Ammo is much more desirable, way cheaper, more commonly understood and is divisible down to a single round. It worked great during the pandemic and will work better than any precious metal if barter becomes widespread.
Ammunition is also prone to damage, trust issues (I personally don't trust other people's reloads), can have spotty reliability, are not fungible, there's hundreds of different cartridges, heavy.... I agree ammo is a great option but I don't see either as a replacement for the other, I think ammunition and goldbacks both compliment each other quite well!
Gold/silver is easier to liquidate and when we SHTF, you can sell your bullion to other countries. There's only so much ammo and firearms you can hoard and take care of.
Are concerns about future liquidity of gold legitimate? For example, does it make more sense to buy 1/4 oz gold coins, instead of 1 oz, because in the future gold dealers won't pay for $10,000/oz., but would buy $2,500/quarter oz. gold? I've heard this on other channels, but I want your take on it. I'm also thinking that central banks would still be buying at any price, so dealers should still be able to move it, but i don't know. Not as easy to sell cause not highly recognized & trusted and won't get as much return because of this. Premiums you pay as well as Future premiums can make you extra $$ depending how & when u sell.
I do like the goldbacks, they look really nice and I think over time if they don't work out I think the collectability is there. As someone who is a low income it's more accessible for someone like me to buy smaller from time to time vs splashing out say £2k for 1oz. If there is a market down turn and you need cash, the market is down you also don't need to unload the larger quantities.
I think the problem is the Goldback, is a relatively new money, and people have not been educated on what they are. I only found out about them today, (3-09-2024), and only by stumbling on them in a video about silver stacking. This looks really interesting though. This is REAL money, backed by the real gold contained in the bill, unlike the worthless paper we all carry around today.
I saw a video showing that a lot of Chinese people were buying gold beads for investment. Turns out that a lot of them were low purity. I like 1 oz gold and silver coins, because the ping test works well on the 1 oz sizes.

If one grain is .065 of a gram. That means 1/4 of a grain .0162 grams. There’s 31.103 grams in an oz. So 1,920 1/4 grains in an oz. $1.07 approx per 1/4 grain.
The very small amounts are necessary, if for anything, ‘change’ when bartering. I agree, hyper is a gram or at the very most, 1/10 ozt. Definitely, a huge premium but price will catch up. So many people don’t quite “get it". The Maple Leafs in the 25 gram sheet are excellent. I have found that grains are seldom used. But I have seen grains used in silver bars.
Hello my husband has a big birthday coming up this month.. I would love to give him a surprise with the gold coin .God Bless you and your channel🙏 We love Harry and all the guys there! Carol Di Nenna
For me, smallest fractional I usually get is 1/25 oz fine gold coins, normally denominated African, Caribbean or Pacific coins.. smaller than that, even 1 gram doesn’t make sense because of the premium. My favourite fractional is Austrian 1 Ducat restrike.. it usually has the smallest premium. Other fractionals I like were 10 and 20 florin restrikes.. pretty obvious when you live in Europe
I've known about Goldbacks for a while, I've even seen places advertising they accept them! Im curious if the comments can convince me into getting any
I also have a complete set of one State's goldbacks. I think the premium over spot is more than 200%. I guess it depends on where you buy them. The 1/1000th of an oz was $5 when gold was $1750. I bought them as a collectible rather than bartering.
In the past there was a significant spread in the premium between 1oz gold and fractional but I’ve been buying fractional gold (at auction) from a reputable seller on eBay at spot or less. Most recently I bought a .98 fine ducat right at spot. My point is the amount u need to save up to get some small chunks of gold for low or no premiums isn’t that much right now. There are even examples of 1/20 oz eBay auctions where you can get gold for only $100-150 and the spot still is low and sometimes nil. I bought a 5 Yuan from the 80s…. But this hyperfractional I just don’t get it, esp considering that fractional gold isn’t that expensive. Possibly if one can’t afford to save for the fractional gold it might be smart to focus instead on silver?
In reality I believe we will need a network of like minded people stacking different products ( goods other than precious metals ) that will be needed. Precious metals plus essential goods for use and barter. Any thoughts, I am all ears ? Peace and blessings
I stack gold in 1 oz coins. I use Silver rounds/junk silver for fractional use/barter. I think the premiums on fractional gold need to come down for me to justify my purchase of it.
