We have a Kuhn rake very similar to yours. I love it. I wish I could send some rain your way. Here in Northcentral Wisconsin we are getting plenty. Best of luck getting a little more before the growing season ends.
We got.35” this morning around 4 AM the 25th that puts me up to just shy of 1 inch so far in August but the Syracuse news shows 60% chance Thursday I hope we get at least another third of an inch or more that might save our soybeans corn is beyond help now
Thanks for showing the 4220th, I perfer the rotary rake over anything on the market. Doesn't rope it up and dry times are alot faster. Like to get a twin rotary rake someday to get in and out of the field's faster 👍
Does your rake rattle any when you pick it up? I bought a used Kubota single but it sounds like pto is going to fly apart when I raise it. What do u think?
I've been asked a question by a rabbit owner and i don't know the answer so wondered if you could help. Why does grass fermented when cut with a lawnmowers but doesn't when you cut with your tractor and cutter?
It all depends onbthe moisture of the grass. We can mow grass and chop it with the chopper and it will ferment in the silo because it has a higher moisture. When you bale you dont want to make wet bales so you get it as drybas possible. When people make baleage and wrap the round bales they bale them wet so they ferment inside the wrap
Thats some nice feed like you said. The cutter did a great job of shaving the ground. Do you like that cutter Mike? Looking for something like that. Take care
Do you or have you considered chopping your sweet corn stalks after it is picked and feeding that to the cows to get by on corn silage and reduce the haylage usage?
We did that today. Was just waiting to chop 3rd so i can swap tonthe corn head. Plus in the next video you will see some of the work i had to do tobthe chopper
When was this filmed we are hoping to get some rain its bonedry overhere looks like our 4th cutting is all gone but they say rain is on its way thanks Mike have a good day greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Trust me your second cutting looks heavy compared to what we got up here near Watertown area we bailed 240 acres and I don't think we got even 80 round bales
Mitchell's mining 2 yeah it’s like the Thruway was a cut off for rain this year south and east especially east got more north of the Thruway especially north it got ugly
How much rain did you get? I got almost 2 inches sunday between 3-6 pm. We had some high winds also. The leaves are starting to come off the thorn apple trees- falls approaching!!
@@mikep7810 do they ever video the milkings ? Do you no off hand if there is any farm equipment dealers in your area that would have a sickle bar mower to fit a ford 1520 three point hitch 540 p t. o. I no it probably would be big dollars to ship.
Hi Mike ........ Like your videos. From South Africa. [Springbok Rugby and BBQ country.]
Thank you Dawid. I'm gld you enjoy the videos. Gotta love some good BBQ!

Thanks Anthony. Hopefully we get some this week
I love that boy’s inquisitive nature. Enjoy that while you can . Great video as usual
Thank you Andy. Try to teach him what I can
Definitely take what you can from the fields, and hopefully you can sneak in one more cutting before the end of the season!
Im hoping we can get a couple more fields in before we start chopping corn
Mike, as always great video I love watching your videos.
Thank you David. I appreciate it
Another nice video... I love the way you talk with your son... not to him...
Thank you Herb

Hopefully the rain comes. Im nervous to see what yeilds will be this year

Thank you. Yeah after 1 full season I do like the rake. A double rotary rake would be really nice
Yeah they are expensive
Great video! Nice looking hay!
Thank you!
Nice looking hay we got one more Field to cut and then we are done with 2020 hay
we didn't even get a 3rd cut of alfalfa but we are thanking will be choping corn in about 2 weeks
Thank you. I think we have 2 more fields and we are done. We are about to start chopping corn too. Good luck with corn silage

No ours doesn't make noise like that when we raise or lower it. Its pretty smooth running
@@mikep7810 it runs smooth when raking so I usually don't pick it up but I didn't think it should sound like that when you do
That looks like alot of multitasking between the drone and trying to drive
Yeah it can get challenging
I hate the feeling of barely getting done before the rain comes.
It makes things more interesting. You are trying to do a good job and get the hay and then you add the raise against mother nature.
You sir, are making great videos.
Thank you i appreciate it. You are leaving some great comments!

Thank you. Yes I like the hw340 that we have. I have videos up mowing with it
@@mikep7810 Yeah I watch most of your videos. Was just wondering if toy would recommend it?
Great video, mike
Thank you Tara
About sickening with hay this year 58 acres and got 12 round bales this weekend
First cutting was great. 2nd cutting has been very disappointing

This was filmed a couple days ago
We've had the same problem here in central Massachusetts no rain second real thin , also how many head do you usually milk .
I think that problem is all over. We milk 50
@@mikep7810 ya 50 is a good number do you like the tie stall barn rather a a milking parlor .
The tie stall barn is alright. I see some of the positives. If I won the lottery I'd build a free stall barn
I've been playing the same numbers in the Massachusetts mega bucks lottery for over 40- years and they haven't come up yet . LoL
Great you got it just in time 👍
Thank you. That is always good
Trust me your second cutting looks heavy compared to what we got up here near Watertown area we bailed 240 acres and I don't think we got even 80 round bales
Ouch, not good
Yeah North of the Thruway sucks our corn looks rough it’ll be in my video Thursday some of it’s way worse than I thought it would be
@@TheGrumpyFarmer I'm getting the chopper ready to chop some corn. Combination of being short of corn silage and the corn drying out so bad
The corn up here is turning that purple color and shriveling up
Mitchell's mining 2 yeah it’s like the Thruway was a cut off for rain this year south and east especially east got more north of the Thruway especially north it got ugly
rains about everyday here cant get to the 3nd cutting
Wish it would spread out and hit here
How's it going Mike. I like how that rake fluffs the hay up. I think I'll have to put one on my wish list. Thumbs up. See ya on the next one
Thanks Scott. Definitely worth demoing one
Show some videos if u guys milking too etc !:)
I very rarely milk
More milking lol
Nice video do you ever think you’ll get a merger
I hope we can get our own some day
How much rain did you get? I got almost 2 inches sunday between 3-6 pm. We had some high winds also. The leaves are starting to come off the thorn apple trees- falls approaching!!
We only got a little bit when I got the wagons back but got more that night
Also I don't think I've seen any of your milking videos of you had any let me no thanks.
My dad or my brother does the milking

Thank you
That's why I like raking with a wheel rake in thin hay you can rake more together faster we got a 10 wheel my in laws have a 12 wheel they work great
I never used one of them...maybe someday
