    This style of fishing is called trotting, very traditional in England and still one of the best methods for catching fish from a boat in fast water. Longer the Rod the better.
    Rather than pulling from the drag/baitrunner you can just open the bailarm and feather the line with your finger.
    Great video

    Thanks for the new video Scotty!
    Ever think of making a Sydney harbour jewfish video? Would love to see you have a crack at a prize nighttime mulloway.
    Also, I want to come on one of your singles fishing charters. Reckon you'll do one at the end of this month?

    Great video, how far off the bottom do you keep your weed? There are a few places i want to try, one of them is the wharf you use at sans souci. I also want to try another place that im not sure how deep it is but its pretty shallow

    • @TheHookandTheCook
      @TheHookandTheCook  6 років тому +1

      Sans Souci wharf is a great spot Ive seem many anglers catching Black fish their. Bait about 500mm to 1000mm off bottom should do good luck. Thanks for tuning in and please subscribe to our channel and share with

    i've tried the weed berley but sadly all i managed to get were spotties/wrasse and 1 baby parore/luderick but i recon i was fishing in a bad moon phase. they fight really especially on light gear lol

      Luderick can be tricky to crack especially in a new are and time on the water will help , try different tides and i always found they are difficult after some decent rain .
      Local knowledge will help you if you can get any , especially when it comes to getting bait as many fishos keep this a closely guarded secret .
      Your moon phase idea could come into play as it along with the sun control the tide heights and too much run in the water can make float fishing really Hard .

      because it turns a simple cheap rig that works into an expensive one, which it really doesn't need to be. $10 for a float, no thanks ill stick to the $2 or DYI options

      you never mentioned that Blackfish come on the bite at certain times ..I found in the river it is half runout tide till just the turn of the run in that is when they are hungry
