  • The wooden drum has long been of significance in the Wa ethnic culture. From the olden times, the drum has been regarded as the medium through which Wa people talk to the grain god. The wooden drum is still the most noble and sacred musical instrument. Follow CGTN's Yang Xinmeng into this centuries-old Wa village in southwest China's Yunnan Province to find out the stories of the wooden drum and trace the origin of the Wa ethnic group. #China #GoYunnan #GoChina

Yunaan province is historically and culturally basically part of south east asia and some of it is also Tibetan land... the Chinese just renamed it Yunaan after annexing it . The ethnic minorities in Yunaan are closely related to ethnic minority tribes in Burma. Tibetan land( the size of western europe) , on the other hand, was divided into 6 different Chinese provinces including Yunaan province which is the province where most of China's ethnic minorities live including the Wa people.

I just tracked whom I think was a tribe in the lead of the biblical Israelite horde during the Joshua years and this group is identical to the kagani of New Caledonia whom are the tribe I was tracking using history and symbol reading. That search led me to a place in India called Karnataka, whose flag has all the symbolism i was tracking with all in one package. The chinese have their own. They are han and have sinitic branch linguistically. Nagas are tibeto burman branch which has its own group(Tibet, Burman and some south east asian). CULTURALLY, Nagas(including the other tibeto burman branch group) are more similar to Southeast asian compared to chinese(han ). GENETICALLY, the Tibeto Burman groups are more distant to east Asians(Chinese) as compared to South east Asian. So we are not from china in a sense and has a more complex origin from various regions like Southeast Asia,Tibet, Burma region.
ALSO THE WA TRIBE MENTIONED HERE, LINGUISTICALLY THEY ARE AUSTROASIATIC BRANCH SO THEY HAVE a common (NEARER)ANCESTOR TO MOST SOUTH EAST ASIANS AND THE KHASIS OF MEGHALAYA rather than the Nagas.

Even in my Tribe Konyak in Nagaland State Mon district North East India which is closed to Yunnan province china, we have WA clan called Walim. On this ethnic group more research must be done. And Pongting village means it could be royal offshoots as Ahom and Shan of Burma and Konyak, Wancho and Tangsang Naga tribes chiefs are Pong royal offspring. In konyak dialect Wang means Chief or King and water also called "Ti". These similarities shows that our Konyak, Wancho and Tangsang were escaped from the Great Wall of China and settled in Yunnan province and subsequently migrated to present territory.
We have Yenlong clan in Konyak and other Nagaland tribes clan of same yenlong are Imlong, Yimsong and Yimlong.
Thank you for the information. I'm Research Scholar.

@@johnylalrina1451 Yunaan is a fabricated place. It did not exist before the CCP takeover of China. Basically, ethnic minorities living next to South east asian border were all lumped together and a province was created. Tibetans in places like Shangri-la ( now part of Yunaan) were incorporated into Yunaan. Tibetan areas was divided into 6 different provinces by the CCP for instance. Prior to Chinese invasion, Tibetans had 3 provinces. The North east indian like tribal minorities including Mizo people more likely have more in common with Burmese and perhaps Laotian and other South east asian people than Han Chinese people culturally and lifestyle wise. You just have to look at minority tribes in places even like Malaysia and even there, you might see somethings that remind you of Naga or Mizo people.
