when you say sawasdeekaa, the K in kaa is NOT a hard K, a hard K makes the word kaa into "i kill you"... thumbs up #263 ... Sukumvit Soi 1 has some great cheap dining options
No body knows why Terminal 21 foods court so cheap the owner building didn’t charge for rent since beginning opened now 5-6 years later still free of charge richer people should be like this man : thanks you sir for making foods court cheap for every ones
Not completely true. The stall holders are charged a percentage of their takings.
They charged low percentage for sellers
My husband has been staying in Thailand almost 30 years. He loves Massamun Kai and Lab Mhoo Thod very much!
Phil is such a budget oriented person always and Deana is much more carefree. So a good mix together 😜
I wish I had Pier 21 near me. Such good quality Thai food for so little money. We ate lunch two days in a row there
We went to The Local too! We ate inside and damn, it was enormous. It was like a hike to get to our table
@@havisiting The Local is on my radar for when I'm in Bangkok in May.
Deanna, here's $10 to buy another Martini. Cheers! Thanks guys. Love your work.
haha Thank you so much, Barry! #tipsyDincoming
I would love to go to Bangkok. I love Thai food, but it’s all been Americanized. I want to try the real deal. Thanks for sharing!😊
It's nice to see you guys traveling outside of Europe again. Thailand is amazing! Definitely one of our favorite food countries.
Also, love how Deana is wasted at the end of the video. So good. 😂
You can tell how good a dish is by how emphatically Phil says "Dude". I really enjoy your videos.
Ah Bangkok... lived there for 7 years
Oh my gosh, Thailand has the best desserts you must try some of them. I’ve tried some of them myself, and I am in love with the desserts.
soooooo many delicious desserts! What is your favorite??
I love layer cake called khanom Chan and Luk chup
@@DeanaandPhil like your videos it’s very educational when you visit different countries around the globe
It nice seeing you in Thailand. My sister is in Thailand for a college semester abroad. She is enjoying herself.
I'll be in Thailand for the month of May 2023. Can't wait. Thai food in Thailand if nothing like it is in the US. My favorite places are Terminal 21, Soi 1 Sukhumvit (fish market street restaurant), Or Tor Kor Market, Ratchada Rod Fai Night Market, Boat Noodles near Victory Monument. On this trip I want to try some of the most famous restaurants: Jai Fai (crab omelet), Nahm, Prachak Pet Yang, The Local and maybe one of the famous hotel buffets.
@DeanaandPhil... Yea, right!
I'll be in BKK in May too, i'm going to try Jeh O Chula, Polo fried chicken and visit Jodd Fairs. + many more, 1st week is close to victory monument so boat noodles 😋
Ratchada Night market no longer exists, but many more popped up.
@@ZoeFungkhachorn I thought I read that Jodd Fairs was moving to that location.
I think both the cheap and midrange restaurants gave the best bang for the buck.
At the midrange restaurant there was the most amaizement regarding the flavours.
Interesting video👍
I love Thai food so delicious ❤
me too.
Can't wait to eat it all again! 😁
The thing I like apart from everything else about eating in Thailand, is that they adjust the spices/heat depending on the food. Fish dishes are usually not too hot, but they can go up to very hot on meat. Or not if you tell them (actually they usually ask, which is typical of Thai generosity). Pro tip: Fresh ginger settles the stomach very fast, and a lot of Thai restaurants serve that as standard.
You got a good choices here! Pier21 are one of the popular location for Thai/local that you can effort a good food with the cheap prices in the middle of Bangkok. The pork belly looks satisfy and I like how the owner are very delicate in every dish they made.
Btw, in Thailand we both have the restaurant with middle-higher price to charge you 7%VAT and 10% service charge, and the local/cheaper one that already told you a total price, both are normal here. However we don't expect every customers to give the tips, so it is totally fine either giving or not giving tips here.
OMG I just knew you guys came to Thailand! Glad you enjoy the food here, they are soooo good.
*Sending support from a fan from BKK💖*
Awesome video as usual, enjoy that food
Looks like a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing.
I'm really enjoying this video ☺️ looking forward to trying some of those places soon 😋
Thumbs up guys! Great stuff! More please!
Absolutely fabulous. I'm glad you're back in Thailand.
Amazing video you guys!
You should do flight reviews to and from Thailand too! Those kinds of videos usually get good stats 😊
Fantastic vid!! All the food looked amazing! Can you do a vid talking about where you’re staying, travel/accommodation prices and any challenges of going to Thailand now that we’re in 2023? 😃👍 Thx so much!! Looking forward to more!
The Thais barely put the chilli flakes on the rice dish; we use fresh chilli with fish sauce (Nam Pla Prik)
But we mostly put the chilli flakes in the noodles dishes and barely use the fresh chilli in the noodles dish.
In Thailand, people are only begining to pay attention to Michelin Stars, as with everywhere, the Michelin guide is for fancy fine dinning experience.
What is more established and well known to locals in Thailand is the Shell guide or "Shell Shuan Shim" (Shell invites to try), which is a mark for taste quality, and not restricted to fine dinning like Michelin. Even street food stores can get "Shell Shuan Shim" stamp of approval if their food is exceptional.
Such a great video!
Very nice episode of make you happy dishes!!
