I've tried to get the demo to try it out, but it won't let me download it without filling in the billing information, it doesn't ask for payment information only the billing address and name and such. Is there another way to try the demo before I decide to purchase it and give my information?
Just put in some fake billing address, it’s not needed at all for the download to work. I just can’t disable it in Shopify even if it’s for digital products

There’s no capability to send signals back to the device yet to trigger functions such as pad colours. It’s something on my long term roadmap but not sure when I’ll get to it :)

Anything that would accept a standard keyboard shortcut will work :) The tool essentially converts MIDI signals your computer receives into shortcuts / actions

hi, the app seems to be freezing after i try assigning the sound to a keypress, any ideas on how to fix it? i love the idea and would definitely buy it if it worked as intended. love the ui design

@@SurfacedStudio i think i was clicking "change", pressing a button, not clicking set and pressing assign, the app goes full grey and you have to restart it. you could block the option of clicking "assign" while changing keys. thanks for your dilligence!
@@SurfacedStudio oh, your program also does not differentiate between numpad 1-9 and normal 1-9 which is a shame, as that's 15 more keys someone could allocate.

Of course Jordan! I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the program. Can you assign any macro at all, e.g. launching an application or opening a folder? E.g. is it only the key presses that are failing or does no macro work?
Would you be able to send me an email / reply to the order confirmation you received? It's a bit easier to communicate via email so it doesn't get lost in UA-cam comments
@@SurfacedStudio thank you for the super prompt reply, actually i figured it out. seems like someone else in the comments had the same issue. you have to click teh 'SET' button before apply, if you dont, and click apply directly, the program bugs out. That being said, i ran into antoher issue. i set everything up and it was all working. I unplugged the controller to charge my phone and plugged it back and and the key mappings ahve changed. so it now identifies the same keys as different labels and diff buttons how active different shortcuts.
Glad you figured out issue #1. I have to put something in place to make it a bit clearer to SET any changes before returning to the main menu. For issue #2 could you try restarting your computer? Midi2Macro is not a particularly 'smart' program - it just responds to the midi signals it receives. However, I wonder if your OS now confuses the previously connected phone with the controller and the signals received are a bit scrambled. In Midi2Macro do you see the same assignments still - you're saying your MIDI controller just doesn't seem to trigger the same keys? Any chance you accidentally changed octave? You should be able to see what notes are being pressed in Midi2Macro :)
@@SurfacedStudio So what seems to have happened is that the software is now recogniziing different keystrokes and octaves when i use the akai mpk mini. when i was testing it before, if i pressed the bank a/b button to change the pads, it wouldnt register any keypresses at all. same thing when i increased or decreased octaves. so i had to set the octaves to neutral and teh bank to standard in order for key presses to register. Somehow, when i plugged it in later, it shuffled it all up and now keypressess are being registered on all octaves and the bank a/b for teh pads as well. and this introduces a whole new issue. There is an overlap as the pads get labelled almost the same as the black and white keys. with all of them getting notes. and so there is room for them to overlap. i think if there is a way to code the pads differently so they have their own dedicated button type as opposed to musical notes, it would resolve the overlap issue. happy to demo this for you if you need.

@@SurfacedStudio Have a look into the windows volume mixer, that's what I'm talking about, there should be a way to tie knob functionality to them similar to what go xlr does. But that's just for volume, there has to be a way to do it system wide. Imagine people doing graphics or 3d design, the power this would give them to map a slider to a knob when applying color grading or fine tune parameters. I do both music and design, and being able to use the same tool for both would be game changer, considering I have the arturia MK2 with a tone of knobs :D

I’m by no means a professional, I just do this on the side for fun :) Took about 6 months back in the days to get comfortable with AE for me

What is the difference between the demo and the paid app?
At the moment the Demo is limited to 5 macros max :) I need to add that to a startup popup to make it clearer
