      Recently bought a bundle of fifty NH "ones" to try spending around the state. Have not had trouble and have spent them in 3/4 of the places I've inquired at. None of these establishments were listed places taking Goldbacks but they did. One was in MA as well, a state where they don't have Goldbacks yet.

    I've been a Goldback advocate since day one. Beautifully done, super technical in the way they're made. The shining gold helps accentuate the artwork all these notes display. I got mine just to have some, but then was really awestruck by their design and the way they're made. I still collect them but I don't stack them.

    People who continually gripe about the premium on Goldbacks either don't understand their purpose or don't understand anything about the quality of utility.

    • @KingdomSilverKC
      @KingdomSilverKC  6 місяців тому +3

      There is definitely utility here. My hope is that these become more commonplace, either grassroots or brick and mortar. Sadly, even finding a bullion dealer in my city is difficult, let alone people who would use these. But hoping that changes soon!

    • @gasconheart
      @gasconheart 2 місяці тому

      The concept is very similar to the copper rounds. A piece with 0.35 cents content of copper is bought for $2. These goldbacks also have an unrealistic premium. Am I not right?

    • @Steelythestacker
      @Steelythestacker Місяць тому

      As of right now. December 8th 2024. A 1/1000th ounce Goldback will cost you $5.24 from Alpine gold. The exchange rate, what the value towards goods or services in an establishment that accepts them, is $5.44. There is $2.64 in gold contained in the goldback. Where does the additional $2.80 in value come from? It is there because the maker of the Goldback says it is. It is very similar to fiat currency in that aspect. Over half the value of the Goldback is there on faith. God forbid a SHTF situation occurs, but if it does, that value of the Goldback will revert to the worth of the metal in the note itself. Are they a good option to stack? Sure, if you get them at spot or just slightly above. Are they a good investment? No there is a program you can bank them and make 2%, but an IRA would be a much more lucrative investment. Goldbacks are designed to be an alternative currency. That is what they were designed for, and to an extent, that is what they are good for. There isn't a business within 500 miles of my residence that accepts them, so for my purposes they are pretty useless to me. If I can find a few at spot, I would probably pick them up to frame as an art display. They are beautiful. But beyond that, they are a hard pass for me.

    • @BlueBirds-fs1id
      @BlueBirds-fs1id Місяць тому

      @@gasconheart no you’re not. A more realistic comparison is junk silver. The 1921 Peace Dollar was minted with a silver content worth about 50cents. This is done on all non-fait currencies to discourage people from melting them.
      Copper rounds are not intended for, or accepted as currencies. Copper rounds have a negligible metal value, they are not a fair comparison at all.

    You are not buying 'spot price' gold when you buy a Goldback. You are paying for the manufacturing and production costs to make the Goldback, which is quite expensive and time consuming, not to mention the expensive equipment and technology to make a Goldback. You are well aware that you can't buy fractional gold at spot, you pay a premium. A Goldback is the absolute best way to have spendable fractional gold...period. It is highly unlikely that you'll ever see a counterfeit Goldback because it would cost more to counterfeit it than the denomination printed. Same reason you never see counterfeit $1, $5 , $10 bills! FYI, Florida now has the Goldback and it is available in 8 different denominations, including a ½, a 2 and a 100.

    The idea is not to stack them, they are meant to be exchanged. The whole idea of hyper fractionalized gold in a serialized form, is to prevent inflating the currency. The utility cost is not a premium, it is the cost of development and manufacture, this is not a bad thing; the utility cost carries and it further prevents over printing if it cost more to make it.

    I think these are a great idea. Living in the people's republic of new york where we have no freedom using them as intended is nearly impossible. However the work around seems to be open an account with upma add gold backs to the account then use the prepaid visa card to access goldbacks and convert to fiat cash.

    I just purchased 5 $1's of each state myself. This is the most recent Goldback Video online. Goldbacks have reached a max of $5.09 a piece in valuation a few days ago to $4.87 today. I just purchased mine for $4.62 so I got a "deal". I'm going to make them a 10% stake in my Gold and Metals portfolio. They absolutely appeal to me, and I foresee them growing in the future as the paper bill becomes worthless.

    I wouldn't understand anyone that stacks fractional silver for reasons of barter, but didn't stack these also. That would make no sense to me. Premium rises with utility whether is GB's or fractional metal. I think Goldbacks make a ton of sense and have recently acquired some and begun spending them at various places. All you gotta do is ask, it's amazing how many will say yes to them.

    • @KingdomSilverKC
      @KingdomSilverKC  7 місяців тому

      I'm glad to hear they are becoming more mainstream! And I definitely agree about the premium rising point. We saw premiums growing significantly when the silver squeeze hit.
