K C, I agree. I advise others to not get in a relationship with someone who had a kid with a previous partner unless you’re prepared for the drama that comes with it.

Everybody keeps saying the girlfriend is selfish but she’s literally there for her and her baby. Plus, he’s expressed wanting to still be with her. But she has to be the bigger person and be respectful. Confessing your feelings to someone else’s significant other knowing they’re in a relationship isn’t respectful and will make for a toxic co-parenting situation for everybody.

In my opinion, it’s about how she’s handling her issues. Yes, she does react how a typical 17-18 year old would. She is quick to react emotionally when things get difficult or frustrating to her, doesn’t want to listen, etc. but afterwards she’s usually able to see where she goes wrong once she’s calm and able to reflect on the situation logically. And the fact that she is aware and takes initiative to change it, apologize, etc. shows that she is mature in that aspect and is striving to be better.
I know , she has issues no doubt about that but I don't expect much for a 17-18 year old child

A lot of people don’t understand how it feels to be a step parent. It’s a hard asf job, watching the bio parents and not knowing if they are actually playing you. Feeling like you don’t know how to express yourself. The children saying mean remarks because they hear it from their bitter parent. Many people look over the step parent role.
I was 20 yrs old when I met my childrens father, he was 40. I helped raise 4 of his kids. It can only be done with pure love for the children and a good self esteem to survive toxic bm’s/bd’s. These kids are in an adult world and I applaud them. 🙌🏾

I'm a step mom. Took a looong time for me to get over myself and finally my son's mom and I are good. Bc I realized one day that me being bitter towards her for the choices she makes and the things she's done isn't going to benefit my kid. If I let him see all the ways she messed up, if I trash talked her to him, he would end up resenting me and plus, she is literally half of him. Step parenting is hard but if you can't put the child first and love them as your own while encouraging love from others (like their bio parents) then please don't do it at all.

I feel like these two shouldn't be in a romantic relationship but a platonic friendship. they seem happier not being in a relationship cause there is less strings attached, high expectations, and they both seem to have a hard time expressing themselves which sadly triggers one another off. its like watching a tennis match at times with them.
