When Leonard was talking about how the film affected him since alot of the actors who was working with him in star trek were gone, my heart just literally dropped. That was just so sad.
I'm a Star Wars guy, but I love my Star Trek every now and then. Leonard Nemoy is my favourite person ever! Why? Because he is a class act. He is awesome to his fans, loves his work and is an 81 year old who does the Vulcan salute!
I Love that Spock and Uhura are together and them being with each other is not in any way taking a way from the Kirk, Spock & McCoy Friendship at all . In life you have many Relationships like Family ,Friends and Lovers
I have to agree with Nimoy; it was surprising to see Spock and Uhura going at it. Very un-Spock like. Poor writing, pandering to sensationalism. Also, how can everyone clap at the end when six billion people have been murdered? Should't Starfleet's first priority be to reverse the timeline, to prevent the genocide before it occurs, and not get sappy over Kirk? Too much blurring action and zig-zagging cameras and kissing, and not enough real science fiction in that movie.
@trekkie627 I wholeheartedly agree. Spock having a love life not only throws off the character but also the other relationships around him. How can Kirk and Spock be the besties they're meant to be if Spock has a girlfriend. The three of them (Kirk, Spock & McCoy) are meant to have this amazing relationship where they are practically the most important people to each other. Adding Uhura into the mix just makes her an awkward addition to the harmony b/w them. That being said I loved ST:XI.
@trekkie627 Part of being a Trek fan is to keep an open mind to different possibilities. This is an alternate universe; they made that perfectly clear in the movie, so things have changed and quite dramatically. Spock is now facing something he never really faced. Losing home, family, control all at once is traumatic and Spock is not bullet-proof. The Enterprise is different from the old. The visuals are different from the 60's. Change is constant, open your mind to the possibilities.
@AuroraGreenleaf What you gotta remember though is that all the storylines and back histories from the original series can be tossed out. Before anyone crucifies me what I mean is this: When you introduce a time travel element that alters events in history, you can have different events take place although you may ultimately end up at the same resulting situation. Events that lead up to this situation may be different. Kirk's childhood for example. You sure Spock's married though? I forget.
to be fair idgaf about the 2009 movie's major plotline, as in the stuff about Nero. the only thing that didn't make me appreciate it at all was the character portrayal and the discrepancies between the canon and the new one. Even if it became an alternate timeline, the character's actions were still based on their characters, and the characters were terrible. And that's obviously what made TOS in the first place. we loved the characters.
@trekkie627 I love how you say every true fan. Not everyone approved of Spock/Kirk, I think Kirk was just a little too close to and touched everybody. I've seen the TOS, and a couple times Spock and Uhura look like they showed affection toward each other. IMO I like Spock/Uhura.
@trekkie627 I completely agree with you about how wrong it was to give Spock a love interest. I am a new Star Trek fan, and I'm working my way through all the episodes of Original Seires. That's why it's very vivid to me how this new Star Trek film is different from it's predecessor, and not in a good way. This film feels like video games to me. Lots of special effects and loud noises. The charm of Star Trek has always been the story about people, about friendship. This film is too ordinary.
@trekkie627 , what is a true fan.? the director is allowed liberties.. .that like you, I don't agree with. Spock may have had a love life, but chose to keep it private, hence why it doesn't show up in books/movies/ television. he is capable or he wouldn't have married Savvik
You need to watch your mouth. That was completely uncalled for. However for the record yeah I like both but I prefer Star Wars more. Darth Vader can kill Spock with his mind.

A legendary actor a fantastic director and a wonderful person rest in peace Mr Nimoy
Live long & prosper Mr. Spock! Leonard Nimoy: you are missed; Star Trek won't, isn't going to be, & hasn't been the same without you.
What a lovely man him saying about all the ones that have gone and now sadly him too, God Bless Leonard.❤️

I'm not a dedicated Star Trek fan but I am a huge fan of Nimoy.
4:47 O.M.G. Perfect description of Spock character. Perfect Leonard, perfect.
This guy does his job as an actor so well.

Love Lenny and his Boston accent. "Store Trek"
Everyone likes Lenard Nemoy. Or they better.

But isn't Spock already married back on Vulcan? Won't Uhura be dissapointed?!
Last scene: "can you give us the... umm..". He should've given her the vulcan nerve pinch then!
Hello there, Master Xehanort. ._.
How the hell did Jimmy Fallon get Leonard and Zach?!?
um.. he was in the last one as well. And it's not as if his role was spectacular. Just because he's Nimoy doesn't mean he didn't have a crappy script
rumpled laundry lol!

the interviewer at 1:00 is such a nerd :P its great, lol
symmylynn Scott Mantz lives and breathes Star Trek. He's a big nerd, he's great.
I enjoy both so don't say that crap.
