Polar Express
How the Grinch stole Christmas!
@@katherineknapp4370 The OG Cartoon or the Live Action Film?
@@thefantasticretroreviewer3941 both
@@katherineknapp4370 Ok
I never got the dislike for Polar Express
Same here
Maybe it was the way the Characters looked in that Film or something
My family watch it every year on Christmas Eve…
@@victoriasalter1701 Cool
The hate is mostly from the uncanny mocap animation
I adore Klaus very much. It's such a beautiful Christmas movie telling how it all started with a simple letter that changed everything and everyone. When I saw it for the first time, I was amazed by the gorgeous art style and visuals and the story about a pampered man who has to deliver 6000 letters in a year on an island that is dangerous and met a toy maker named Klaus was a very well thought out and interesting story. So please, I highly recommend this movie when you have the chance. You will be smiling and crying for how magical and thoughtful that movie is.
That film should’ve won the Oscar instead!🏆
@bennymora3086 I know! It looks so amazing, and everything about that movie is moving and heartwarming. Not to mention, the ending made me smile while crying
Omgggggg I agree with you so much I love that movie so much
For me, the Polar Express is the one film of my childhood that isn’t blocked from the dark experiences I had in certain parts of my life and is the only film that still has me believing.
That movie really makes you feel like you're leaving all your dark experiences in life behind, and heading to a place where you can truly get into the Christmas spirit. Not to mention, make you feel like a kid again.
“Klaus” is not only my favorite post-2000s Christmas movie; it’s also my all-time favorite Christmas movie! It’s absolutely beautiful!
That kind of animation is literally majestic and beautiful, even if made in 2019.
I've legitimately never seen a better origin story on Santa Claus anywhere.
To me, Jim Carreys grinch will always be one of my favorites. It is usually in my top 3 to watch around Christmas time.
Home alone is one of my go-to Christmas movies
That's the 90s
Klaus is the one film I can call a true Christmas Classic & should’ve been #1
• The story - brilliant
• The characters - engaging
• The heart - beyond what I could’ve ever imagined✨💖✨
It also should've won an Oscar. The same for Wolfwalkers.
The Holiday is one of my favourites rom coms. I watch it every year without fail. Same goes for Elf, It's a Wonderful Life, and The Polar Express.
Elf would have been so different had Will Ferrell not do it. Apparently, Jim Carrey was offered the role. I like Jim Carrey, but it would have been quite different
To this day, I continue to hope and wish that Klaus comes out on DVD someday.
Side note, I'm sad that the 2000s version of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus isn't on this list
I love that movie !!!! It’s just a classic for me
@@Gracieroseyxox Which one, Klaus or The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus?
Would doubt for a Criterion release of Klaus one day.
I love a lot of the adaptations of A Christmas Carol, but the Disney one with Jim Carrey is my absolute favorite! It’s so beautiful and so well done.
Elf
A year without Santa Claus
Home alone
How the grinch stole Christmas
Um the ORIGINAL Grinch can’t be touched EVER!!!!
No disrespect to the animated classic but Jim Carrey’s the Grinch is timeless for me.
Polar Express is my favorite modern Christmas movie.
My Top 5
1. Elf
2. The Santa Clause 2
3. Last Christmas
4. The Polar Express
5. How The Grinch Stole Christmas
I wish Violent Night got at least an honorable mention. That movie was awesome.
A terrible movie. Too much foul language and a whole lot of it around a little girl at an age that shouldn't be hearing it. There's a reason why it's on streaming and not on TV.
@@MrMJmusicLoverIt has a 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and it grossed over $75 million against its $20 million budget. And streaming is more popular than TV and cable channels now. So a lot of people like it. And unfortunately, a lot of kids are hearing a lot of foul language now, and this relates to anyone who went through that as a child.
@@michaelmonthey5974 Exactly. Some people just don't have a good taste in comedy.
@@robbyosborne9708surprised didn't see that anywhere.
@@MrMJmusicLoverStreaming??? It was in theaters brainiac!!’
Klaus is more recent and came out on Netflix, but it would have done better had it come out in theaters
Last Christmas with Emilila Clark was absolutely sensational im dissapointed that it wasnt even mentioned
My niece (almost 5) and nephew (2) and I all watched the Polar Express last night (them for the first time and myself for the first time since I was a child). It still cracks me up and I got to see it with a fresh pair of eyes
Once I participated in a whole community event where they literally recreated the Polar Express.
