Not sure why people get so hurt hurt over people’s opinions? RC cars are like real cars they all have there weaknesses. I have had better luck with Arrma but after upgrading the hell out of my traxxas I’m happy with it. Just have fun people!!!!

Those tie rods cost $50 for the upgraded ones like Kevin is using and that is per pair, that M2C chassis on that Kraton is $130 bucks, those shock towers are another $50 bucks and all the other bits most likely another $60 so let's see $50 to fix the E Revo 2 issue or $240 bucks to strengthen the Arrma Kraton..... hmm seems to me you spend more on Arrma to strengthen it than a Traxxas. Also, you're not going to risk damaging your electronics on the E Revo 2 because it doesn't slap the ground when the suspension is set up correctly.
THEMAN 2805 Yeah I agree, after replacing 50% of the parts on the car with upgraded materials or aluminum it’s holding up pretty well now, but before that right out of the box it was the biggest piece of crap I ever bought.

Just bought all the Arrma 3s line. Big rock senton. Put a 6s system in the senton. Also bought the lasernut, very cool cars. Yes I’m waffaling lol. Have 2 XMAXX’s XLX2 belt drive and max5 800 kv d bore gears. Belted tires. I could keep going but Building all these cars is fun for me. Got to start making videos on all my builds. Great job Kev! Best "best RC of 2019" video I've seen so far. You really don't care who makes an RC as long as it is fun to drive. And your opinions seem honest, including which is best after modification. Even the Banggood specials had me thinking about buying. Looks like you need to add Tekno and Losi RTR to your lineup in 2020.

I'm happy to see the 3s granite starting to get some good recognition again. I have more than a few rcs that are way more bling and expensive than the 3s granite, but that thing once you swap the radio never stops surprising me with how dang good it is.
Yep I end using granite the most. One body for bashing one body to put away the original body glued taped stitched and faded away waiting for it to disintegrate 🚗🙂
Hey Kev, you should have a look at Kyosho "ZEAL" double sided gel absorption tape. Will help with protecting your electronics with hard landings. I use it for my nitro helicopter for the gyro.

XMAXX vs LOSI DBLE 2.0 Losi seems to be able to corner on full throttle, which makes it faster... which is why we all end up putting 8s in these things... faster is more fun. I'm not a fan of having to reduce throttle just so the front end of the RC stays down. So another bonus for the Losi with it's more stable stance. Having said all that, I have a feeling the XMaxx will do back flips better, and take abuse a bit better (partially because it is slower, and partially because of the flexible plastic used instead of metal, and also due to longer travel in the suspension). Which is better is hard to say. Depends on what you want it to do. On landings the XMaxx appears to be very Unstable and tumbles over unless it lands perfectly on all 4 wheels with NO lateral G-forces. The LOSI can easily handle these off-camber landings... and therefore you don't need to go and turn it back upright. I am still undecided which is better in mud... assuming you put a big set of Prolines on the LOSI to even up the tyre situation. At the end of the day... I think the LOSI DBLE 2.0 takes the win.... but not easily... and that is because I prefer to have stability, not this lurching, less controllable XMaxx.

My favorite buggy is the typhon 6s. Just had good luck with it. The diff bumps on the chassis wear so you need protector plates. Front shock towers wear as well. I keep stock.

The blue wltoys and the green 10th scale wltoys buggy are the same rigs. You can find parts for them if you want to search but if you don't mind paying more for the Vaterra Twin Hammers original part they are compatible. (Its a clone of the Twin Hammers) That HBX Rampage goes with me everywhere. What a bashable rig!

Kev, there is one little upgrade that can be done for the stock Traxxas shocks to make them a bit better, and that's the aluminum caps for the ultra-shocks. I had the same problem you were talking about on the rustler 4x4, and haven't had them pop off ever since I put on the aluminum shock caps.

