The KRATON broke the wheel as soon as it left the ramp and hit the fence, when it hit the ground it was already broken, you can clearly see in slow motion as well. The Maxx is unbelievable!!! What a RC! I go for the Maxx over the XMaxx!
I think the triple you are referring to has a table top in the middle so that is why they are landing so close to the "landing". if you look close enough you can see two downslopes in the middle.

New Kratons are ok, people forget that when XMaxx dropped it was a totally new platform, not really fair to compare them to each other. Kraton is just a heavier clunkier version. Wish they’d truly made something “new” Just my opinion. My 6s notorious is folded up like a cheap lawn chair. With Arrma unfortunately you need to upgrade to a new chassis and possibly electronics. I have the tactic, it’s decent compared to the spectrum
I own the xmaxx 8s honestly every time i bring that thing out something fails on it. I am very nice to my xmaxx it has spent more time on the shelf than anything else due to the fact it breaks so often. Do not get me wrong when it does work and when i can drive it i absolutely enjoy it. But the things that have gone wrong in the past 12 mos in order, 1. Receiver failure destroying motor, causing the esc to shoot flames at my brand new lipos. Traxxas did replace all them including the lipos huge thanx for that. That was 1 month in. 2. High speed stock spur gear stripped. Fixed that next run rear diff started clicking=broken teeth on both spur and diff. Replaced both gears. 3. Rear wheel bearing blew apart luckily i took kevins advice and had already bought the rpm upgraded ones planning for that part to fail, instant replacement. 4. Tire is blown, currently superglued together. 5. Receiver blew may have blown steering servo. Waiting on yet another receiver. Honestly i drive this truck around in my back yard doing the one dirt jump i have on the side of my driveway, maybe 1ft of air, local city parks in the dirt, once to the beach i think the beach is the only place i was able to get a full run out of the batteries without anything breaking, and once at a local skate park where the batteries just kept coming unplugged. Other than that nothing but issues. My trx 4 has held up fine only issue is the esc once i threw a hobbywing no issues. I have the max 6 for the xmaxx for if it ever blows again on standby. Also the body of the xmaxx has pretty much destroyed itself just from dirt and sand getting kicked up at it. Currently trying to find a way to help prevent it from breaking apart by spraying the underside with flex seal spray.
Holy sh!t dude you really have grabbed the shitty end of the stick 🤯 I thought I had troubles with my Kraton 6s but dude you win hands down. It's mainly the differentials I've had trouble with but since shimming and installing #45 hardened steel input gears and main diff gears with a shim in the input gear it's all holding up really well. Straight after purchase I took out the plastic chassis braces and put in GPM parts, drilled out the front mount hole to 4mm and put a bigger screw in and haven't had the chassis bend at all. Shock towers 🤬 stock are weak as piss and will bend simply by landing a 10 - 20ft high jump. Upgraded them to voltage hobbies but the issue still remains so I have carbon fiber to try out and if the carbon fiber doesn't hold up I'll be making my own shock towers out of a thick plastic that's able to flex. Seriously fed up of taking it apart to straighten them out after every run bro. I highly recommend one of the Arrma 1/10 range bro they are light, nimble and you can launch them without having to worry too much about damage. I went with the Senton 4x4 and what a brilliant bit of kit. The Senton body/body mounts are designed to absorb impact, the body protects the a-arm and all of what's underneath. It doesn't need upgrading to be awesome but RPM A-arms, sealed bearing kit, 1/8 scale shocks will bring out the best in it. I need to change the front skid plate as it keeps bending down and releasing the hinge pin, the t-bone upgrade is what's needed but in all a very impressive truck. Man, Traxxas should give you a brand new x-Maxx, they have sold you a lemmon mate. You've had so much trouble and usually people have little to none at all, they're generally very well made from what I've seen of them. Don't ask why I chose Arrma over Traxxas bro I really don't know. I set out to but the Slash and ended up with a Kraton 🤣 set out to buy a Slash again and bought a Senton 🤣 must be something to do with the design I guess 🤔
The Krayton looks awesome, Not sure if you can call the Xmaxx killer. I would say that it is nice to see something that gives you another option for the Xmaxx. Great fun!!

Im new to rc cars and my first purchase was a nitro car. I still don't understand why people are going mad for these electric ones?. I know they are faster and easier to maintain and cost less to run but they just dont seem as much fun and sound boring. Still reminds me of a childs toy when its electric. Someone put in my place and explain why they are now more popular.
You've already answered it yourself, faster and easier to maintain. I've raced both and nitro is great fun, but I don't have the time to maintain a nitro system when electric is faster and just plug and play.
I dont see it as a xmaxx killer at least in my eyes I have had a xmaxx and I beaten it half way around the world I've only broken two stub axle and this is in 18 or 16 months of owner ship
I don't have either but it seems the xmaxx takes the punishment better that I have seen on YT. Arrma should take the production value of the etching out and use it for a better frame brace and/or chassis just my 1/2 cents of opinion.
I totally agree lads. The x-maxx is the best choice for bashing, the Kraton seems to be best suited to the race track but standard it really isn't that quick. Those standard chassis are not fit for purpose on the Kraton 8s. Not particularly fast. It's not even that entertaining to watch is it? 4s and 6s arrma I could watch all day✌

To rival the x-maxx arrma need to make a monster truck with a wider wheel base with a lower centre of gravity that is just as durable or better than the x-Maxx. Better handling and better durability will be an x-Maxx killer but until that day they have no chance. After having taken my 6s Kraton apart so many times and seeing it's designed flaws I'm confident that I could design it much better than arrma have. It's like they have designed it to break so you are constantly buy replacement parts. I replace broken parts with upgrades so they don't break again and now there's more aftermarket parts than arrma. Now it is "Aftermarket tough baby" 🤣 after spending over a grand on it. If I designed a truck it would not need upgrading to be tough as old boots with reliable drive train that can actually handle 6s power, awesome straight from the box which is what people expect when you spend almost £500. You want to boost sales? Make top quality products that justify your high prices. Make your company name live up to expectations and more.. "Arrma tough" don't make me laugh. What they are really doing is selling concept cars that must be customized to make it good but charging top whack for it. Don't get me started on the STX2 controller that's fit for the bin. 🙂✌

Because they are easier to maintain and run. I have the original tmax pro .15 and even though it's not the fastest truck I own but it is the most fun.
