on, who were fighting who and where are they even fighting. It's like a childhood memory of you staring into a wall for no reason but you still remember it, and when you think of it you just feel good

I have been playing WOT PC for almost 12 years and it has no future - there used to be two servers, and we had at least 70K players logged in - the game was a lot of fun - at the moment there is only one server and somehow there is an extremely high login of 8500 players - normally this is around 5000 - I spent several months on battle pass to pick up some bounty equipment - the interface was showing 3 tokens and you could get one of each - after carrying 6 over to the next level and getting up to eight tokens I decided to buy the equipment before they expire and after buying the first one the option to buy more disappeared - it said nothing anywhere that you could only buy one period - I currently have 8 tokens and they are worthless and all the time and aggravation to get them is lost - but you say no, it is not lost - you will get 800 bonds to add to your over 51000 bounds - this is what this game has become starting around 7 years ago when they gave us RNG as a starter - every update now requires hours of work and studying to find out how to play the new crap again - My Premium Account just ran out for the first time since I started playing - and I am about to Cancel WOT+ that I was forced to purchase in order to move equipment from tank to tank after they implemented Equipment 2.0 - very few tanks now have crews thanks to Crew 2.0 - I am trying to find the time to delete all the rental tanks and crews in them since you cannot move them into new tanks anymore without having to play with a 60% crew or spend GOLD - lots of Gold - I was a paying player and spent more on this game then my flight sim setup - I believe over $1,500 easily - yes I was a fool - there is no way I have been able to recommend this game to anyone to try and build up the data base for a very long time - I have not played a battle in 6 or 7 days and not sure when I will - this game has become so much work and frustration and very little fun after every update - I do not have a tank that I like anymore - as soon as I find one wargaming will f it up so I stop playing it - I was a grinder/Tank Collector playing nothing but stock tanks with poor crews - it used to be more fun than playing with a 5 skill crew these days - the only reason I am still hear is because I have so much assets and I cannot sell the account - It would cost several thousand to buy all the stuff I have not including 51K bonds 6 battle pass tanks, 69mil credits, 364K Free experience - 10K gold - 775 fire extinguishers , 890 first aid and repair kits - I never used these things - yes that is also foolish - Oh, over 4000 personal reserves -
@@artbobik3516 Hey it sounds like you’d benefit from a break from the game. Too much of one thing often leads to burnout. I’ve been playing the game for 12 years myself, and have been enjoying myself more as time passes. Not because of the content, but because of my approach to the game. I play 5-25 battles in a session to avoid tilting, and I try to play with platoon mates. It’s helped me a lot.
Arty tracers used to come directly from the barrel. Arty players complained a LOT. You would have good arty players watching typical arty spots and wait till enemy arty fired. If you had good arty on both sides it was a game of who would get tired and fire first. Literally nearly 60 -90 seconds before either arty would shoot.
I am a old player of WoT, the new player experience is very poor, it took a few of my friends to learn the game to deal with it then after that now they have fun with the game some don't wanna ever try it again. The other perspective is the free aspect isn't as good as paid for tanks thus the pay to win aspect arises. In order to sustain your credits in the game is to have premium a credit booster a clan credit booster and being in a platoon with everyone having premium to even make credits you don't get this with a new player first starting and choking the credit gain is wrongful for new players. The mechanics are hard to learn and one screw up is all that's need and your tank is toast in 2 seconds. I have spent a lot of money on WoT over the years and it's not a problem for me to make credits, but if I was a free to play player I wouldn't be playing for long because it has no reward feeling, even if a win I don't feel the rewards are substantial enough and this whole piggy bank system for premium users it's laughable because I earn way more than what the bank holds and feeling prem is generally a waste. There are many problems with WoT and they just dunno how to balance their game nor will they change OP tanks that are prem to be tolerable (looks at bz-176 and even90) but they will change high tier tanks or even a certain Italian Auto Reloader medium just because it's too popular.
Hey thanks for the feedback! -- Fixing the new player experience will take several fixes. Fixes to the economy in the early-mid game, the way the MM works, and the way we teach new players how to play. Namely the positions of where to play and where not to. There are a ton of resources for newer players to learn from, and our CC's have an abundance of great learning content. But it's not immediately available for them to see. (this of course is without mentioning unbalanced OP/Toxic Tanks) I'll go in much more in-depth in a video about fixing the new player experience soon. So stayed tuned :D

I dont think WG will anytime "pull the plug" when they are doing well... Maybe look at that after 5 years after 2025.
