Vaughan Williams koos en bewerkte een tekst van Shakespeare in zijn 'Serenade to Music'. Hierin laat hij de koorleden soms samen zingen, soms in kleinere groepjes, en iedereen is op enig moment ook solist. Een ideale mini-maatschappij op het podium.

Vaughan Williams chose and adapted a text from Shakespeare in his 'Serenade to Music'. He sometimes lets the choir members sing together, sometimes in smaller groups, and everyone is also a soloist at some point. An ideal mini-society on stage.

The music of Ralph Vaughn Williams always transports me to another place. It is so easy to picture a rolling English countryside with a few sheep peacefully grazing. Thank you for this wonderful performance.

Beautiful. It filled this Englishman with a lot of emotion. A slight shame that individual members of the chorus were not used as Vaughan Williams originally intended. the 16 soloists would have given a little more clarity to the words I feel.
