- What an amazing landing! Great view of the incredible 14,411 foot tall Mount Rainier as we approach and land on Runway 34R! Watch as we float along the runway and then touch down with awesome reverse thrust! Amazing clear skies, beautiful blue lakes and lush green forests everywhere! Excellent service! Fantastic CFM engine sound! Check out all the airplanes atSeattle--Tacoma International Airport! Filmed from the First Class cabin on board Delta Airlines! Flight 581 from Salt Lake City. 7/3/13.
Please feel free to check out my channel for more fantastic aviation footage! / @mah584jr
Landings don't get any better than that!
Just flew out of Seattle yesterday and saw Mt Rainier poking up through the clouds. Such a cool sight to see.
I'm flying into SEA for my vacation on the 29th. I visited for about 5-6 months and I loved it. Washington is a very beautiful state!
That's fantastic! I agree, Washington is a very scenic and diverse state from West to East! I hope you enjoy your vacation!
That was one helluva landing. Clap clap to the Captain/First Officer. Whoever had that leg lol.
So many trees!!
Yes, the Pacific Northwest has a lot of trees!
Wow, vary cool. And as far as I know rare. I thought RWY 34R/16L was almost always Exclusively used for takeoffs.
Another great video! coming a bit fast there.......
Coming here in 5 months
I have a cousin in Utah. He usually flies to Shanghai on Delta by way of Seattle.
It's definitely a convenient connecting point for flights to the Pacific!
Since driving here from the Midwest last Fall to live permanently in the Seattle area----which I love btw----I wondered what the aerial view was like. So thanks for giving me a sneak preview until I have a chance to fly over this beautiful city via commercial flight. The Space Needle only gives us a limited view. I want to see it from 25, 30k feet. But good job!
Seattle is a beautiful city from the air when the sun is out! There are so many lakes and mountains and in the summer there are so many people boating and fishing. Looks awesome from in the air.
Something interesting, is that from the time an aircraft begins its descent from its cruising altitude to the time it touchdowns on the runway, it's slowed its speed from about 600 mph to about 200 mph (and slows from there with engines reversing). And, the plane's runway speed is faster at take-off speeding up to about 240 mph right before lift-off, to about 350 mph by the time it's about a mile up (about 3 minutes after lift-off), to 600 mph by 30,000 - 35,000 ft cruising altitude. Taxiing speed to/from terminal is usually around 30 - 35 mph (well, between that and full stop, depending on waiting situation and the line waiting for take-off)
that is why i choose to live in washington
Mah, 2 thumbs up for the view of Mount Rainier! I was there 12 years ago for the Bumbershoot Festival. Beautiful shots as always.
Richard Fleer That sounds cool! It's very scenic! Glad you liked the video so much! Thank you for the comment!
Had a midnight landing at SeaTac where we cruised from the south below hilltop levels and executed an awesome flyby of downtown before making a U turn and coming in.
Awesome Mt. Rainier from the WING TIP :-)
Awesome Sharing !
beautiful!!!
beautiful view! I want to visit Seattle so much! Hopefully I can go soon.
It is indeed! Glad you liked the view so much! I hope you get the opportunity to visit!
***** Take the high speed ferry from downtown Seattle to Victoria, BC, Canada !!
A float
Most of this is south of Tacoma as the airport (SeaTac) is a 15 minute bus ride from downtown Seattle.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
did the same apporach last month 2 but on alaska! Love that approach :)
She is a mighty mountain indeed! Great zoom and fantastic video
Great video as always!
Seems like you have vacations every week! Thanks for the videos!
I understand this mount is located in the middle os State Line Washington-Oregon
No, it's located solely in Washington!
lailasalas That's Mt. Hood you're think of.
Looks like an endless village with lots of trees and forests. Is this Seattle? Not quite the city from the pics though...
The city itself is North of the airport! We approached from the South! It is a very lush area!
Yes. I live in Seattle, and that approach was over Tacoma. If you were coming from the other direction, you would’ve been right over Seattle.
Wow...! Great video and very soft landing!
Nice video. You were directly above my house at about 1:36. I probably helped build that airplane.
WOW! It was absolutely beautiful out that day! I hope you were able to get around a lot to enjoy that weather. Amazing video, as usual. :)
Stunning video! Amazing approach! Amazing scenery! Well done :)
Nice video!! Great view of the mountain! Straight to my favorites! :)
Cool. I asked someone what side of the plane Rainier would be on and they said ; it sounds like there are 2 approaches into Seattle. One guy said more than likely on the approach from Denver it would be on the left-side of the plane.
Great vid!!! liked, subbed, and turned on notifications :)
Do you fly for a living?
where was the incredible part???
