As someone currently serving in the Royal Regiment of Scotland, it's great to see our brothers from across the pond embellish in the wonderfully shared history we have.
Cheers!
Man, I seriously love your channel rob, no one else does history like you do. This channel is a gem.
Very kind!
True.
Paper Cartridges and Cap and Ball are next close.
C&Rsenal are glorious in technical deep dive monographies of particular small arms.
Thank you Rob!

Must say I admire the red sashes leader Westover in telling the Viccy Rifles that they'd not be nicking his hard-won cannon. Spoils of war and all that. ^~^
Superb job McKenzie, now off to the cook house with you at the double. There's a mountain of spuds calling your name.
edit for my lapse in thought. 0~o
It was the Viccy Rifles from Montreal who tried to take the gun... Nope!
@@britishmuzzleloaders Ah, good to know. Thank you and the others for putting out this wonderful series on this often-forgotten border skirmish.
Your absolutely the best, thanks for telling Canadians about our history!
Cheers! It was a fun project!
Jean Plamondon really is a well known and respected figure in the Sherbrooke historical firearms community. I always receive great service and valuable information at P&S
His coming out for the project was an unexpected bonus!
I have the honor of being the current caretaker of the Canadian General service Medal named to Pte J. Brady, 3rd V.V.R. Thank you for filling in the details of the Battle of Eccles Hill, very interesting!
Wonderful!
Part 3 already! You treat us too well sir!
It's taken so long to get done... I thought that I should put it out a bit early.. .One more part to go!
Love the terrain overlays. Most illuminating. Thanks!
Glad you found them helpful!
These are a masterful series of videos! Thanks Rob!
Thank you. Team effort!
Another great video, watched it as I was cleaning my Snider.
Perfect!
Excellent!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very appropriate that you released this video on the day of the battle. Well done.
That was on purpose! 😀
Great quality - well done to everyone involved. I knew nothing about Eccles but you've made it completely clear how things unfolded.
Glad it was helpful! Cheers!
My eyes lit up when you mentioned Jean runs P&S. I bought my first rifle from him, an SMLE, many years ago. I still refer friends looking for historical rifles to his website!
It was really great to see this complete account of the battle, your video in 2021 was the first I'd heard of it!
I didn't t get a chance to meet him, but I am grateful for his lending of his time!
Excellent as always 👌
Thank you!
Part 3 so soon
Though it might be nice!
Great stuff with these episodes.
Thank you. It was a team effort.
Cant believe you managed to convince your friend to let you shoot at him! And what luck that he was entirely made of metal! But in all seriousness I was hoping youd make a video about this battle for this series!
Happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Sir, your team and you are doing amazing work keeping our history alive.
Thank you!
@@britishmuzzleloaders I know it's typical of UA-cam commenters to ask for more... But this type of weapon analysis combined with Canadian history is so amazing. More plz. Hahah
@@Synystr7 More to come in Part 4...
been watching your videos for a while, recently bought a 3 band mk2 snider at a militaria fair for £570. Watched your snider videos for help with markings as some are unclear. when i found the first two episodes of this, cant wait for episode 4!
Great! Part 4 will be out next.
Thanks for the great history lesson!
You are most welcome!
This is really well done and an interesting piece of Canadian history that Americans like me would not have ever heard of if not for these videos.
Thank you kindly. Glad you've enjoyed the series thus far!
Excellent work thank you!
Thank you V!
Great video
Cheers!
Man, this is so fascinating, excellent series!!!! Cheers bud, great job gents.
Glad you enjoyed it. The team did a great job.
@@britishmuzzleloaders Absolutely, very impressed and educated, thanks and cheers bud!!!!
Always entertaining AND informative!
Thank you!
Superbly done, the map makes it so clear! Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hopefully you see this on the 6th of June. I think you may be pleased the amount of coverage of the brave Canadians have received over here. I think that it's telling that the Prince of Wales spoke longer to your vets than truduea.
That is great news. You should have heard him at Vimy 100.... Same thing happened.
