    I think the Methylated Spirit method is really good. Even when frozen they are still flexible enough to thread them on the hook. I use Ethanol which does the same as metho. Fish doesn’t seem bothered and are attracted just the same. Unlike frozen worms, the metho method keeps them flexible.

    To keep them alive the best method i've found is a damp hessian bag with about a cup of moist sand inside, keep cool and in a shady spot and they stay alive and in good condition for about 5 days

    Roger, my sons & I only recently discovered your videos, and are catching worms for the 1st time after many prior failed attempts, so thanks for what you do. To the point, I've read from some who put the worms to sleep in the fridge for an hour before soaking them in metho, as this anesthetizes them to the pain.

    G'day Rodger. I've been watching quite a few of your videos as I've never been beach fishing before. A mate and me are going to Paynesville for a weeks solid fishing and I'm hoping that I can remember all or most of the techniques that will be applicable to use on site. This will test the old grey matter at least its all easy to follow info. Very informative thanks very much.

    Hi roger , I am a big fan of you . Can you teach me how to catch stingray by using surf rod . Thanks

    • @RogerOsborneFishing
      @RogerOsborneFishing 4 роки тому +1

      Hi Tightline Thailand. Stingrays are not something that we target in Australia. Usually they are a pest and we just throw them back. Stingrays eat most baits, they cruise along the bottom and suck up whatever they can find. To focus on sting rays you would need to fish mainly sandy and muddy areas and make sure that your bait is on the bottom.
      In Australia they like worms, squid, pieces of fish etc
      Regards Roger.

    With your metho method have you noticed any change over the last few years? Have to carefully read label on metho now, it used to be 95% ethanol and 5% methanol the clear stuff.. but nowadays even most of the clear products have up to 1% bittering agents to stop people drinking it

    G’day Roger,
    Love the videos. I have used metho preserved worms and can vouch for them being affective. I am curious as to why the scent/taste of the metho doesn’t deter the fish? Any ideas?
    Cheers

      Hi Ian, I don't know how we would know. We would need to be able to talk to the fish 😂 The main thing is that we know it works in practice. My dad used to do it 50 years ago.

      We have them in the Eastern US and they are called blood worms especially from North Carolina to Maine.
      HERE in Northeast most bait shops keep them in "Chinese" rice box (take out containers) with some seaweed and placed in fridge.