Can. You put the x Maxx wheels on the kraton because for a speed run of the kraton 8s they put the proline badlands for the xmaxx on it and it flitted very well and was usable also tey putting the kraton tires on the x maxx that would be cool to see what would happens
I don’t have the Kraton, buying that today. All the 4x4 smaller Traxxas cars have to have Mip shafts. That’s the down side but there fun. Every rc has a weak spot, the Mojave is the closest no issues out of the box as long as you locktite the poop out of the wheel nuts. I’m very opinionated have done a Lot of builds and testing.
kev! The plastic shocks on the rustler 4x4 are called ultra shocks and Traxxas make aluminum ones in a set of 4 for 15 dollars! I put those on my slash and now they don't burst open.
Kev, you need to test this truck, it is not your typical budget RedCat, the "Team" RedCat brand gives you all the bang for your buck, not just good bang for the buck. The Team RedCat TR-MT8E BE6S is probably closer to the X-Maxx in how it handles (I'm guessing, never drove an X-Maxx. It is my next purchase. I'll buy used. I like Traxxas vehicles but, I hate bully corporations so, I don't want them to be directly rewarded with my new Money. JMO) I am mostly referring to the stance of the X-Maxx. The BE6S has that higher CG like the X-Maxx, Maxx and the stock Slash chassis. The BE6S has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the Kraton, approximately 20mm +/- longer axel to axle. The BE6S has larger wheels, thicker parts, is wider and has significantly more ground clearance. It is designed like 1/2 Kraton and 1/2 outcast. Standing back flips are very easy, it does stunts with ease but, it is a better basher than the Outcast/Notorious. The BE6S keeps the front end down a little better that the outcast but the front end does come off the ground easier than the Kraton. Weakness? Non really, stock pinion is too small out of the box, it can handle a 16T but then the tires are known to come unglued. You will want a cooling fan on 16t too. I personally have a Monster X running a 2000kv sensored HobbyStar motor with an 18t pinion. If you want both a great basher and a great stunt truck you want the Team RedCat TR-MT8E BE6S. Yes Arrma can be upgrade more but for most bashers, the BE6S is truely RTR (Save batteries) out of the box. And is the most durable RTR out of the box with the exception maybe some smaller more specialized manufacturers, the BE6S retails for $600 too.
You should look at the tekno drive shaft kit for the rustler 4x4. Paid $35 for the front kit and it comes with better steering knuckles with bigger bearings. Can't use the aluminum traxxas knuckles with the kit but I haven't had any problems with them. Also has bump steer adjustments.

Hi Kev, been watching your vids! Very entertaining mate. I have watched your best R/C cars of 2019 and I am still undivided beings a R/C Noob. I want it for my son aged 10 ( obviously not for me 🤔) was thinking maybe E revo 2.0 or Kraton V4 6s don’t think we would do as extreme bashing like you guys do in the skate park etc maybe more grass jumps/natural terrain odd BMX track maybe. Just fancied a bespoke opinion. I must admit though I do like the Max and X max just don’t like how they tip over so much! That said I have seen people put heavier weight shock oil in and Change the diff oil? Cheers in advance
Been away from the hobby for over 20 years. As a kid, I always wanted a high-end buggy. So I just bought a Kyosho mp9e. Now I'm looking at getting another one. And Need some advice. I don't bash nowhere near as hard as you do. So I'm looking at the Mojave. The x-max and the Losi super Baja Rey What would you recommend?
Ya know I agree about the WLTOYS brand I have a couple incredible inicial performance "Bang for the buck" My advice is bash till they do not move buy another the UPGRADE track is a dead end of disappointment. That is my opinion My 959 would have been way more fun if I left it alone LOL

Metal shock caps and GPM racing drive shafts solve your rustler problem :D I was going thru the plastic drive shafts like it was a joke but the GPM ones solved my problem

I found a 10$ usb charger 1/10 car with no body I soldered a motor wire to it. Played with it for 1 min. Put the biggest smile on my face. Had a bad day, I’m not kidding lol I have more rc’s then Kevin. All built, but last night, that was my favorite car. Pretty sad. Lol
Gotcha back brother- grab a dremel tool and cut a slot in the head so you can get a flat head driver in there. Remember to clean out any dirt and debris, be sure the tool is all the way in the hole and apply downward force when using hex drivers👍🏼👍🏼🍻
Looking at getting a basher as I had all my stuff stolen couple of years ago got about £500 max but not to sure what to get. What would be good that you can get looks of spare parts very unsure as been out of the game for a while

Kev, is RedCat unavailable to you? I'm surprised that you don't own a few. The toughest 1/8 basher out of the box is the Team RedCat TR-MT8E BE6S. Shame if they are not available for the UK.
Qualifier, most durable RTR out of the box, among the larger ground control RC manufacturers (Technically RedCat doesn't manufacture but the do have parts manufactured to their specks.)
I am just going to say Traxxas is my favorite brand but I agree with Kevin just because you like a brand or an RC car from another one doesn’t mean it’s better it just means it’s better for you So I like Traxxas other people might like losi or arrma but do not bully people just because their opinion is different
I've got the Wltoys 12423, and I got it because it's bumper will absorb the impact unlike the 12428, it'll even backflip on a backflip board! The only problem I've had with it is it's back drive shaft is jamed! (I think with dirt) does anyone know how to take off the back drive shaft?
Hey kev. What esc do you prefer to run in the xmaxx for stunts? Cuz I know the max6 is a good esc but just curious how it fails for stunts like front flips with the way the brake/reverse setup is on the max6 how you have to double tap the throttle to get it to reverse etc

