I think performing Mozart in new innovative ways is fine. Only if you're making a period instrument interpretation does the original interpretation really matter.
слишком академично
Thank you very very much for sharing this priceless gem. This marvellous symphony is undoubtedly one of the very greatest orchestral masterpieces from Sibelius', who is certainly one of the greatest symphonists of the early 20th century, and, of course, this interpretation by Segerstam is extremely impressive.
I just learnt that Segerstam is also a composer with ... wait for it ... 371 symphonies under his ample belt.
It's been a very long time for a new update.
Too slow......
これ程に、ゆったりと。気持ち良く聴かせてくれるシベリウス2番は、初めてです✨ 今後も。彼のCDを探します! オーケストラのメンバーも、素晴らしいです! ビューティフルサウンド♡
It is a pitty that there are so many people coffing in this magnificient performance
So far, great interpretations and good sound. At the very least, no ads every few minutes. Will be staying atuned to Turku. Sibelius!
A consummate, magnificent performance. 🥂
That was well done! But the snare drummer should have had a special place the whole time, maybe the upper right, since he's the one there through the whole thing!
Santa Claus is a conductor as well
Wow!
Sibelius admired Bruckner and that inspiration does show in his music. Bruckner heard through very Finnish ears and the inimitable Finnish landscape.
Que público tan frío,esos aplausos están congelados...
Am practicing now
Alright fellow oboists how much we think his oboe costed (great oboist though i strive to sound that good)
El adagio del segundo movimiento es de una tristeza llevada a lo sublime.
Absolutely heavenly!
In a few minutes of listening I found a number of points where I would take issue with his reading, starting with his oblivion to B's pedaling on page 1. His most prominent idiosyncracy seems to be his love of staccato, where it is not indicated in the score, and this is evident in several recordings of his. His technique is great though.
The third movement is played so well, considering that I also play the oboe! Thank you for playing this! This gives me an idea of how to play for my scholarship exam in 2 months! Again, thank you Takuya!
Очень круто! Сибелиус гений!
Kiitos
Sibelius. Conducted by Odin.
Brava Ansku, todella hienosti sotettu!
True Maestro of our Century, a rare species. His music so pure, so true, so unstained by commercialism. His dedication and passion for music is none to match in recent years in Western Classic Music scene. Maestro touches everyone's heart, full standing ovation is, ofcourse fully deserved for great Musician such as Him. Bravo!! Thank you for your music! May you live long!!
Performance by a Maestro none to match. Period
This is the lowest rated of Sibelius symphonies. I find this regrettable. So many nice themes in this, and what a joy to listen to! I associate to a working day, it begins with the morning light in the first movement and people go out to their working day. During this day many things happen, both joyful and more serious. It is as near a patoral Sibelius comes! And the most joyful symphonie he wrote.
Excuse me: It is as near a pastoral Sibelius comes.
Not sure it is the "lowest rated", it is just ignored by too many. Doesn`t end loud, audiences have to really listen, no big tune but to the Sibelius lover it is pure gold.
Supremely beautiful
I love this symphony best in Sibelius's works and two oboist performance by Takuya Takashima and Jun Saotome looks incredible for me.
Please describe more details about this performance, date, conductor's name.😊 Because I love this big-man maestro's performance.
Божественная музыка!
Absolutely sublime!!! Incredible performance!
Ahora si , oboe es el instrumento para este concierto , magnificga interpretacion ❤
Kiitos, hieno esitys!
Beautiful and inspiring play
The way those strings steadily surge forth to that peak of a finale...heart smiles blissfully!
Now I ask you - - have you EVER seen such extreme head shaking and rwitching? Is it some sort of medical condition, or does he simply feel that these ghastly mannerisms add dramatic "punctuations" or something? And if that weren't distracting enough, there's the constant "tourette's Syndrone"-like high-rising arm thrusts. He should be made to watch videos of his stage displays. To the "just-close-your-eyes-and-listen" crowd, I say that these videos, for heaven's sake, are MEANT to be watched, aren't they? These visual quirks are, for me, at least, sufficiently distracting as to 'take me away' from the music, thereby discouraging any assessment of his playing. I've never seen anything quite like this - - he's really unwatchable.
So clearly you haven't played an instrument before i have played the piano although not nearly as well😂 but these twitching and mannerisms are the result of two things pure joy from the music and more importantly it is like an inner clock and metronome like for example the sudden hand lifting is a standard technique pianist employ to improve timing otherwise you wouldn't see literally every other professional pianst doing it,and yes you are only suppose to listen to the music this is not a performance
@@marcoatef8669 I highly doubt that many viewers could possibly agree with your utterly absurd "explanation" pf this pianist's hopelessly distracting mannerisms (including his never-to-be-encouraged 'hand lifting' which serves no purpose). If it means anything at ALL to you, I've taught music for 32 years, and have performed 14 concertos with orchestras.
@@richardvolpe7664 In a few minutes of listening I found a number of points where I would take issue with his reading, starting with his oblivion to B's pedaling on page 1. Regarding his mannerisms I have seen some other pianists with odd mannerisms (eg LangLang) as well as dress and they are distracting for some people. I would like to separate the two things, personally.
My god! Is there such a thing as "head twitching disease"? And the jerky high arm-lifts are so distracting. Also, as I've mentioned elsewhere, what's with his using the music score for every public performance? There's nothing more easily memorizable than Mozart.
Reading from the score? With one of the most easily memorizable sonatas ever penned by Beethoven? He'd better steer clear, then, of Szymanowski's 2nd and 3rd sonatas! And what's with all the perspiring, the head twitching (unnecessary and distracting!) and the crazy arm display? He must've had a teacher who, because of suffering from"legato-phobia," encouraged his pupils to play in as detached a manner as possible - - a 'staccato paradise.' This approach lends itself, one might say, to an unfortunately anti-dramatic (anti-Pathetique?) atmosphere, even comedic. I suppose this style of playing would be often appropriate in Prokofiev, Bartok and Ginastera, but it clearly goes against the grain in a work of this sort. And if I may say one more thing about his perspiring, how could he ever get through something like Liszt's "Mazeppa?" He'd have to do the James Levine thing with a bath towel slung over his shoulder.
These really are performances to treasure. Great performances. Great-hearted, lean and strong, finely honed, and full of fire and delicacy. I find I cannot live without them: thanks for putting them in the Ethernet, so we may bring them down to earth, wherever we are. Bravi a tutti!
great sound recording
Sibelius is grossly underestimated. He wasn't just a composer, he was an architect of greatest musical forms, like Beethoven and Brahms.
Much better than Brahms...
I discovered Sebelius during the pandemic. So very glad I did. This performance is wonderful---spacious and airy like billowy sails in sqaull.
I particularly like the slower tempo for the finale, makes you sit back and reflect on the symphony as a whole instead of rushing through. Spring water eventually reaches a lake, or even an ocean...
What a disaster. What a shame for Mozart . Just ridiculous. Go for Haskil instead of this poor rendition.
Radu Lupu and Vladimir Ashkenazy the most colorful beautiful piano sound for Mozart no 19!
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Great. Those Finns always depict frigid, sinister Finnish landscapes. I'm shivering. Isn't there comfy indoor, charming salon music?
Ezt a bűbájos embert nagyon kedvelem, a Seherezádé szvitet is vezényli, a vége felé belebődül, mint aki nem bírja a felgyülemlett érzéseit másként kiadni. Fantasztikus itt is ez a dirigens.
