- I had to get genuine mikuni carb kits as the cheap ebay kits just arent any good.
I am no carburetor expert so this video is just what I did to fix my own carbs. If you enjoy my content or find it helpful then subscribe to the channel. If you are the generous type and like to support content creators my paypal is moate1@msn.com
Good Kevin. You'll get there.
I cant believe you watch this stuff.
I like watching to see how much you're learning. Lol
Appreciate the video. Couldn't agree more about using only genuine Mikuni after I also wasted money on aftermarket kits and had nothing but trouble. I also can't stress enough the importance of testing the pop off after rebuilding.
The problem I run into is getting the correct popoff setting information. Many forums give it but if you read furthrr you will see that many posts they have changed the jets and those setting wont work right with stock jets.
You want to make sure you always check your pop off pressure if you don't you will have nothing but problems
Absolutely true.
How do you go that?
hello very good video, where I can get that manual for Yamaha vxr 650 it would be of great help 😀😀
I dont know but google is a great way to find things.
Hey Kevin I have a question. I just rebuilt my carbs in my gp800r and I was left with 2 small rubber o-rings and figure out where they go to. Any idea what they are for? Also thank you for the video very helpful!!
The needle screws have tiny orings AND a tiny washer inside. They dont always come out if you unscrew it.
How do you test the pop off pressure? Tube in a bike pump? And how do you adjust if it doesn’t happen by 77?
First you have to know what it is supposed to be. A stock 800 with the stock jets should popoff at 78-81. Larger jets were installed on a lot of them and the popoff lowers with the larger jet to about 55. You have to know what jets are in your carb.
If you are using any kits other than genuine mikuni you are making a huge mistake which may cost you an engine. Going cheap on carb kits is a very bad idea. The mikuni kits come with springs which usually popoff at the correct pressure. Cutting the springs is the only way to lower popoff.
I can never get away without putting a pin hole in the little grommet for the one way fuel check valves. What kind of issue would this result in.
I read if you purtan electric fuel pump on the ski then you have to remove those clear circular discs as they work with the pulse lines. I never tried it. So I would guess it would cause fuel pressure problems which these skis can have.
A bent clear valve causes problems AND apparently they have issues with pressure imbalances which is cured by installing a modified jet in the return line.
This has mostly been an issue on the 3 cylinder models. There is a thread on Greenhulk about it.
Oh and watch Ericsson machine and performace video on building Mikuni carbs. He shows you the special tool made for installing that black button that you are mentioning. Mikuni makes it. It looks like a pin punch.
Do you think that will make any difference on how install the check valves is that line facing up is just for easy installation or s for it to perform right because the kit didn't have any instructions or said anything about it thanks
The valve is ever slightly concave, so it seats properly when you install it the correct way.
Did the good gasket kit fix your problem ?
Yes
Hey great video.. could you drop the link for the rebuild kit also would you know where to get the hi/low pins
I got the kits new on ebay. I think SBT sells mikuni kits but they are not branded as mikuni sbt also sells the carb parts.
Real deal, aftermarket crap Know way. Not for carbs on water craft.😉😉😉😉
کیت بازسازی از کجا میتونم تهیه کنم باتشکر
I am ignorant in understanding arabic. I hope the video was useful.
thank you ! however, I suggest to do and show things in order instead of stop and spend too much time about quality comparison. Americans always tend to say chinese this chinese that, but the fact is it all depends. Nowadays, I can see that somwtimes American products are shitty anyway ... nothing to pround. Look atnAmerican cars then you can tell if they are built with quality or not .. I would never buy one. I buy German or Japanese cars only.
@MyTran-ow2ij Trust me those ebay kits are garbage. Mikuni is a Japanese company and their tolerances for products are far superior to chinese products. Any japanese bearing is far better than a chinese one.
No American company makes jet skis anyway. The closest you can get is seadoo and I am not impressed with their stuff. I dont buy american cars either for the same reason.
This video was to show how bad chinese kits truly are. You waste time and money buying crap.