They had the actual train ride, the hot chocolate, and even Santa's workshop.
It was memorable.
I remember when I was little my teacher took my class and me to watch it in a single booth theater when it came out
You Forgot “Last Christmas” with Emilia Clark
Jim Carrey's Grinch is timeless! ahead of its time in production&camera work
I gave up watched Nickelodeon so I watched Christmas movies like Albert the Christmas tree and Santa Paws, they're so underrated ❤
Same here. I also watched Albert the Christmas Tree and Santa Paws.
In my family; it's not Christmas unless we watch Elf
I know that A Muppet Family Christmas and The Muppet Christmas Carol technically weren't on this list at some point because they both came out in the 1980s and 1990s, not the 2000s Era of Movies, but I can still have a good time enjoying those Movies, too!
That's still a modern Christmas movie. Today's generation sees the 80s the way i would see the 1920,30,40, 50 and 60s as the old past. 😅
@@MrMJmusicLover Wait, which one are you talking about right now?
A Muppet Family Christmas or The Muppet Christmas Carol?
@@thefantasticretroreviewer3941 Both
@@MrMJmusicLover It's modern to you, but that doesn't mean its modern anymore in the general public. I'm 34, so I grew up on a lot of the scooby doo shows of the past, but to the current gen, that's now seen as the older stuff like you said, but that's the point, the up and coming generation is what defines the current era.
@@josephmath1 True. This generation sees stuff that i enjoyed as a young person, as boring old stuff the way I saw black and white movies when I was younger.
Elf is the best Christmas movie ever besides home alone will does a good job playing buddy. He is so funny.
The Nightmare Before Christmas 🎃 🎄
Krampus, Klaus, & especially Arthur Christmas are definitely underrated. I’d add The Holdovers to this list even though it just came out this year
Very disappointed that "Anna & the Apocalypse" isn't mentioned. A musical set at Christmas in a Scottish village amidst a zombie apocalypse...what's not to like? I also like "Serendipity" - even if it's a little sappy.
Xmas Chronicles takes the win in my books! It’s wholesome, magical, and everything you’d want in an Xmas theme film
I didn’t expect to enjoy it myself! I watched on Thanksgiving night 2020. Trailer doesn’t do how entertaining it was justice
Christmas is a great time!
Violent Night is one I'll be watching every year from now on, also Anna and the Apocalypse! 🎄🎅
I would also add “Violent Night” (2022). 1 year later, this is an R rated action holiday comedy with a fantastic lead performance by David Harbour as Santa Claus who must save a rich family from a group of crooks intent on stealing millions. It’s equal parts “Die Hard” meets “Home Alone” with the right amount of gory action and Christmas spirit.
Love Polar Express! ❤️ Unashamedly ❤️
Is Batman Returns (1992) on here! Because that is the coolest Superhero movie ever made. Heck, I love it more than the 1st movie.
That isn't a Christmas movie.
It’s not as Christmas movie and it’s not on this list because it was released BEFORE the 2000s, in case you didn’t watch this video.
@@michaelmonthey5974 I don’t what people say! It’s a Christmas movie! That movie is so much funner than that last one.
@@MrMJmusicLover it is a Christmas movie pal. You just don’t know it.
@@megalon73 When it first came out, my generation saw it as a SUMMER movie. It was NEVER considered a Christmas movie until this new generation.
Top 10/20 Christmas Episodes/Specials About DC and Marvel!
Agree 💯
Yes! Delighted to see "The Holiday" all but at the top of the list. Love Winslet's Iris and this was the first live-action film in which I actually liked Jack Black. Eli Wallach's George Abbott is a delight.
Is there a list for Hallmark Christmas movies? What about "One Starry Christmas?" What about "Annabell's Wish"? I know Annabell's Wish came out in 97 but still it was great
I cherished The Santa Clause 2 since I was a kid
0:10, Okay I gotta admit, that Joke's quite funny
I’ve been watching elf and how the Grinch stole Christmas a lot. These movies are my favorite and I like watching them. I recently went to go watch them in the theaters in honor of their anniversary and it was just amazing but I like watching them when I’m home Christmas, modern films that I ever watched. I’m proud and thankful to love Christmas and the holidays especially the music.
The Grinch is my favorite modern Christmas movie mostly because it is directed by one of my favorite movie directors, Ron Howard.
