Marvelous sound for the oboe player. Some players get so shrill on this piece, and I love that he has such a round, lovely sound. Beautiful performance all around
This is after my taste the best oboeplayer I have listend to on UA-cam. Because of his sound,very few players in the world plays like that. I know one more….Thanks to the soloist!!!

His oboe is unrivaled by any other oboes
Fabulous performance from the Soloist, beautifully supported by a very fine orchestra. I love the full rounded sound of the Oboist who demonstrates wonderful dynamic variation and control. Vaughan Williams is very much entrenched in British music so it’s lovely to hear his beautiful music reaching far and wide.. Thank you to the Oboist you did a spectacular performance and you really got to what this Concerto is all about which makes me wonder if you studied in England at some point. I’m utterly spellbound, truly spellbound. .

You gotta love the oboe -- opening a box and choosing just the right reed for the task at hand... Reminds me of all those many years ago, when at music camp, the oboists and bassoonists had to take reed making classes while the rest of us were goofing off or something. I admired them for their dedication...

I was a clarinetist but had to make an oboe reed in a woowdwinds class. Mine looked like a disaster but "crowed" when I blew on it. The prof was very disappointed, as that fulfilled the assignment. He hoped that I would have to make another one. Thank God, I didn't, as reed-making is not easy to do.

Violoncellokonzert von Penderetzky geperrt ist: Bravo Bravissimo for Maestro Roi Ruottinen!!! und großes Lob an seine Kollegen und Leif Segerstam, den ich in den 80er Jahren als Jungspund im RSO Wien erleben durfte. Ebenso Bravo Bravissimo an Takuya Takashima, der zu den besten Oboisten zählt, die ich erleben durfte!!! Danke an mein Lieblingsorchester für die vielen schönen Mitschnitte!