Numbers. Purchased goldbacks at $3.96 per $1.00 goldback. $2.04 value in gold. Cost per ounce $3960.00. Today gold value $2.37 per $1.00 goldback. I like the smaller denomination's however the $25.00 goldback is more costly then 1 gram of gold and the $50.00 goldback is in range of 2 1/2-3 grams.
fractional gold is small but is sort in the silver range for purchases. now if the premium for the fractional gold was as fractional as the gold based on an oz then fractional gold would be great. The only thing I see is size reduction. you would have to work out for your self whether that is worth the premium or not.
The hyperfractional Gold cards are neat, even have a few. Personally buy Merc dimes or even Rosy's instead though. Have a hard time justifying the premiums on the frac Gold for stacking or even prepping. If the deal was right, I'd get some more though. VT247
Hey Silver, just an update, bitcoin is almost at its all time high, not sure if I will sell all or partial sale to lock in some green. Hope you got in it about 2-months ago.
I think where these things utlimately fail is the visual inconsistency across the board. They all look so different and I can see people being hesitant to accept them in barter, with the exception of goldbacks, maybe. Do enough people know about them? I've seen videos where people in the "states of issue" try to use them and you have the find the right person in the store to run them in the register, etc. and that's if the store accepts them in the first place. I'm Florida and most dealers are only aware of them but have never seen them. Now, if GBs were to gain traction, especially in states where they are accepting PMs as currency then you'd really have something. If that were to happen, then I'd say they were almost better than silver because they would be easier to carry and transport clandenstinely (Sorry. I'm just in the mood to use big words today) if traveling in backstreet areas where there might be less protection (i.e. major roads blocked, etc.)
I personally don't "stack" anything under a tenth oz but they are definitely cool pieces. Id like to have one of each Goldbacks and build some sort of wall frame for it but i think its. E pretty crazy to stack them with that hibh of a premium. Yeah i don't plan on selling for years, if at all but youll NEVER get those premiums back unless you sell it to someone kn the community.
I’m about to start buying gold every month and was going to start with 1g until I realized the premium. I can’t afford 1oz bars , but I think I’ll start buying mostly 5g and some 2.5g bars

Thanks in advance!
Good question.
I like goldbacks. Don’t have many though. Just date run singles for novelty.
Great video man!
Thanks for the video!! As far as the shot goes. Can easily melt it into any size bar and it tests out at .999 fine. Probably the cheapest way to stack gold imo
where could i get gold shot?
Any legit wholesale supplier will carry it. It’s as close to spot as you can get…it’s how I stack most of the time
@@Rzucco8 alright cool I’m def trying to start stacking
I was waiting for a plug on the silverbacks 😂
Love your channel, subscribed & liked and we are now customers of Harrys !
Great presentation! 👍
"In Gold We Trust." I like that.
What about melting your own gold into 1 gr fractions with a mould or something
Not as easy to sell cause not highly recognized & trusted and won't get as much return because of this. Premiums you pay as well as Future premiums can make you extra $$ depending how & when u sell.
Great video !!
Hey homie even 1 ounce gold bars are “fractional”. Everything except the trade bars used between countries and raw product producers
Well, I have some gold foil postage stamp replicas.
@7:20 1/20th of a gram?
Nice content that isn’t readily available on UA-cam. I would never buy these to stack, collector only. Thanks for sharing this
I think the problem is the Goldback, is a relatively new money, and people have not been educated on what they are. I only found out about them today, (3-09-2024), and only by stumbling on them in a video about silver stacking. This looks really interesting though. This is REAL money, backed by the real gold contained in the bill, unlike the worthless paper we all carry around today.
Silver dragon, what is your opinion about the gold maple gram x25 ?
Question about gold backs and their specific states, can one buy and sell in another state not written on gold back?
If you can pick up hyper fractional for spot or just a bit over, then what's the problem? And yes I buy Goldbacks because I like them. Good video SD.
what is the web for the Goldbacks
I saw a video showing that a lot of Chinese people were buying gold beads for investment. Turns out that a lot of them were low purity.
