These guys are true music fans no doubt about it with impeccable taste!
Great taste. I want to learn Harmonica and Paul Butterfield, Little Walter and Kim Wilson from the Fab Thuderbirds are the guys.
As a black person…it’s fuckin amazing to see how man black musicians they like mainly because I love these guys so much…I guess I shouldn’t be surprised cuz when they were younger the world wasn’t as cruel as it is now…I hope they have a nice day and many more to come
They grew up in Helsinki during a time when society was not particularly tolerant of anything that deviated from the norm. But when they became rock stars, they suddenly became role models. But they are really nice, tolerant, intelligent people.
@@dennislindqvist8443 cool thanks for the info.
Europe was much kinder to black people than the US so many black musicians - Marian Anderson, Jimi Hendrix to name just a few went to UK, France, and rest of Europe to perform and/or live
Without these guys. No gnr no motley crue no L A guns pretty much the sunset strip scene...!
...and in a very sad twist of fate--to put it quite mildly--Motley Crue's Vince Neil was the drunk driver behind the wheel while Hanoi's Razzle was in the death seat; personally I think Vince got a slap on the wrist as far as jail time. If you ever saw the video "Hard and Heavy," Michael promoted his "Dead, Jail or Rock n' Roll" video, also mentioning his reluctance to reunite Hanoi Rocks at the time; he'd quoted, "You can't put your arms around a memory." I don't know exactly what happened from then until this video but it seems like Michael and Sami had somewhat come to terms with Razzle's death. I think there was a reunion, or some of the surviving Hanoi Rocks members reunited briefly, but I could be wrong on this. Nevertheless, it was great to watch this video because during the late 1980s, Michael had this "don't go there" approach when asked about the possibility of reuniting Hanoi Rocks; it was obvious that Razzle's death took quite a toll on him.
van halen .......van halen fue el.puntapie de esa movida .....no hanoi rocks
@@glamgal7106 The reborn Hanoi Rocks(they made sure to not be called a "Reunion") made 3 albums 2002-2007, 12 Shots on the Rocks, Another Hostile Takeover and Street Poetry. Original members were Andy & Michael.
Amen, man!
I don't even wanna listen to those albums, their boths solo tuff is much better.
I like those guys they are so unpretentious...refreshing in an industry full of oversized heads and egos.
M.r. Moon glam rockers were never pretentious. Just see sabastian Bach interview he's an interesting cat. Unlike those pretentious 90's douche
well they are finnish so
@@alejandrocisneros7442 '90s band are not pretentious either. It's just different eras. You don't consider yourself a Rock & METAL fan if you are looking for goodie-2-shoes personality rather than their music. ✌
@@alejandrocisneros7442 It was the exact opposite and that's why the "grunge" movement happened. People were tired of pretentious glam rockers trying to look cool.
they never reach the level of stardom that would allow them to be pretentious.
second, they are old farts, they peaked in the mid 80s. you mellow out as you get older.
“Hey, I’m Michael and I’m beautiful.” Amazing, I love these two, make me wheeze
I have to admit that I didn't know much about Hanoi Rocks other than the obvious about Razzle. Recently a great friend introduced me to more of their music and now I can't stop listening! You guys really rock thank you so much for the awesome music! Rock on!
"Without Chuck Berry, we would be doing polka right now.." :D
Bullshit
@@cornstar1253 Polka is TOTALLY DIFFERENT ! You Cant Compare POLKA to BULLSHIT !
Pity!
These mentally deficient junkies think all rock music started with one man and like all Scandinavians they obsess over blacks … maybe we would be better off with polka
Michael Monroe rocks!
so ahead of their time!!pity it fucked up after razzle died.I used to hate motley crue for that!!don't now!!
don't hate Mötley Crüe for it, hate Vince Neil. he is the jackass who killed Razzle.
Marilyn is so cute sans makeup but i do adore the stage makeup
@@bobbyheron6749 I know i'm a bit late, but just think how big they could have been if it wasn't for Razzle's death!
He's seriously hot though.
I think I would jump out of my skin if I walked in and saw Michael and Sami...they are great musicians. They really left a mark in rock history.
so awesome to see musicians who still love music so much. It's awful when i hear professional musicians say "i fucking never listen to music. music's my job. it's like someone coming home from work and having to talk about work all evening as well."
They say that because they get tired of music
i live in the same city as michael. i see him riding his bike and grocery shopping once in a while. its very funny
Where?
@@guillembauza1658 mogadishu
When i see these clips it always blows my mind how little i know about music!!
Monroe lived upstairs from us on E. 3rd Street in the LES, he crashed my 40th b'day party with his girlfriend. ;)
I remmber someone telling me that Michael lived in Greenwich Village--that area would be considered part of it--when I saw him perform at this club called the Grand at around 1992 or 1993....one of the best concerts I've ever attended! I was practically on top of the stage...Michael came within inches of my face quite a number of times.