Great video and reviews! More Tipsy D, please! =)
Deana you're too funny, thinking that martini was something not normally drunk. I have to say the middle one looked the best, especially the pork belly, but it also looks like 21 had some really good looking options you didn't pick. It's always fun to watch your reviews, thanks for taking us along.
loved the video, do it again and again.
In 15 years visiting Thailand, my best surprises were always from street / markets food
MMMMM....that chicken curry looks amazing!! Love your videos, thank you
Pier 21 is really great value for money just a side note your first dish you actually had fish ball green curry in Thai it's "gang kiew wan pla-kry"
Wow..the food is amazing You made me drool in the middle of the night 😂 Great video dude.
Welcome to Thailand 🇹🇭 stay safe and have a wonderful trip 🥰
Enjoy your Vacarion in Thailand. Must say the Masssaman Curry at the last location looked very tasty and also the pork belly thing.
when you're back in europe, there's a big community of thai people in Antwerp, Belgium. A lot of casual thai restaurants here have high recommendations from the Gault Millau guide, which is similar to the Michelin guide I guess. But I do truly believe that thai food in Antwerp (not the chain restaurants but actual family owned restaurants, some are even in the Chinatown district of Antwerp) are really good and compatible to thai food in Thailand.
That Massaman has some mighty ingredients!
Oh thanks! Much appreciated insight!!
I hope one day you'll be able to go to South Korea, too. You probably won't be willing to leave though.
Great to see you back traveling. Me and my girlfriend are going to Phuket in 8 days.
Thank you. I love your video.
I am the same. When I go to see my family in Thailand. I live in Paknum Samutprakarn. I always go to Terminal 21 for food and a desert.
I would have rolled noodles(kuay-jub) for 29 baht and a sticky rice with ripe mango
for 35 baht. Total of 64 baht. For me it is £1.60.The table and seats there are very comfortable and you can sit there as long as you want and enjoy it. Nice and cool with AC.

Those cheap dishes looked like as if Thai restaurants in Germany would say " It's 15€"

Enjoy your stay in Thailand, best Food in the world, in my opinion
Love from Norway 👍
Please make more videos....! Cheers from Canada...
2:04 love the attention to research!
You can have the same appetizer with lotus petal for 1$ on stick with green leaf wrap
You can also get crispy pork belly pud-kaparoscopic around 2$
You guys make me really hungry 2:48 a.m. Germany, you are torture me 😂😂. Thank you so much for you guys like Thailand and Thai food. Safe traveling and enjoy your food. Thai pumkin is the best, I miss them a lot. Pad Grapaw with holy basil (bai kra pao) this leaves we use to put in the dish that doesn't have coconut milk and Thai basil (bai horapa) the ancient way we put in the dish that have coconut milk, they are different aroma. You can eat them all. Rice cake we call "Kao Tang Na Tang"
Klasse! LG
That Tom Yum Martini 🤤🍸
So cute when you said sawatdee kha!
We would go for the less expensive more home cooking style food too.. Looks yummy any which way though.
Fantastic all. Yummy Thai Food
Streetfood is the best there is
The medium priced place looked incredible.
I love the video
I go for the first time in 3 weeks and i cannot wait
Welcome to Thailand! 🙏🏻😃🇹🇭👏🏻👋🏻
I think it’s so interesting that one of the humid countries serves so much soup. My MS self could never. I’d have to just eat fruit all day :-) but I think it’s really cool and expensive way of putting food together
Mouth watering! 😮
Enjoy your travels Guys.
❤❤ That’s really remarkable.
Drinking on the job - lol. Cannot believe great dishes for not even a dollar (USD). Yum!
Huh this video is awesome 🤯! Meanwhile it would be my worst nightmare because I can't even stand the smell of lemongrass.. 😖😵 Edit: Ah and curry too 😕
Thank foryour promote my country ❤❤❤
Drinking game. Take a shot every time Phil says dude. Good luck 😄
Mostly American (-educated?) restaurant owners/managers that try the + tax + service game in Thailand in my experience.
Thanks for having us along with you. 👍❤️👍
I found this video just bcs I tried to learn German from Speak German only video.
But, I’m Thai who live in EU and now I miss Thai food so bad 🥺🥺
Yummy, I miss real Thai food
Sawadee krub welcome to Thailand! 🙏 7% VAT is charged by "fancier" and larger restaurants because they are a VAT registered company so need to keep proper accounts. Other places usually don't pay charge VAT coz it's built into the prices but more often it's because they don't pay any taxes especially the small Mom & Pop shops. 10% service charge is definitely BS. 😅
Terminal 21 is my favorite food court
Glad I’m able to enjoy this everyday. Said Byebye Switzerland 😂
Those are Lotus petals, rather. Lotus leaves are green and normally a plate size, guys. 😀
Terminal 21 is the best place to eat in Thailand i knew this like 5 years ago.
Please don't forget to taste Roast Duck Red Curry, Thai Cashew Chicken, Hunglei curry
Please update the prices since average the Thai food prices are B 50 until B 89 for basic Thai food.
I was wondering what is cheaper to eat out or cook in? probably depends on where you are?
Now i wanna go to Thailand ! lol
Thanks you
I would try everything ❤
You may want to try buffet in Thailand.