The Polar express is my favourite Christmas movie ever, was the first one I watched too, plus at my local train station, every year they do a Polar Express ride at Christmas, me and my nephew love it
I love those Christmas movies so much 🥰
Oh Yes! I freaking LOVE Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey! I just love it. Love the soundtrack
Violent Night should have at least got an honourable mention
Me, my mom and dad loves Klaus since 2019. A memory I’ll never forget. Best part, my parents say it’s the better than WW84
Goldie Hawn playing Mrs Clause was one of my favourite little Easter Eggs in the original Christmas Chronicles. I was thrilled when she got her sequel.
Great list! A bit older but still a modern Christmas movie is “Prancer” (1989). It was a surprisingly sweet movie
Happy Holidays, MsMojo! 🎅☃️🎄
My Uncle and his family introduced me to The Christmas Chronicles and I fell in love with it since 2018
I love these modern Christmas movies!
I recently watched 8 Bit Christmas and Naughty Nine!!! Enjoyed both! Oh yeah and Christmas Story Christmas! A real blast from the past! A grown up Ralphie! It surprised me! Wasn’t sure if I was gonna like it or not!
@@David_Theisen 𝔸𝕨𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖!
The fact that Spirited isn’t on this list is kind of a shame because it’s so good, but so underrated
That one was rather decent
Spirited deserves a spot if not at least an honorable mention! Great story, characters and the music is top notch!
Last Christmas should’ve been on this list too.
I'm so happy! Elf is my favorite Christmas movie! I also love Klaus, The Holiday and Carol.
Thank you for the update, MsMojo..!! Speaking of Christmas movies, in UA-cam, there is a video called "It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from the Nakatomi Plaza."
#14 "the man who invented Christmas " is wonderful. It is added to our annual must watch at Christmas time.
Anyone else find it interesting that Jim Carrey has played both of the most famous Christmas hating characters? And played them very well I might add.
So glad Jingle Jangle got some love! It deserves it!
Here is a new movie that I can definitely see it's going to be a Christmas classic and it's easily one of my favourite movies of the year, Alexander Payne's The Holdovers
While the grinch story is sweet the Jim Carey version I watched it and later I was not well
Definitely Polar Express. Happy sunday afternoon, Samantha (and happy holiday season as well) take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia.
If you were a 90s or early 2000’s kid this will hit you in the feels with nostalgia: did you ever watch Olive the Other Reindeer?? That is an UNDERRATED GEM of a a Christmas movie.. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about here’s a rundown- it’s about a Jack Russell Terrier voiced by Drew Barrymore who goes to the North Pole after Christmas is almost cancelled after Comet breaks his foot. It’s so cute and makes me happy cry just watching it with my family since I remember watching it all the time on Cartoon Network around this time of year. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!! ❤
Merry Christmas
I was 5 years old when I saw The Polar Express. I love this movie so much. Pure nostalgia and I just love the song When Christmas Comes to Town
I was 11 when it came out
If you were to ask me what my favorite Christmas movies are, they would be
1. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
2. Jingle All The Way.
3. Bad Santa.
4. Bad Santa 2.
5. Christmas with the Kranks.
6. Deck The Halls 2006.
7. Krampus.
8. A Bad Moms Christmas.
9. A Madea Christmas.
10. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
11. Good Luck Charlie: It's Christmas!
12. The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Santa Claus 2 is my favorite movie of all time! We used some of the instrumental for our wedding reception. Disney's "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" and "Noelle" are now mandatory. I hate Will Ferrell with an open fire!
EEEEEEE!!!! I love The Polar Express
Who didn’t expect Elf to be number 1 on this list?
Me neither here
Tokyo Godfathers is one of my favourite Christmas films. I have this one... I gotta see it again
Home Alone helps teach us that while family members can drive each other nuts sometimes, they are still family and will go to great lengths to keep each other safe. If the whole McAllister family went to Paris as intended, they would have come home to a completely destroyed house with broken windows caused by the Wet Bandits, but that's unrelated. In the first act of the film, Kevin says he hates his family because he is seen as the scapegoat by or the "problem child" to the rest of the family, and wishes that he didn't have a family. He gets his wish the next afternoon when Mitch Murphy from across the street is mistakenly counted as Kevin, and initially enjoys living with no family. But on Christmas Eve, he walks down the street and sees other families getting together with extended relatives for dinner, making him miss his family and wants nothing more than to be with them again, even if they do get on his nerves from time to time. We also see the other side and how much of a pain Kevin can be to other members of the family, but at the end of the day they still see him as part of their family and do what they can to return back home to him.
