Having a power flush tomorrow after having a new boiler and new radiators installed. Just wondered what's involved so glad I saw this video.

Lots people got conned into those spirotech mb3 but there handy if you want to flush a system out using the boiler loop with boiler off. get rubber malot and bang along the top and bottom of your rads.turn the trv's all on full abd then all the lockshields off apart from one and once flushed turn off the lockshield and continue with the rest of the rads until thecwater runs clear to remove the cleaner. for novices buy a eezyflow device to screw into the rad at top to dose ya system.no need to pay 400 to conman plumber.fit one lockshield/drain valve add 1 meter garden hose and spend a hour or two draining he system at the start but this won't flush water under floor boards as there is not enough pressure hence why I said use your magnafilter if you have on else use your drain valve instead. if your system has not been done in 10 years no power flushing will remove stuck on black sludge but your can get those cold at the bottom rads to work again. get some aladdin autovents with replaceable cartridges.

Modern boilers are absolute rubbish imo.I had a lovely standalone potterton with a discrete extractor to outside wall that was ok for 30yrs.Now got new boiler a wall of ugly pipes a ugly condense pipe on my outside wall.Got to pay a joiner hundreds to box in.Was told it would save £300 a year haha boiler cost £3,000 so after ten years got money back if boiler lasts that long,Then I will have to buy a new one because “can,t get the parts anymore” aaarrrgghh sick of people telling me if regulations.Got ugly cleaner sticking out.Boiler not strong enough to power thru boilers so got to have a powrr flush £400 .haha what a joke and all on me.

Your boiler was old and tired Jack , thats why you had to get a new one, it was broken. You boxed it in because you wanted to , that was your choice. The old one was built like a tank but it was inefficient so yes it will save money . Thirty years in the same house seems like a nice place to be in , count your blessings Jack

@@paulbolton6486 All you say its v v true .However its ok to be sad about losing a faithful friend if only for a while.I did not choose to box the new boiler it had to go on the kitchen wall and high up for the Condense pipe, leaving me with a wall of pipes and an ugly black filter.A stand alone is not available.

@@paulbolton6486 Nobody would service my Potterton they just offered a new one over £3k.how much money to save will pay for that.

Just to add to the schardenfreuder my condensing boiler cost £3.84 from ebay, has worked for 6 years ok, and all inlet and outlet pipes were virtually in the same place as the old boiler, so just one elbow required. And the condense pipe was directed into the soil stack; how about that, Jack! Sorry. Ouch! Love you all! Oh, and just bought a powerflush machine for £100. lol
