Did you do a part 2 ? I saw one of these on Craig's List, and wasn't exactly sure of what it was, and if all the parts were there... it's a "turtleback" version. Seller only has one photo... not sure if there is suppose to be a bracket like you show--doesn't appear to be one in the photo. So nice to find videos on here that shows how they work ! I'm really tempted to go look at it and buy it... I would probably have to build a bench to go with it... and maybe another building to put it in !😀
Oh, and I'm almost done with one of them!! It's in pieces all cleaned up. I am going to hit up a few of the large pieces with a sand blaster to finish it up, but its in great shape so far!
Yea, send me an email kentuckyhomestead@gmail.com I'll get back to you. It's been a few years, but I know some people and I'll try to get you an answer.
I tore the first one all down and cleaned it up really well, but got a new job, new home, etc.. its sitting on my work bench ready to be painted and reassembled.
Richard Harris I haven't done them yet.. I got caught up in a million other projects. I started the tear down and got one all cleaned up, and just need to fire up the sand blaster to finish getting rid of some of the junked up paint.
Fair enough :) I did just catch a couple of your other videos which I thought explained why you may not have gotten to it. My dad has a not too dissimilar vice I'm thinking of fixing...
Richard Harris I bought them to use, I saw one in action a year ago or so and decided I definitely need one in my shop, whenever I get a shop that is :)
I'm doing a big yost p-makers vise, it too had a broken back. good luck.

Wow, I have seen these laying around at flea markets and had no clue what I was looking at! Learn something every day...
If you can pick them up and make them look good again they can be worth quite a bit of money.. I paid 350 dollars each.

Looking forward to the part 2. Thanks for the video.

Where’s part 2 of the Emmett pattern maker’s vise rebuild? Was the video ever made?
Did you ever get to restore these pattern makers vises?
They are still in my garage. I still haven't started them.. just a bunch of other projects keep coming up.
What became of part 2 of the Emmert rehab?
I tore the first one all down and cleaned it up really well, but got a new job, new home, etc.. its sitting on my work bench ready to be painted and reassembled.
I can't find the second video... were these never completed?
