Looks awesome to get to bike past so many historic sites. That looked challenging to carry the bikes up the steps and then ride up that step hill at the end of the day towards the campground.
Yes that was a rough hill for the end of a long day. The boys did well though and there were no complaints. It was our first full day riding so things got a little easier as we traveled westward.

Thanks Ken! You are correct there is a ton of history here and I can’t get enough of it. In researching the script I’m realizing how much I did know when I was there. Having a team of willing participants and even a friend who grabs video of me makes the job of filming the adventure much easier. I only have to stop and set up a tripod for videos where we are all in the same scene. Thanks as always and take care!
Wow this really does look like a lot of fun! Watching you across the Aqueducts was interesting in one shot you looked like you guys were riding your bikes on the edge. The towns were great and hearing all the backgrounds was fantastic so many old train depots and you captured trains. We appreciate your filming and editing setting up the cameras for the riding shots was fantastic! You also had some work to do navigating upstairs and across bridges. This really did look like an enjoyable adventure. You earned the pizza & wings! Looking forward to more. Great video well done! Good ending you smiled!!
@justramblinaround those aqueducts were some of my favorite parts of the canal towpath. I have an affinity for steel wheels on rails so I can’t help grabbing videos of trains and depots of course. You are right I should try to smile more. I’m often very serious in my videos. On this day I had so much fun it just slipped out. 😊

I was worried about hauling the bikes up the spiral stairs to the Harper's Ferry bridge. Turns out it wasn't actually that bad. It was the climb out of town to Bolivar Heights that we really should have been worried about. That one hurt! Of course, it turned out to only be the third hardest climb of the trip. Stay tuned to learn about the others.

Yes little did we know the worst was yet to come. When you think about 400 miles we really didn’t have too many complaints.
I live in Shepherdstown and hit that part of the C&O tow-path quite often (well, a bit north of that)
