I was thinking "this guy says the exact same thing on every interview" but then I realized that's the point. And it's a point he has been making for decades. He is unapologetically consistent.
Uh, yes. Because politics in the US has been corrupt for the entire time, the rich have been getting richer and the poor, poorer, the entire time, and NEITHER party has ever said "no" to endless wars. So yep, that IS the point. Nothing changes when neither party WANTS anything to change.

Because of his friendship with Joe Biden, he refused to attack Joe on ALL the many, many, MANY things about Biden's history he COULD have attacked Biden on (both legitimate, and political). He did attack Hillary somewhat, but never on the easy stuff at the time (like her criminal neglect over Top Secret material and putting it on her private and insecure email server). In fact, he said "I'm sick of hearing about your damn emails!" and Hillary cheered. After corrupt Hillary stole the primary from him (e.g., the entire DCCC was funded by the Hilary Victory Fund, and therefore screwed Bernie over by, for example, withholding his OWN email list from him), Bernie actually WORKED, tirelessly, for her - so much so that she wrote a thank you card personally to him. He literally gave more speeches for her than SHE gave! And yet, you say he works AGAINST democrats. I'm sorry, but your comment is incredibly ignorant. Sure, go ahead - don't trust a politician, that's understandable, but what you said is just provably wrong in every way. Bernie does more for Democrats than Democrats themselves do.
I'm sure he would be happy to change his points... if anything actually changed to address his points over the decades.

As someone from the outside looking in, I have to agree. Almost tempted to ask "If you don't want him, can we have him?" though I am afraid the voice of neo-liberalism is as unjustifiably loud (through money rather than number of voices) and obnoxious over here in the Netherlands as it is over there. Here too he'd probably never be given a real chance to effect change.
I am not sure if you missed the opportunity or if it was kept from you through how the DNC works or money in politics.

We dodged a bullet with him. Luckily rational people won out, rejecting Bernie, and voting for people like Hillary and Joe, who actually work to help people.
The whole point here is that Biden and Sanders are on the same team and have pushed for the same progressive goals. We didn’t miss anything.

I have a very limited tolerance for stupid people, so I'm just going to point out that you are quite literally trying to call my comments strawman arguments on a video where Bernie is riding the coattails of people who did work and he's trying to claim credible despite doing nothing. No, he did WORSE than nothing. He literally tried to inject the minimum wage hike into the American Rescue Plan that was what was originally holding the bill back and would've been far easier to pass by itself due to his ego. And when Democrats got a Build Back Better plan that Joe Manchin was on board with, Bernie fought against it. Yet here Bernie is, expecting credit for things he had no hand in helping get through.

Mr. Mittens was the most amazingly composed "Person who should have been president" there could have ever been.
He would, but he was too far left after an extreme right wing regime and got tagged as a socialist. Biden got elected because he was the right moderate for this moment in time. @@Justussonin 2016 and 2020, Bernie had the lead, if not was tied, for the nomination. Both years big media tended to play hardball with him and go easy on moderate Dems (Clinton, Biden etc), and in 2016 the head of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Shultz, had secret correspondence with the Clinton campaign to try and ensure she beat Sanders for the nomination, which isn’t allowed. She stepped down after her actions were discovered.
He is a well known and followed here in Canada as well, especially in Toronto.
My heart is full when I hear those cheers and chants for him. The Greatest American.

It really is awful what Manchin and Sinema did. We had a rare opportunity to make these transformative investments in affordable housing, child care, etc., as well as raising the minimum wage, expanding Medicare, and protecting civil liberties and union rights. It will be very difficult for the Democrats to hold the Senate in 2024, and even if we do, we'd have to hold the presidency and take back the House too. So who knows when the next chance will be to pass the Build Back Better priorities.

There are plenty of politicians that are pretty okay, and a lot that totally suck. Bernie is one of those rare ones I look forward to hearing speak. I wish he won the election years ago
Those child tax credits completely changed the footing of my family. My favorite moment resulting from those payments was when my teenage daughter asked if we could get orange juice when we were grocery shopping, and I WAS ABLE TO SAY YES!! And then, when she reached for the cheap store brand that had none of the pulp that we like so much, I stopped her and told her to get the name brand stuff that has a high pulp option. She was so excited and surprised and happy!
Raising children when you’re always having to say “No, I’m sorry, we can’t afford it,” and all the variations of that sentence, it wears down on both the children and on the parents. It was an incredible feeling when I was able to say yes to a spontaneous request at the grocery store for once.
Since those payments ended in January 2022 we fell right back down into poverty, and it sucks.
Sounds like you either shouldn't have had children or need to learn to live within your means.

That’s why “No, I’m sorry, we can’t afford it,” in all of its iterations, is practically our family motto. That’s why it completely took my daughter by surprise when I said yes to a spontaneous request in the grocery store. And that’s why a 14 year old would experience so much joy when told to pick the Tropicana instead of the store brand.

And that’s because we live within our means. Because we don’t buy name brand stuff, nor do we buy things like juice or soda or alcohol or basically any kind of beverage except for milk or water, which are the necessities for our family.
People have really grown comfortable showing open disdain and condescension towards poor people. It’s been growing more and more out in the open for the past few decades, equating low income to laziness, and claiming poor people must have reckless spending habits that the middle class will end up having to pay for, and all sorts of garbage about people sitting at home, collecting unemployment until then they start collecting welfare, etc etc. It’s all just ugliness, selfishness, ignorance and it’s simply a hatred of the poor. Saying that I shouldn’t have had kids? What a hateful, ignorant thing to say.

I am living (still barely) proof, of how devastating it was to not get that BBB passed! I have had a hole in my tooth nearly 2 years after a filling came out, and because a simple filling replacement is not an option, because they said a "nerve was exposed" & blah, blah, blah, they can't do what i really need. Meanwhile, every day that goes by, i feel a bit more pain, because the jagged edge that's been created keeps cutting into my tongue & i am constantly chewing on my cheeks to avoid doing worse things to deal. I have little doubt that i don't have some kind of low grade infection going on here, that will ultimately send me to the ER, (wasting even more of people's tax $$$)! Sure, my insurance will pay for me to have a bunch of tests on stuff i don't really even need all that much, but the ONE DAM thing that is actually causing me to suffer - and NADA! I voted for you EVERY time Bernie, but of course, capitalism got in the way of that!!

But she said to put some ground clove in a napkin or something that my saliva will help moisten & then just stick it in that area. Next time i get to the store, i'll get it. But of course, the extra federal food stamp assistance just ended this month, so it will also be cost prohibitive, but still a necessity!
I don't see how BBB would have changed that. Just go to the dentist and get it fixed.
