This was a wild car, ahead of its time. My uncle won a 1 year lease on one as highest bidder at a black tie charity auction in Detroit. I think he really enjoyed the car. His had the BMW engine. He was the kind of guy who wore leather driving gloves and probably special driving shoes. He was a paratrooper in World War II. I really miss him.
Fantastic Connie. I owned an '84 Givenchy with moonroof. The most incredible car ever owned. Gobbled up the interstate with a cushy air ride. Whomever purchased this, very lucky.
Having the body line from the back door to the end of the car (where to two paint colors meet) go level with the car and not drooping down made a big difference in the appearance to me. Simple, but effective.
I love Lincoln big cars of the late 1970,s and 1980,s, lots of leg room and comfortable for up to 6 passengers in those cars back then, Sincerely Richard and Paula Dodds,
My uncle had one of these. He had it for a couple of years, until he traded it in for a Fox body Mustang. “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go” by Wham! Playing on the radio, how appropriate for this car (being a 1980s car that is).
Beautiful looking car. I remember when this Continental was offered. I found it way more attractive than the Continental Town Car. It was a nice blend of old-school look with modern technology.
Gorgeous car! That two tone color is one of my favorites on this Continental. They look great also the that black with a bronzish brown 2 tone. I had a blue 86 was a nice car. Is the exhaust rotted out? It’s way too noisy. These cars should be seen not heard. Is she for sale??
@@xxtaas777Any recommendations on getting the woodgrain repaired or replaced? I have an 85 and the appliqué is in horrible condition and would like to get it fixed
@@Philfriction Hello, is it a base or designer series? One suggestion would be to check out car restoration shops, specifically upholstery shops and ask if they can restore genuine wood, this issue happens also to British wood dashes where they degrade over time. The continental's woodgrain is very thin so it can't handle much over time.
These were great cars they were very very sporty they had a lot of power with the gas V8 the only thing I can say about them bad getting in and out of the car if you're a large person the doors are rounded in on the top and they are very difficult to get in and out of without banging your head other than that they are excellent
its unfortunate, so many of these cars were way ahead of their time, now all we get is a bunch of look like suv boxes for fat people to drive...no sedans, no coupes...the world is turning boring

What a beautiful car. Nice color combination and it’s in excellent condition. Congratulations.
Real estate lady owned one in the movie Beetlejuice
One of my neighbors had a 86-87, It was a sweet car . This car is superb. Lincoln has lost its way in 2023. Lincoln, what a luxury car used to be.

Just saw this. I have my grandfathers 1987. Great car, but I can’t find white walls any more.

Bruh your tripping balls the 1970-1979 continentals were fantastic. this thing is cool in the weird 80s way
😂My givenchy did a wheelie when parked, low rider to the asphalt and watch it rise when started ‼️
Beautiful and sexy car. I love the Lincoln Givenchy 1987

Is your car for sale? I want it. I used to own one but it wasn't a Givenchy. I always liked the paint and yours is gorgeous.
I had a 1984 Valentino edition with the two tone gray and maroon paint it had the BMW turbo diesel how i miss that car
SUPER
The dash is so clean and modern on this one, nice car, but the proportions of the exterior are off, could have been cooler.
I love this car !!
The car matches the neighbourhood!
1:12 I recall certain model years had problems with the so-called woodgrain peeling off the dashboard? Do you know what years that was?
I have also seen those, it seems 1985-1986 models is what I have noticed it mostly although it began in 1984.
