I’ve been listening to Manic Hispanic for years. Like the first time I heard them was when I was ripping off of Napster back in like 1999 lol (sorry, yall). I live in Texas between San Antonio and El Paso where there is NOTHING and we don’t have much punk (and rarer even, ska) so the first time I heard it, it blew my wig back a few hundred yards. I kept up over the years, and now, 25 years and a lot of highs and lows later- I still get to enjoy listening to these foos. My Chicano friends and I still bump “I Wanna Be A Cholo” and get a lot of laughs, but ya’ll…. This song in particular is gonna bring the heat from all our more…ahem…”country” homies. 😂 Forever grateful for giving us misplaced weirdos something to hold on to and enjoy when it was pretty lonely. ❤️
