About the KO counter on the Boxing Ring stage: unless the devs hard coded a 6 or 7 digit max on the background counter(there's not really a reason why they wouldn't, as the possibility of ridiculously high numbers likely came up in development), then it would increase "infinitely", and the numbers would probably overlap with the adjacent parts of the screen. It isn't actually infinite, because data values do have a maximum, based on the amount of memory that they can store. I dont know what that could be because I dont know what data type is used to track KOs or what the size of that value would be in the language that the game is written in.
Probably would be a 32 bit or 64 bit integer. Though that’s only my guess. If that’s actually the case, then that would be MASSIVE. But if they hard coded a limit, I doubt we could get close to those numbers

I have a theory about Lucario's infinite ledge grab - it is because of other special properties. Lucario is one of the few fighters with a wall hang, and can grab onto any walls without the need for a ledge. More importantly, it has the rather unusual property that its up special can transition directly into a wall grab. As such, there may be some error in the code for its up special that causes it to not check the ledge grab count before grabbing the ledge - or possibly making the game check the seperate wall hang count instead of the ledge grab count to see if you can grab the ledge (wall hangs, like ledge grabs, get worse every time they happen until you return to the ground, but on a seperate counter).

My guess would be, that the breakdown was meant so that the beetle can't be kicked around forever, but because of how long it takes for metal Bowser to get taken off the top, it just breaks down.
Imagine Lucario camping beneath the stage with a stock lead and using up b to go from ledge to ledge. Maybe some characters could spike him for it, especially on Smashville where it doesn't take too long to run to the other ledge, but in matchups against slower characters or those who struggle to hit ledge, it could be a viable timeout option and would have to be considered in stalling clauses.

I believe there is a spirit that removes the invincibility on respawn, I could be mistaken though. It would significantly improve the rate of KOs. You could also have the pichu hold slight left so that they leave the platform asap, I think. I'm too lazy to test it.
To add on to the ditto fact, the reason why it works that way is because the model of the character who spawned ditto is cloned, and the value for the “ink map” from a character’s normal map is raised to Max value. This map used to achieve the ditto color, as well as metal, gold, and of course inkling’s ink

You can get infinite combos of the combo counter as Villager. Just go to any stage, roll to the very ledge so you can’t go any further, have an opponent stand in front of him and then let Villager jab forever. The opponent won’t drift out themselves as long as they don’t hold to the opposite direction, and as long as they do nothing, the combo counter will go up forever. In the first couple of hits, the opponent might end up drifting out of a tiny bit and break the combo counter, but only around 2 jabs later will they get sucked back in again and get jabbed forever.

Try this out on other pokemon if they can be hit

Oh yeah, it's been a while since I did it, but I recall Lucario being recommended for doing the Cruel Smash challenge. I guess infinite ledge grab is precisely the reason why. Hopefully, it doesn't get patched out, or any new players are gonna have a MUCH harder time with that challenge (I swear, it seems to me like Cruel Smash was always meant to be cheesed; for a casual player just trying to complete all the single-player stuff, earnestly beating even one of such opponents, let alone a few of them, seems like way too tall of an order).

However I made the experience, that Charizards Flamethrower seems to have a weak hitbox that sometimes hits rather than the strong hitbox. The weaker hit only knocks Pichu off the ceiling rather than outright KOing, so it stands in the middle of the ring until you realize it and place it back on top (which can take several hours, since you don't sit in front of your TV while the whole thing is going on). With Ganondorfs Jab you do not have this problem, so I switched to Ganondorf rather than Charizard. Anyways, like I said, I am over 100.000 KO's right now. I will have Ganondorf keep swinging a while longer, since I do not actually need to use the switch right now. Since the next benchmark would be 1.000.000 KO's and that will take about 2 months, I will report back around beginning of November. Just wanted to let you know, that 6-digit KOs are actually possible.

That Lucario fact may actually be the first thing applicable in competitive matches on any of these videos.
You can get infinite combos of the combo counter as Villager. tab grouping is really good on PC and Mac, reduces RAM consumed and we all know how much RAM gets eaten by chrome
my guess is the limit on those kill counters with no space limit is a 2-bit integer limit, probably the one around 2.1 billion
