      Ordered my lights and horn from ebay paid 2.50 for the horn and 1.89 for the button after watching this great tip . I also got my light from ebay its a 12w multivoltage motorcycle spotlight and is very bright . Another thing i did was where you attached your horn my bike dosnt have a hole there so i used a star fangled nut and fitted it in the bottom of my forks and fitted a aluminium flatbar bent into shape as a bracket freeing up space on the handlebars

      Theoretically anything that can short and draw enough power to damage the battery. This horn could use a fuse as a just in case, such as a situation where the horn internally shorted. Rare, but it could happen. Fuses are just good insurance.

    Looks like those two books could be pretty useful - especially the battery one. Struggling to find enough Li-ion cells recently - started collecting dead laptop batteries from the local PC store (plan was to test the individual cells, build a battery from the good ones), but ever since the Tesla walls came in, people have been snapping them up to build their own.

    I came up with a great idea because I was sick of cars doing the wrong thing and people too busy on their phones to get out of the way , So gave it some thought and came up with this.
    I bought a JBL go3 portable bluetooth speaker and downloaded a car horn app and an air horn app linked them with my iphone and it is better than the real thing .
    even though the speaker is small it has more than enough volume . I have allready tried it doing the bay cycle in leichhardt and used it a couple of times and it works really well even when the headphones are in there ears they can still hear it and move I think I gave a couple of people mini heart attacks when I used the air horn.
    I suprised no one has come up with this before for such a simle idea . It might be a costly option ($59 from jb hi fi) but how much can you put on safety and works on any phone with bluetooth android or iphone

      Sounds like something was shorting the battery, and it caused the BMS to go into protection mode. Make sure your wiring is correct. There's a chance the horn itself was shorting. They are cheap, so I wouldn't rule it out.

      Thanks for the reply. I have learned a lot from your videos and website. I'll test the horn itself and see it it still works. ‏תודה רבה

    is there a way I can use this with a Luna roam fusion bike? it has a Rosenberg charge connector,

      You could buy the matching part of the rosenberger, then tap into the + and - cables there. Just plug it to the charge port on the battery and you're good to go.

    Can you please explain what happens when we use a 150 Amp controller for a motor which produces about a maximum of 8.5kw at 127 Amps and 96 volts.
    Does the motor still draw 127 Amps irrespective of the controller or will the motor heatup because controller permits 150 Amps.
    ( My idea is that if the max amp rating of controller is more than what is required to run the motor,it will ensure that the controller does not heatup...Is this true?)
    This is for an electric motorcycle,Any help very much appreciated.

    • @EbikeSchool
      @EbikeSchool  6 років тому

      The motor will pull as much current as it can, so if you connect it to a 150A controller without a lower limit, the motor will try to pull 150 A. If your controller is programmable, you can set a limit at maybe 100A or 120A, that way the motor won't overheat and the controller will also stay cooler as it is not pushed to its limit.

    I set myself such signals (48V) in this way twice and both times the circuit was broken by strong induction currents, the switches disappeared very quickly. It's cheap and made in China..
    Now I solved the problem: i installed a diy-scheme breaker with one n-MOSFET.
    Now there is no spark in the switcher.

    Is there a way to tie the wires to a usb wire?
    My ebike has a USB port on the battery

      I guess if you have an old USB wire, you can splice that. The red wire is positive and black will be negative.

    california-ebike d o t com has an "E-Stop Brake Button" california-ebike d o t com/shop/bafang-e-stop-brake-button/ . it acts like the motor cutoff in the e-brake levers. Great for when you are shifting so you don't mash gears. I don't know why the (green) button face has a horn on it. Maybe it could be used for the horn button...?

    • @EbikeSchool
      @EbikeSchool  6 років тому

      Yea it can be used for a horn or other uses like regen braking or something else that needs a momentary contact switch.

      I use it as an electronic clutch while shifting gears. A must have when you have hydraulic brakes.. :) . I've seen the bike lights on your other video for 26-72v. I cannot figure out how to hook it up to a bafang. Aliexpress has Bafang head lights with 2 leads, but they don't show how you use your display/controller to turn them on an off.

      Hi Micah.. I'm trouble shooting a problem and no one knows what to do. I 'm using the E-Stop button. (all plugged into the brake cord (yellow) ) . It is working to cut the motor when the throttle is used.... BUT... the E-stop button is not cutting the motor when i use PAS. When I pedal the motor keeps pushing me along. No effect at all.
      It is confusing that it works on the throttle but not PAS.. Any ideas..?? I'm using a new BBS02 48v 750w kit. I'm not using the OEM ebrake levers because I have hydraulic brakes. I need this E-Stop button to act as an electronic clutch while shifiting gears... IDEAS..??

      It's quite loud - I actually turned the audio down so I didn't accidentally murder anyone who was listening with headphones.
