I want to thank you so much for posting this, Palo has been my fav state park since i was a teen ager. It was my Mothers happy place. It has a special and spiritual place in my heart. I live so close , i really need to visit more often.
When I was a boy in the 1950s, we lived in the Texas Panhandle. The Palo Duro is a precious memory of that time. I would often talk about it when I was raising my children. One day, my youngest daughter asked, "Dad, can we go see the Palo Duro Canyon?" So, she and my wife and I went out there from Oklahoma. As we began the descent into the canyon, I heard a gasp of surprise from my daughter. She was stunned by its beauty. And now, it is a special memory for my daughter.
I was the campground host at the canyon rim RV park when you were their. My first time n the park was during ww 2, at that time the road down and into the canyon was unpaved and almost all buildings were CCC built. Much has changed sense then, but it is still a wonderful to visit. pHIL