I like 1 oz gold and silver coins, because the ping test works well on the 1 oz sizes.
Just bought 5 karatbars. 1gram ones in the card. All authentic for 300 Canadian.
I miss karatbars what happened to them
An internet search will give you lots to look at. Seems it was not the actual product(s) but how they were promoted and sold that was the issue.
@@RikKastle it had to be something to it that’s not being explained cause everything worked perfectly for me in fact too perfect I really wish I could get my in contact with someone there
I am in the uk they look very cool. If I were to buy them from apmex do u know of import costs I would pay?
I love Goldbacks
You didn’t mention Combi bars
good evening sd! most important reason buying fractional gold is cause black swan event , easy move around and easy amount sale, dollar collapse pay good and services, can carry $10000 no one notice it. yeah premiums are high but most small coin sometimes dont wanna buy large amounts gold so its very reliable and convenient option wealth preservation thx
So how many 1/4 grains equal an ounce - I'm confused lol
If one grain is .065 of a gram. That means 1/4 of a grain .0162 grams. There’s 31.103 grams in an oz. So 1,920 1/4 grains in an oz. $1.07 approx per 1/4 grain.
Thanks!@@TheBajamin
The very small amounts are necessary, if for anything, ‘change’ when bartering. I agree, hyper is a gram or at the very most, 1/10 ozt. Definitely, a huge premium but price will catch up. So many people don’t quite “get it". The Maple Leafs in the 25 gram sheet are excellent. I have found that grains are seldom used. But I have seen grains used in silver bars.
Excellent video
I bought a few goldbacks but doubt I will buy more. 1/10th oz is the smallest I can stomach the premium, and I am picky with that.
Waiting for more states to get into Goldbacks
💯 nice video on fractional gold .
Thx. Silver Dragon's. !!! 💯 # gold.
Hello my husband has a big birthday coming up this month.. I would love to give him a surprise with the gold coin .God Bless you and your channel🙏
We love Harry and all the guys there!

Gold is gold.
What about placer gold?
I'm assuming the hyperfractional pieces are useful in relatively poorer countries 🤷🏾♂️💸
All premiums aren't created equal but it's not that hard to shop around for the best price
I stack gold in 1 oz coins. I use Silver rounds/junk silver for fractional use/barter. I think the premiums on fractional gold need to come down for me to justify my purchase of it.
not a rip off because they don't misrepresent it but it is not a good idea in my opinion
Id like to see one with all the different assays that gold come in! Some are eye catching and collectible in their own rights!!!
I give my 3 granddaughters a 1oz Silver Round and a 1/2 -1 gram gold 🥇 every holiday and their birthday 🎂
Good. You make sense, unlike others here.
@@busterbiloxi3833how though? Children can’t even sell it and if they did they won’t get even close to spot.
That's a good idea. I gave my brother some silver coins for xmas but he didn't like them
I give my kids Goldbacks each month and silver on bday/holidays.

Hey Silver, just an update, bitcoin is almost at its all time high, not sure if I will sell all or partial sale to lock in some green. Hope you got in it about 2-months ago.
This past Friday, I was able to go to a gun show and bardered with silver and picked up 2 AR-15.
I love gold but I wouldn't want to be bartering for smaller stuff with it. I've bartered for more substantial things with gold, so it can be done
I like the smallest coin. It comes in a CD case, and the center punch in the package could be used as a 45 RPM adapter. I'd repurpose the package.
I'm hope I'm not around if we ever need to use gold and silver and a barter situation
It's a good idea to have fractional gold and silver. I wouldn't trade a 1toz of gold for food. 1toz can be used for bigger purchases.
I’m about to start buying gold every month and was going to start with 1g until I realized the premium. I can’t afford 1oz bars , but I think I’ll start buying mostly 5g and some 2.5g bars
Smallest i’ve got is a few 1/25’th gold coins. Only bought them because i got them for under spot.
A grain is 64.8 milligrams so about 15.4 grains to the gram
I’m a pharmacist. We still measure thyroid, phenobarbital, and morphine in grains on packaging
Man those premiums are low-key insane, I was complaining about a 20% premium I spent on silver coin. 😂
Silver is my hyper fractional gold!
