I love your videos of Germany. All the houses are so pretty. I lived in an attic floor of a small apartment in
Zweibrucken in 1986. I loved Germany. I loved the roadways, after arriving there from Southern Sicily! I remember the traffic signs were so different than Italian signs. Italian signs all had men who looked like Adonis (I don't think they wore clothes), who were pointing directions; but German signs had men dressed in coveralls and kerchiefs!
This has bought back great memories of when I last lived in Germany ! I lived in Hameln for 4 years ! My mum is from wolfenbuttel nr Hannover! I always went to the ice cream shop for spaghetti ice cream and coffee and cake on Sundays from the town centre ! Loved the bakers, charcuterie! I love the Mosel land the harz mountains ! This vlog makes me want to go back to Germany ! My father was in the forces and I was born in mulheim am Ruhr in 1960 ! Never been to Düsseldorf!
I know what you mean about places looking different when you are a teenager. I went to school in Durrington in Wiltshire and went back there a few years ago and was surprised how pretty the town was. Also my best friend and I went to Tenby in Wales when we were 16 to stay with her grandad and all we looked at was teenage boys. Just after lockdown we did a trip to Wales and visited Tenby and couldn’t believe how beautiful the town was.
I can really feel your excitement and love for childhood memories. Lovely of you to share it with us.
Glad you enjoyed it!x
An emotional and lovely visit for you x There’s a C& A in Budapest and also in Palma 😀
Thank you. It was a real blast from the past seeing that store. We saw Woolworths the previous day too : )
The German tourist board must be loving these vlogs (and so are we 😊)
You are funny Richard LOL
Hello, nice video, very beautiful and interesting, thank you for sharing, friendly like, good luck to you🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thank you very much!
How strange I grew in hubblerath near Dusseldorf not far from you , did you go to Kent school by any chance?
No I spent more time in north Germany , lippstadt, sennalarger , cella, and wolfenbuttel where my grand parents lived ! When I came out of the army myself my husband was posted to Hameln and I worked in Hameln primary school !
