I read this as steam deck, i was pretty confused on how it'd work with a raspi 😆
Yeah, that probably wouldn’t be a great experience 😂
me to
Same :D
OMG me tooooo!
I did the exact same thing
I'm genuinely thankful for your appreciation of our Elecrow Meteor Screen 10.1" IPS Capacitive Touch Screen. Our pleasure to be one part of your work! Good job 👍
I am glad to see someone else present a project in a prototype-y sort of state. It helps combat that notion that everything needs to be perfect or IS always perfect when making these sorts of devices/builds and associate videos. Thanks for keeping it real! Subbed!
Wow I subscribed you a long time ago and now you made a video about my software 😁
Thanks for using Macro Deck! I hope you‘ll enjoy it and there are many features planned for the future 😊
Woah! Super cool!
I'm really enjoying it so far. I'd love to chat about the software and maybe doing some kind of extended video or something in the future. Just reach out to my email if you're interested. No worries if not
Wow your the actual dev of this
Got to say it’s absolutely amazing i use this for just about everything
Got to say keep it up this is a godsend
@@ItsUltra_luxRay Thank you very much! 😃
two words, underrated channel
Some of your merch is pretty cool, i midgh buy the desk mat thing i think it looks really good
YES I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS VIDEO!!!
You has Raspberry Pi? That is like gold man!
only the pi 4
Haha true sadly
@@verglas7 Nah look at rpilocator, they're all unobtanium.
as soon as i saw this in the background i knew it would become a video at some point!
Tbh i like the setup as a raspberry Pi fan!!!!
This is really cool!
Well, there is a software called "companion".
It is used in combination with streamdeck, but it has a web ui test page
Great video my guy!
Glad you liked it!
Cool setup!!! : D
Thanks!
You know... I barely use my switch. I'm totally using that thing as a macro deck running on Android. Thanks for the idea!
For your premiere text, would a mogrt help you setup templates with the same color etc.. I haven't done any hardcore editing for a while but I remember you can use mogrt template and have very cool graphics that you can edit, some advanced mogrt require after effect while some can be done in premiere
I would love a video where we can see all the process you do to make a video, including all the things you added to this process to make it easier or better
Like filming and editing or more of the testing and such?
@@HardwareHaven Being honest both
@@danielmunoz88 Cool, yeah I might look into that!
@@HardwareHaven would also like to see your filming and editing process, as well as setup tour
My brother, this is pretty cool!
Thanks!
I think I'll just use my old android tablet that I don't use as the macro deck, thanks for the idea!
I use an old Asus Zenphone 2 and TouchPortal. Works just fine. can use an old 10" pad as well.
For sure! And I missed that macrodeck can also run as a web client, so even an iPad could work although I don’t know if there would be a latency penalty.
That being said, I still really like that it can function as a standalone display when needed
amazing video! ( :
Thanks!
Yay new hardware haven video (I’m late this time 😢)
Lol no you’re not 😂
Nice video, very interesting
Glad you enjoyed it
Btw every single time I read it as “steam deck” and “steam-pi” lol
you can run the stream pi client on android too btw
I use my old keyboard with stickers for the same perpose
Wouldn't any old kindle fire be cheaper than this touch display + raspi ? Then it just becomes a problem of getting some combination of android/locally served web page to do your macro things...
If only I had a touchscreen for my spare Pi 3...
Hey dude, there IS a way to get text presets in premiere, although it is not very user friendly. I already totally forgot how to do it lol but if you're interested I'll check on my work PC and report back to ya 🤙🏽
Hey Mate :) awesome vid have everything setup on my end its GREAT!!
can you tell me one thing tho i cant figure out how to open a web browser and go to a page with one button?? any help would be awesome thanks
For me I used the windows utils command line, then ‘start chrome “website URL”’
@@HardwareHaven Your a Legend mate thank you so much :)
No problem!
I've got around five or six Android tablets just laying around, I can easily write my own software to control them _like_ a stream deck but what I really want are physical buttons with mini-displays on them. I'm thinking of cheating it by using transparent switches over an Android tablet. I just have to finish the other 8,932,234 projects I've started and never completed.
hey Granpa, tell me again the story where you used to buy raspberry pi on the cheap, to replace more expensive hardware.
Can I ask how you got it to open webpages?
i used to use stream-pi, but the project has been dead for about a year (no new updates) also, half the promised features were never added, and half the features it does have, works half the time, if at all.. and on top of all of that, it's main developer left the project last year
Using this myself for obs and just thought I would let you all know EA pick it up and will kick you as they think your running macros for games like Battlefield 2042. Even set this up on an old Tablet and works a treat
Sadly no info about how it connects (or did i miss it) the android device and the pc, cable or wifi ?
pc usb to power it, so no data ..., macrodeck has webclient.
Yeah I missed that. I was running it over wifi for a while but the VIM1S seemed struggle a bit with wifi so I just ran Ethernet to it.
Is this video sponsored by Elgato? I've never wanted a stream deck more!
Haha clever. They are pretty sweet!
Rasberry pi is soo freaking hard to find and I wanna make some kinda kvm device that I don't need to use my own keyboard mouse and monitor
Yeah it’s tough out there
Raspberry Pi Icon -> Display Settings -> turn down resolution (i recommend 720p)
Why not just connect the display and touch directly to the PC?
Because it places the cursor where you tab the screen, meaning if you are in game, or working you would always have to move the mouse backt to where it was before
could macro-deck be used to monitor PC temps and power?
I don’t think there’s a plug-in for that, but that could be really cool!
You can use Aida 64 for that and only connect a small screen via hdmi, you don't need a pi for that
@@DieAgeLP I think he was asking if the app itself could have monitoring alongside the macr functionailty. Like have CPU temps on one of the tiles
@@HardwareHaven There are a temperature monitoring plugin in Macro Deck 2 called "GPU-Z Plugin".
@@jbcarreon123 oh dang, totally missed that haha
Can a cheap android tablet work for this?
Yep 👍🏻
@@HardwareHaven how would I do this on an android tablet?
Sorry if my question is dumb.
İ made Minecraft server to your video but my friends can't join
They are sourcing these panels from China and slapping RGB lights along with higher price on them. You can get the same thing much cheaper if you don't need an RGB.
seems like a pi 3 / zero 2 would be better for this
For sure, which is why I said I wish it worked better in the lower end stuff.
$50-100 Android tablet is an ideal solution for a Macro Deck.
For sure! I like being able to grab the screen for other things when needed though
Micro USB for power on a small monitor is a big FAIL, that'll break within a year or two....😕
Yeah, USBC would’ve been appreciated
Why build or buy something that can be replaced with an app? Deckboard is a thing, you know.
android tablet wih macrodeck seem easier solution.
Hi
- Only 800 pixels tall, not 1080.
- Micro (?) USB connectors.
- RGB defaults on
Sigh... I hope it's $50.
For a screen that size I don’t think the resolution is too big of an issue personally.
The stand quality and rgb default was a huge bummer though haha
The stream-pi website is dead.
we talking about stream deck diy, not rgb and watts usage akhhhh
You are talking a bit too much like an old aunty come to the point man
Probably you can automate some things even more, using Auto Hot Key, and addressing ahk scripts from the Deck. It is quite a learning curve, though; @taranvanhemert has a good course on this)
While setting up a Raspberry Pi, I always change the name of raspberry Pi in the raspberrypi.local option but never be able to access it through
Any Idea??
Your network doesn’t support bonjour
@@HandBuilt Any idea how to fix this ??