GlamGal 710
How fun!! Yes, they lived on the lower east side. I’ve stayed over Sami’s several times. It’s too bad Sami left the band and went onto an extremely ordinary boring path with a female singer who looks like a midwestern girl whose a wannabe rocker with no real talent. It shows cause they never made it like Michael Monroe’s band. It’s sad when talented ppl with a great formula split up. When you’ve got it, don’t let it go. U stay grateful. The recipe to success is the right formula. They had it and let it go. It’s like the Stones, they knew not to ever split and r still clocking dollars. The female singer and that other vibe is and was always tired. So last century. Do you know what Michael is doing now? And Sami for that matter?
Donal Callum That’s funny! He was like that! Spontaneous kool guy. I’ve stayed at Sami’s place on the lower east side several times.
@@glamgal7106 I went to a few of those Monday night residency shows at The Grand too - right up front, waist-level stage, nothing like it!
They look happy and healthy 👍😁
Monroe, Yafa, McCoy, Razzle, Super hero status!!!!
Don't leave out Nasty!
Used to know Razzle very well right from his Fuck Pigs and Demon Preacher days remember when ho got offered the gig with Hanoi Rocks he was playing for the UK punk band The Dark at the time. I have always played guitar since a young teenager I still lived at home at my dads I remember Razzle and Nasty visiting one time with my close mate Adam and playing my guitar plugged into a Leo valve practice amp raving about the sound of it. Thinking back now how surreal was this
@@TheFairway8omg!! anything you can tell us about his character?
These guys rule! They dropped some serious knowledge.
You just knew these 2 would have unbelievably eclectic picks due to their incredible musical taste. Real fans!!
NICE TO SEE THE HANOI BOYS ARE STILL KICKIN, HEAVY METAL REVIVAL!!!
This might be the best Hanoi video of all time!
Damn, these guys are so cultured in music!!! How the f have I not listened to HR sooner??!!!
Michael Monroe is such a person! I never get tired of watching his interviews etc. Such massive musical knowledge as well. Everybody should get to know who Michael Monroe and Hanoi Rocks is.
These guys surprised me with their choices. Much respect!
I love these two guys! Hanoi Rocks ROCKS!
Legends Right There!
I’m discovering so much thanks to these dudes. It’s obvious that music is a big love of theirs. 🖤
What a couple of really Nice guys.
Love them both.
Michael is so freaking awesome,so funny too, both very talented,Hanoi Rocks forever ♥
I was so much fun to get to know Michael and Sami favorite music in this video and I did think these guys really loving the music
Giving props to Little Walter- these guys know what time it is.
Awesome guys
I love their choices. I grew up in a house where Chuck Berry and CCR was played a lot. Along with Golden Earring.
Both Michael and Sami look great! I can't help but notice that neither of them have any trace of a Finnish accent when they speak...I guess they've been in the USA long enough.
What are you talking about, they still have extremely thick accents.
They definitely have accents, not the most traditional Finnish ones but still accents
@@LGAussie They're not scandinavians. Learn geography instead of driveling about things you apparently know nothing about.
@@LGAussie You're right, Scandinavian or Nordic is just a term. If you know Sami, just congratulations, he seems to be a good guy. And most British people too. Take care.
Dennis Lindqvist Yeah, Sami is a real nice guy, straight up, no bs, but he’s got bad taste in women. It seems women can rule him. He used to live in the East Village in Manhattan. He was convinced by a female gf to allow him to let her sing in his new band. She has no talent but he liked her as a gf. I think that was his musical downfall. I’m not sure he made that much money that way. He should have stayed with his original band. He would have been more successful.
I am a huge Hanoi Rocks fan, and now I also love Alemu Aga. Amazing, amazing.
love Sami ❤💙💖
These men love their funk!
Cool dudes. I've watched all these videos and this series is the best way to hear musicians talk about music.
i feel so ignorant ¬¬
you could learn A LOT of music in an hour talk with this guys
Thanks for sharing. Made me want to listen to Hanoi Rocks and Nazareth. I'm going to be entertained for a while now!
I love him.
good taste in tunes
And Sam plays bass on New York Dolls 😎
Brother from another mother, Sami Yaffa :D
That was fantastic. Fun, informative, and gave me a few things to purchase. Thanks!
Really Great Choices on this list. Micheal Monroe bleeds Rock and Roll!🤟🏼🥀🍾🥂
it was an early morning on a school day in1983 that I saw Boulevard of Broken Dreams and well it totally impressed a high school senior, and Damn I miss Hanoi Rocks - IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN VINCE!!!
two of a kind ,but both classy !!!
The greatest Rock N' Roll frontman of all time.
