You guys touch on it but never actually call it out. IMO the most valuable take away I got from the Corps was those 11 principals and 14 traits of leadership. Regardless of your MOS and how that transfers over to civilian life every Marine knows how to be a leader and just as important knows how to recognize a good leader. Having that under your hat is invaluable. I've been out over 30 years and I still use that every day.
Really liked the video Kagan as well as the Lt, interviewing other officers and their respective MOS's would really be nice to see considering the general lack of info. Seeing the paths towards joining the fleet is really interesting and even more interesting is the on-the-job actions being asked of them! Thank you again.
They gave the Marines the 60 MM mortar? Really, Kool! I really like this one for the infantry. If you could mount it on a light weight wheeled vehicle. The hummer would have been good for this, but as they have been, or will be, retired I'm not sure what would be a good substitute. The reason I like this is simply ammunition capacity. The vehicle has a lot more of this than a couple of Marines...
I am he (interested in becoming an 0302, currently a sgt in the reserves reenlisting but active duty) still got 2 more years of college but I know where I’m headed.
Tell me that your guest has been lost a bunch of times in the woods without telling me that he's been lost a bunch of times in the woods. Oh he's a second lieutenant..
Great guest, its on thing to be a marine, its a whole new ballgame to lead marines.
That’s a fact

I think that’s valuable and I’ll try to find a way to integrate that into an upcoming one

That is 100% the plan going forward, just takes time to do it because I’m paying for all of it out of pocket hahah but I’m gonna do it

Are there ever any joint officer-enlisted basic training events? Like where the officer trainees get to have practice leading the enlisted recruits?
In the Army there is. Did it while I was at BOLC.

When I was doing basic at Benning we were doing land nav and got lost. We ran into an ocs candidate that was lost. Does that count?
