In 2012, I went to see them in concert for the first time. In their intro jam for californication, Josh played a little riff that I absolutely loved. It mesmerized me and I used to play a really bad quality recording of it on my phone just for that riff. Couple of years later, they released The Getaway and while I was listening to it for the first time in my car, I came across this song and started crying instantly. It's exactly the same guitar riff that I used to listen to in 2012 ! I couldn't believe it. It's been my favorite song since then. So underrated !!

Love this song, especially because I drive down Calexico highway every month to visit my family in Mexicali. Interesting part of Cali, farmland mix with desert it's peaceful & beautiful, Blue Angels also practice in the area, they fly real low to the ground right above you while Driving down Calexico highway.
Antonio Trinidad here in the UK we don't have Calexico Highway. We have the M6 which I drive when returning to see family and friends. Great driving song.

I just need to say that “Encore” has to be my favorite song on the album next to “The Getaway” and “Go Robot”. It’s hard to choose one song. I’m pretty happy with this album. My dad includes it in his top 3 RHCP albums. Anyway, this song made me feel so happy, like I’m flying. Just as Scar Tissue made and still makes me feel. I didn’t notice he says “Listen to the Beatles” until the second time. The Beatles and RHCP are my 2 favorite bands ever 😊 this song just gives me the exact vibe I want to feel my whole life. Makes me feel like I should be in LA driving down Venice beach in the evening. I want to thank them for this beautiful song. The video, however, gives this song a way different vibe than I was feeling.

my first trip on acid on march 26 was insane man, I had this playlist of videos in rotation along with anime and this song came up as I was starting to feel the effects. Oh fuck it was rough and beautiful at the same, I couldn't quite explain though the music was surreal in a cool way
