Well, since New England is my fav region in the US (especially because I live there) and I’ve been watching this man quite literally my entire life this is definitely a great one.
Shout out to Boston Mass! I live not far from there and I see the T go by my high school every day! The Acela is one of my favorite trains, I went to new york on it when I was a kid! Great video!
This brought back some memories to this Brit of a terrific holiday (vacation) in Boston and New England. In The Fall of course! About 5 years ago now and I took the train up from Boston to Albany and Syracuse on my way to meet old friends and 'do' Niagara Falls and a short visit to Canada. Fabulous scenery and for once I was glad the train took its time along those river valleys. Some bumpy old track into one stop where we had time to get off and mooch around as we did at Albany. Great countryside and great friendly people....
This last weekend, I rode the Fitchburg line, between Waltham and Boston North Station. It had three intermediate stops. I could have alighted at Porter Station to connect to the red line. The Waltham station layout is such that there is only one track, but the outbound and inbound platforms are separated by a cross street, but are on the same side of the track. To expand the station, would require demolition of adjacent buildings. Brandeis/Roberts appears as more "conventional" with two tracks and opposing side platforms. Amtrak's Downeaster that goes to Brunswick, Maine, from Boston North, shares tracks with the Haverhill line, and stops at Malden Center.
You know that CSX is not a New England train but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😀😀😀😀😁😁😁
Too much reality Television and not enough studying. Christ, immigrant, seeking citizenship are know more about the US and it's history then a lot of US citizens.
Because the amtrak train was Amtrak's high speed service called the Acela. The MBTA train is just a commuter train so its speed are meant to be a bit slower.
CSX has a lot of operations in New England. They own the old Boston and Albany line, Huge intermodal facility in Worcester, yard in Readville outside Boston with local customers. And they are about to buy Pan Am.
@@NortheastCorridorFilms no it is not. Amtrak is owned by the U.S government. The MBTA is not and is run by the state of Massachusetts. Amtrak owns the northeast corridor and its tracks which is why the mbta runs on those tracks. But they are both separate companies
If you ever come back to New England, I recommend seeing the Housatonic Railroad. There's a lot of great scenery around it and plenty of great shots + nifty yellow-and-green locomotives.
It was during a steam excursion for the ATSF 3751, the P42DC was just there to supply head-end power and dynamic braking, so, not really pulling an Amtrak. I think it's in San Diego because that's where the Coaster is.
"Transportation." Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. All MBTA commuter trains use purple with a black T as you see. MBTA also runs light rail, metro, and bus rapid transit. Different colors are used for the Green, Red, Orange, Blue, and Silver lines.

The reason the train is tilting at 1:44 is because its on a high speed line that the Acela uses.
Cool!
which is on the acela mainline

The MBTA pulling into the station at 1:54 seems to be defying gravity. How is it not falling off the tracks due to it's bank angle?
No the weight of the train keeps it on I think
When a track banks, all the energy from the trains speed gets pushed down onto the track. Keeping it on the track and not sideways on the ground.
TommyTom21 that and also the amount of tractive effort the train has.
Seemed to have had a very productive time out their, Nice catches Mike
