The lack of workers rights in the US is the problem. In the UK for instance, we get 28 days of government mandated holiday. On top of that, we can call in sick if needed. And the idea that people sick needing to find someone to cover them is insane! What's the manager doing?! Whoever came in while sick probably felt like they had to. Doesn't have to be that way.