I am mostly referring to the stance of the X-Maxx. The BE6S has that higher CG like the X-Maxx, Maxx and the stock Slash chassis. The BE6S has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the Kraton, approximately 20mm +/- longer axel to axle. The BE6S has larger wheels, thicker parts, is wider and has significantly more ground clearance. It is designed like 1/2 Kraton and 1/2 outcast. Standing back flips are very easy, it does stunts with ease but, it is a better basher than the Outcast/Notorious. The BE6S keeps the front end down a little better that the outcast but the front end does come off the ground easier than the Kraton. Weakness? Non really, stock pinion is too small out of the box, it can handle a 16T but then the tires are known to come unglued. You will want a cooling fan on 16t too. I personally have a Monster X running a 2000kv sensored HobbyStar motor with an 18t pinion. If you want both a great basher and a great stunt truck you want the Team RedCat TR-MT8E BE6S. Yes Arrma can be upgrade more but for most bashers, the BE6S is truely RTR (Save batteries) out of the box. And is the most durable RTR out of the box with the exception maybe some smaller more specialized manufacturers, the BE6S retails for $600 too.
You should look at the tekno drive shaft kit for the rustler 4x4. Paid $35 for the front kit and it comes with better steering knuckles with bigger bearings. Can't use the aluminum traxxas knuckles with the kit but I haven't had any problems with them. Also has bump steer adjustments.

With shock oil the higher the number the stiffer it gets??? What would you reccomend just for normal driving and bashing?

I want it for my son aged 10 ( obviously not for me 🤔) was thinking maybe E revo 2.0 or Kraton V4 6s don’t think we would do as extreme bashing like you guys do in the skate park etc maybe more grass jumps/natural terrain odd BMX track maybe. Been away from the hobby for over 20 years. As a kid, I always wanted a high-end buggy. So I just bought a Kyosho mp9e. Now I'm looking at getting another one. And Need some advice. I don't bash nowhere near as hard as you do. So I'm looking at the Mojave. The x-max and the Losi super Baja Rey What would you recommend?

Ya know I agree about the WLTOYS brand I have a couple incredible inicial performance "Bang for the buck" My advice is bash till they do not move buy another the UPGRADE track is a dead end of disappointment. That is my opinion My 959 would have been way more fun if I left it alone LOL

The xmaxx flips over turning if there’s traction. On low traction it won’t steer so it won’t flip over.
I think theres going to be a wide kit for the xmaxx coming out soon

Do you have an ARRMA Mojave 6s? It's become my favorite truck. Better than both my kraton 4 and 6s! Absolutely love it. Very tough as well.

I found a 10$ usb charger 1/10 car with no body I soldered a motor wire to it. Played with it for 1 min. Put the biggest smile on my face. Had a bad day, I’m not kidding lol I have more rc’s then Kevin. All built, but last night, that was my favorite car. Pretty sad. Lol

Gotcha back brother- grab a dremel tool and cut a slot in the head so you can get a flat head driver in there. Remember to clean out any dirt and debris, be sure the tool is all the way in the hole and apply downward force when using hex drivers👍🏼👍🏼🍻

I have the e revo 1.0 1/16 and havw no problems with the drive shafts.
But I have a high running pinien and my diff breaks very very easy.

Kev, is RedCat unavailable to you? I'm surprised that you don't own a few. The toughest 1/8 basher out of the box is the Team RedCat TR-MT8E BE6S. Shame if they are not available for the UK.
Qualifier, most durable RTR out of the box, among the larger ground control RC manufacturers (Technically RedCat doesn't manufacture but the do have parts manufactured to their specks.)
I am just going to say Traxxas is my favorite brand but I agree with Kevin just because you like a brand or an RC car from another one doesn’t mean it’s better it just means it’s better for you So I like Traxxas other people might like losi or arrma but do not bully people just because their opinion is different
I've got the Wltoys 12423, and I got it because it's bumper will absorb the impact unlike the 12428, it'll even backflip on a backflip board! The only problem I've had with it is it's back drive shaft is jamed! (I think with dirt) does anyone know how to take off the back drive shaft?

Hey kev. What esc do you prefer to run in the xmaxx for stunts? Cuz I know the max6 is a good esc but just curious how it fails for stunts like front flips with the way the brake/reverse setup is on the max6 how you have to double tap the throttle to get it to reverse etc
