No other retailer has been able to provide consumers the ease of service and support that Sears Roebuck provides. Service videos, parts schematics, the ability to buy parts for all of their products. It saddens me that the company is failing.
@@searspartsdirect i own an older 26 " craftsman electric start snowthrower model 247.883700 that i bought used in 2015 since it did not come with an owners manual i downloaded one myself and put it neatly in a binder. Nowhere in there does it mention about greasing the auger gearbox.i do see in the parts blowup of the gearbox there is a PLUG so i assume this can be removed for lube. Is there a procedure in doing so and if so what type grease or lube to use. THANK YOU!!
Idealy yes, its never a good idea to put an engine on the side full of oil, anyways, its only about 3/4 of a quart, so you do your oil change by the same time! Quick and easy maintenance! ;-)
I got a belt from the site and installed it but after a few uses it stretched and now the auger doesn't spin, is there an adjustment or was it a junk belt? Poulan pr624es
That Canadian snowblower model is similar to the snowblowers that we show in our maintenance and repair videos. You can use the videos on our channel for basic repair and maintenance advice. We can look up parts for that Canadian model even though we don't have the parts diagrams listed on our website for that model. Let us know if you need part numbers and/or repair advice with your snowblower and we'll try to help you.

I have a C950-52110-2 I am in need of the manual for it, but I cannot locate it on the Sears site. It seems the Auger pulley is not aligned with the pulley on the motor (off by about 1/4 inch or less) so the auger belt keeps breaking. I just got this machine used, not sure if it has all the right parts. Maybe there is a spacer missing on the motor end pulley or has the wrong pulley ? or maybe the worm gear shaft was replaced with one that is slightly too short? that is why I really need the manual. When I called sears parts I got the correct part # for the auger belt 3887ma and the drive belt 1733324sm. Any help would greatly appreciated.

"Clamp the drive lever to the handlbar" does that give you room to remove the auger belt? On mine, there is not enough room to remove or install the new auger belt.
I figured that most Craftsmans would be the same so I undertook this fix. This did not work on my machine. I actually had to "break it apart" using the four screws holding the engine-piece" to the "auger-piece". It wasn't bad, just four screws and it tilted apart enough to get the old belt off and the new one one. I had already taken the bottom pan off but I didn't have to. You can do the whole thing from the top by breaking it apart. Mine is Craftsman "Snow Thrower 8,5 Horsepower Electric Start 27" Dual Stage Model 536.881851"
This is how instructional videos are supposed to be done. Four minutes long, clear, informative.
Excellent video! Short and to the point with very clear illustration - thanks!
Clear as can be ... thank-you!
thank you, belt came off, thought was gonna have to take in and shovel by hand while waited to get back, with this video did myself pretty easy
Every video helps . I might decide to change my belts today. I think I’ll drain the gas and oil first to play it safe.
Thanks for this information. Other videos made it seem harder.
This vid helped me change my auger belt for the first time. Thank you!
Thats pretty impressive, doing all that with those gloves on. Thanks
This is way easier than other versions. Thanks
Just what I needed to see thank you!

What to do when idler pulley is no longer putting tension on ground drive belt?
So that's what they look like when they're new!
How did it drive? Because the drive belt was not on the pully all the way and he put the cover back on
Good catch. The snowblower won’t drive well if that belt slips off during reassembly. Make sure the drive belt stays on the pulley during reassembly.
i saw that to !!
@@searspartsdirect Thank you both for noting this! I'll keep that in mind when I do this myself.

most snowblowers allow you to adjust the idle pulley, to tighten it. Hope this helps!

Clear, but not well done- drive belt is not in its driven pulley placed correctly