You definitely nailed all my favourites! 😊
My top 5 Christmas movies:
1. Elf
2. Gremlins
3. Scrooged
4. Home Alone
5. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
I know some of these are from the 80s and 90s, but it's my list!!
i LOVE/LIKE the polar express,dr.seuss how the grinch stole Christmas with jim carry and elf
the christmas story sequel with the original cast was amazing. it should be here.
I can never get enough of Elf
Elf, Home Alone 1 and 2 are my top 3 Xmas movies!
I love lots of specials as well like Shrek The Halls, Toy Story That Time Forgot, Santa Claus is Comin to Town, Frosty The Snowman, Grinch 66, Grinch 2000 and Kung Fu Panda Holiday
I enjoy Home Alone 3 as well!! Even though it’s a 90s movie it’s enjoyable and funny! And kinda the most realistic one of all of them!! Being home from school because of chicken pox! Unaccompanied Minors is an enjoyable movie too! And funny! Daddy’s Home 2 as well
Home alone 3 sucks
Home Alone 2, Klaus and Krampus are the ones I watch every year. Also, not really a Christmas movie, but my husband and I love watching Anastasia and making gingerbread cookies each December
How The Grinch Stole Christmas is my favorite
Why?
I love watching Last Holiday with Queen Latifah and Nutcracker and the Four Realms with Kiera Knightly.
Out of all the movies mentioned in this video, I’ve seen Noelle, Single All The Way, Elf, Love Actually, The Polar Express, The Santa Claus 2, Jingle Jangle, The Christmas Chronicle, The Man Who Invented Christmas, A Boy Named Christmas, Klaus, Arthur Christmas, A Christmas Carol and the Holiday!
The live-action Grinch movie expanded on the reason why he doesn't like Christmas is because Whoville's mayor was a dick to him when they were younger. The animated version, he hates Christmas just for the hell of it
Yes!, I got that too in the live action, the Grinch had a crush on Martha, so did the mayor, Im gald that Martha May choose the Ginch in the end, I love the cartoon classic as well.
The Ref has always been a favorite of mine. 🥰
I love the Santa Clause movies x
Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas is still a great Christmas movie ❤❤❤💚💚💚
The top pick feels completely obvious to me, and I’m 100% here for it.
Elf was a childhood Christmas classic when i was 5 first seeing in TV. Can't blame him for living life but one thing i noticed elf; walter has gone through the 5 stages of grief for Susan wells.
I love The Family Man and like The Holiday and Elf a lot, but I wish that Last Holiday also made the list. It was a sweet movie!
The Family Stone from 2005 is very good also.
kinda bummed that rise of the guardians didn’t make the cut. that movie was dope, and i loved how all of the different holidays came together, and santa looked so damn cool. this movie was the only one that actually paid true homage to all of the books in the series.
The Grinch that Stole Christmas is one of of my favourite Christmas movies and Jim Carey’s performance as The Grinch will always the best to me 💚💚💚Also I feel they should added Home Alone and National Lampoons Christmas vacation because they my go to Christmas movies as well.
How could you diss Muppet Christmas Carol?!
That’s the 1990’s. This is a 2000’s through 2020’s list
Aw, Jingle All The Way wasn't mentioned. One of my favorites. Though a movie called Single All The Way was...eh, close enough.
This Christmas should have made the list. Some of these I've never even heard of.
Personally I think Deck the Halls is unique and fun, as well as having Danny deVito.
But the list I'd say is bang on, and your definitely right about Elf being number one.
If you watch Christmas movies, and you haven't ever watched Elf, who are you?
Love actually
The Santa Clause movies and Elf are Mutch watches. Also loved the Christmas Chronicles!
Violent Night is a great Christmas action comedy starring David Harbour as Santa who must save a little girl and her family after they've been taken hostage in their own home. A bloody action movie with amazing kills and some genuine heartwarming moments you'd come to expect in a Christmas movie
Four Christmases should be on here. Also, Last Christmas is a hidden gem from 2019!
I'm gonna watch the Polar Express this year because I haven't watched it since I was in Kindergarten and I really loved that movie☃️❤
I was in 5th grade when it came out in 2004