The day this channel gets to 100k subs will be a great day. Long over due. Been watching for nearly 10 years now. Keep up the great work Rob.
Maybe one day! Thanks!
TY-A great job on something I know nothing about, but is a part of our history which should be taught... Salute to you all, from a one time 3 PPCLI cdt.
Glad that you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Good morning from the socked in south Okanagan, thanks so much for all the work and research that went into this. It is, I believe, an important part but often overlooked part of our country's history.
Indeed overlooked.. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hooray! Part 3 is here. Many thanks, Sir!
Welcome!
What a great series!
Thank you!
Been looking forward to part three since, well part two of course. Happy memorial Day! Thank you to all the veterans for serving their country.
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
I only knew of the Mark III after reading Powers of Darkness.
Sure thing!
Wonderful details, graphics and explanation of the Battle of Eccles Hill. Your team is very knowledgeable and detailed. Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Thank you Rob for another wonderful episode!
You are most welcome!
You sir are one of a kind, hope you can keep doing what you are doing for many years to come!
Thank you. I hope 'one of a kind' in a good way...
@@britishmuzzleloaders yes of course, as in unique/extraordinaire!
An excellent series, Thank You.
Cheers!
Well done sir..absolutely excellent.
Very kind. Thank you!
Love your channel 😊
Thank you!
Great video n.III
Thank you!
Amazing work as always!
Question, at 27:18 in the photograph a man on the far right looks to be wearing a kepi cap with a distinctive cap badge. Any idea?
He's wearing a '61 Shako that's missing its tuft.... In better shape, it'd look like the one I'm wearing in the Chapter intros..
was it raining while you did this(ugh) nice job /
There are at least 10 different outings represented in this video... 😀 I'm sure that it was raining in at least one of them! Cheers!
you do a great job at this
I wonder what the Fenian comandor was sentence to, after his arrest ?
He was released... and took part in the 1871 Fenian incursion in Manitoba.
@@britishmuzzleloaderswhaaaaaaaat! This trial is rigged!
Love the "Fenian" steel! 😄 Nice group.
Haha!
Got here thanks to Mr. Jonathan Ferguson! :3
Good man, he is!
I can't read "the battle of Eccles hill" without immediately thinking 'they all fell in the water'
Haha!
As I cannot find a Baker Rifle 1800, I sent an email to Pedersoli, to ask them if the Baker Rifle 1800 was in their manufacturing project.
The response was this :
Dear Sir *********,
Thank you for your advice.
We'll be going out with a Baker rifle, flintlock, rifled, next year.
I will attach the photo of the original we purchased for study.
I don't have any other details at the moment, but when we are almost ready, we will send the news letter.
Sincerely,
Customer service
HIP HIP HIP ?!
Indeed! They have been working at it for a couple of years now. A great offering (I hope)!
@@britishmuzzleloaders HOURRA !
Excellent video! Thank you for keeping this history alive. Unfortunately, there won't be any government generated commemorative efforts under our current G** D*** Federal Liberals. Thank you, Rob and team!
Cheers! Team effort all round!
What is the difference between the Snider ammo and the Veedham ammo. As in bullet diameter and weight and powder charge.
While ostensibly "58" cal, it is still unclear what type of cartridge the Needham was intended for. Indeed they may have been made differently batch to batch..... .Part Four talks of some of the troubles (out soon)
When your "General" gets arrested by a US Marshal in the mist of battle 😂
Yup.
Oh boy.fantastic it’s carrying on.I had so many questions….just would love this in-depth on the nz land wars…..surly there is a book ,,,,on the women killed getting water from the well.Best regards from nz.
There will be one final part... Your questions were?
BATTLE OF ECCLES HILL:
Americans: Wait, how many times did we invade Canada?
FURTHER INFO: "Across the Chickabiddy Creek..."
Americans: Ok, now he's just making things up....
Haha!

Thank you.
The Canadians are now cowed and disarmed. The Irish are still disunified.
The world is a funny place...