Michael Monroe REALLY makes Vince Neil look baaaaad. Lol
The coolest hair in Rock & Roll 🤘🏻 Always great music too....punk, glam, harp, &....wait for it.....one of a kind.....SAXOPHONE 🎷
Thanks for the music & the memories ✌🏻
love these guys - I'm checking out some Ethiopian music today. Also recommended by Paul Weller's bag
All of us could, I guess - music is not only their profession but also their passion, so of course they know anything
GREAT!
A Classic!
Monroe now looks like someone's chainsmoking eccentric mother XD
And she’s like a total sweetheart and gives you heaps of treats and stuff.
I really love Michael
I love your music taste 😉
Little Feat...awesome!
Undisputed Truth.....good call. LKJ.....VERY good call.
1:00 Juliana Hatfield (nude on the record cover of "There's Always Another Girl") in the background to the right.. An indie rock favorite with roots stemming in Finland, just like the guys. Check her out, you won't be disappointed!
"Sensory Overdrive" is a must have record by Michael Monroe!!
Yeah, the 1970s was a pretty corporate except for punk. Funk, was very underground therefore, very creative and very good.
Great guys with great taste.
I was at their show one time and they were so good I was like 3:13
This is awesome
MIKE>>>
After Mango, Michael Monroe is my favorite Chris Kattan character.
I love music shops like that. It's the place to be..
i know chris kattan in a wig when i see it.
LMAO
That is the funniest shit I ever heard. Spot on too.
LOL....first time I saw Kattan doing Roth on SNL I said man he could play a perfect M Monroe!
Ha!
Hahaha, oh man
Michael and Sami, will you guys re-releasing your albums like remastered for something someday? It's hard to buy brand new Hanoi Rocks through Amazon US, Japan or UK. Some new albums are just too expensive.
Guys of my most beloved band made me feel I pretty much don't know shit about music. Ouch... :]
Samy "kaputt! And we were doing polka right now"
true specialists give some nice advices on basics
Guys, please release some awesome, complete, perfect compilation albums. 2 or 3 disc set. Can't buy any new ones,. Some are too expensive.
I come from the future with good news, lol. The entire Hanoi back catalog box set was just released in September on Cleopatra records.
Great picks. Nina Blackwood vibes.
R.I.P. Amoeba... R.I.P. Tower Records...
Two cool dudes!
LOL sooner or later they all come to Omoeba cool sounds they both picked up :)
Huhhuh, heittämällä paras musiikin ja rockin oppitunti mitä oon hetkeen nähny!
How do they get these guys to come into amoeba?
I like music, don't play, but I like this a lot. Don't fuck it up.
It really is interesting hearing what the musicians, some of which I have never heard of, think of and listen to music
keep up the great work amoeba
Didn't Vincessa Neal kill the drummer from these guyses band?
Yeah he did.
yeah, razzle:(
@@totuudentorvi6769 you mean "she"...
I love monroe
That Nazareth album "Big Dogz" is great. Give it a listen.
If Goldie Hawn and Chris Kattan had a kid, it would be, without a doubt, Michael!!
🤣
Martin Doll Spot on, right?!! U know it. 🤣👍🏻👍🏻
MM give it up for Little Walter and Chess.
No New york dolls???
Thier biggest inspiration
Sami played in the band
I fucking love Michael Monroe 😂
Sami doesn't fuckin' age does he?
Razzle wanted to form a new band with Sami. Michael pretty much wanted out. Andy McCoy was pretty much the dictator of that band with the huge ego. Michael now writes his own songs. Andy only wanted his own songs on Hanoi records. He even named each of the members besides Razzle
go johnny go
元気そうで何より、今61…?こんなオッサンになりたいわ
Music is air too these guys... their enjoying life- been there done that, lucky too be alive probably a hod yoga workout meditation and steam bath before nie nies...
Didnt know AXLs "special voice" was directly influenced by from nazareth...
^^the temtations
Where do get that kinda bracelet that Michael has on his right hand (Shiny silver one)
🤘🖤
Dammit, where the hell is Part 2 of this?!?!?
Why is my auntie Carol in this video titled “ what’s in my bag”?.....
🤔😂🤣
ANYBODY CAN TELL, WHICH STORE ARE THEY IN?????!!!!!!!!........
i believe its amoeba music on hollywood blvd !
Don't you know Goldie's his mom, and David Lee Roth's his dad?! Seriously...
Mats Nyman
Of course!! Everyone knows that! 🤪
Mats Nyman And Chris Kattan is his twin?!
Rob Zombie gets all made up to look scary & i like his style it looks cool, but Monroe's look is a thousand times more savage and more terrifying.
He's doesn't look "savage" or "terrifying" at all and he's not trying to..he just aged. He still has his usual look but just toned down the hair, makeup, and clothes. When he was young, he was very beautiful and had the glam look. His youthful good looks are gone, but that happens to everyone eventually.
Michael Monroe best Taste
These guys were Poison before Poison was Poison.
