Nice start unit , are the LEDs full spectrum, and while in design stage if you have this unit controlled by smart phone then add a water level monitor -love the idea of LEDs coming on slowly like sunrise
You are beyond absolutely AMAZING!!!! This is fabulous!!!!!! I wish you sold them!!! I saw Kang Starr uses one you made him haha how do I become your friend 🤣
I'm not a technical person chris, but I would enjoy watching a video on how you made this unit, there's a show called HOW IT'S MADE that I watch, it's everything from candy to machinery and more.
I am a retired clinical biochemist interested in hydroponics, which is simple enough except for the electronics necessary for LED lighting. I need additional technical information on making the LED panels and necessary power supply if possible. tack så mycket
I am so much interested in this project. I found this vedio much more inspirational. A vedios with technical details please! 🙏Specially I want to know about how to make that Led grow light.
wow thats an amazing hydroponic kit.. im interrested to test it myself,,.I am imagining, growing salads or lettuces and put that thing on our dining table
Crazy skill set to put that together! Currently, we have 100's of non-AeroGarden units for sale, but you surpassed their quality on your first garden! I like the results that Khang Starr got with your garden unit.
Hi Chris I love your garden and your projects they are amazing , i was so impressed i subscribed your channel i would like to learn a lot from you. is it possible to share the design for your mini hydroponic system it is so beautiful design
Yes a video with technical details please! Just found you in UA-cam Land! I find you to be fascinating and inspirational. Def different than other channel I've seen... in a good way. New subby right here! :0)
..wondering about power consumption overall...looks great for starting seeds... and salad greens....there gonna love it any plant would...the air stone foggier is good...your onto something... ...love your hydro trees...poor banana pups they do have to go ...imo...bet the would love a self watering wicked pot...use cotton rope wick tho...
The grow room is looking fantastic Christopher ... and I'm really impressed with your work on the 3D printer ... Way to Go Bro that turned out really well. I've been playing with 3D printers for a little while now and think they are really cool technology and now even reasonably priced enough so the average Joe can easily afford one. I have been printing various models that a artist sells online and it's amazing watching and then assembling the pieces to make a model, it's almost like bringing your creation to life ... I'll just have to learn to paint them ... lol ... anyway good to see you my friend .. as always and take care ;)
3D printing is SO MUCH FUN! I just love to be able to create whatever I need. There is so many uses for it if you are creative. This is also such a fun project. If you ever want the files for this build, just let me know. :-)
@@ChristopherBrandsdal ... I would love to print the aerogarden you created my friend, thank-you very much for the offer. I would enjoy some more technical vids on how you made it and feel like I have a hundred questions .. lol .. and would like to share another project I want to start working on. Did you use a Raspberry Pi to make the controller board? .. and it's very interesting that you could get the led panel made for you and then you could just program it. You mentioned that it's Wi-Fi so you also wrote some software to be the controller? You spent lots of time and energy working on you project and I'd be happy to pay for your design and to maybe help with future projects, because I know nothing is free, and you probably spent some money on filament alone just perfecting everything ;-) I will send you a msg on Facebook with my email Christopher and we can continue sharing ideas about these projects. Take Care my friend, and talk with you again soon :)
Hehe, i was thinking that light would kill off the salads before you said it. Salads usually like it around 200PAR and i'm guessing from your light and height you are reaching somewhere around 1000-2000!
Haha yes! Given what I know by the other lights I have with distance I would think it outputs well over 1000 at low hight. Would love to have a meter to test it and tune it.
Great video as usual Chris, it is always great to watch your videos, pleasent time and a crazy project 🤪🤣 I just bought one of this blue barrels to try pepper in it instead of the 5G buckets, any advice? Also, where did you get the fresh coffee beans from? I am in Canada and we only have them brewed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh, the only thing I found with peppers in water is that I need to change the water often. The PH drops very fast, and it's easy to get root rot. As for the coffee, I got this as a tiny plant. I also tend to dring the beans I can get a hold on hahaha. I think you can get fresh berries online in season, but have not tried yet.
Very nice. The one thing I'd do differently is making it way bigger, which I guess you wouldn't be able to print with a 3D printer, would you? I currently have a big 27 gallon square tub, the kind you can pick up from your big box store for $10 and have kale growing out of it. I'm doing it because I'm new to hydroponics. It's the summer here and I don't need this yet, but want to gain experience. I'd LOVE to be able to grow a tree indoors. Specifically, an avocado tree. I'm not even sure if that's possible.
This is very cool. I have a Click&Grow (which I love) but I have been searching for one like yours, where I can grow bell peppers and I can extend the "arm" very high, since bell pepper plants get pretty tall, and just one plant instead of 3 or more fighting for space. I wonder if one could use Raspberry Pi to make a hydroponic/aero garden 🤔 (sorry, I don't know the terms)
I will definitly try a peeper soon in this one. Will be fun to see how that goes. Sure you could use a raspberry pi for that. I use custom made controller board based on the samd21.
Lovely project :) Did you consider coating the inside with food safe epoxy? Or do you reckon there won’t be any health issues with the plastic as it is? PLA and PETG should both be safe in their basic form, but you never know what additives they use for coloring and other effects. The uneven surface of an untreated 3D print might also attract a lot of unwanted growth.
little idea scale that up in size and open your market to specialized horticulture they would love the opportunity to grow with you ( side note lm301bs and you will sell every last one you could print) happy growing my friend
Any plans on sharing the .stl files? I would love to print this. Also, do you have a link to the led panels?

@@ChristopherBrandsdal well if and when you decide to sell them trust me when I say you have people lined up!!!!!!!! 😊
This is impressive, way better and effective than what I've seen on the market.

It works perfect for salads! I did grow try that and it turned out great!
Khang Starr just released his video about your gift to him. I’m impressed!
Thank you so much! :-)
No way that's so cool! I found you over at the Urban Gardener channel. 🙋♀️
Awesome! Thank you!
Do the roots hang in the air like the Aerogarden? Nice design.

Thanks! So sorry for just finding your comment now.
never thought that guava does grow in hydroponics. even the Banana and Coffee all are amazing
I wanted to play around with hydro, and there is more to come this season. Trees grow incredibly well in water it seems.
It’s great to get a peek at what you’ve been up to.
Nice and all healthy. I planted yesterday, ginger buds.
You have very beautiful plants.
Thank you so much!
Amazing build! What an inspiration… It’s an Incredible project you did…
Yes to all of the things you asked if we wanted to see 🌱
More coming your way! :-)

I will test the consumption at a later stage. It would be great for seedstarting a smaller batch of plants!

Really cool. How did you make the light panel?
I designed it in Eagle, got the PCBs printed in China, and soldered everything here in my lab

Not planning to do anything at all. Will be fun to see how it works over a few months. I use PETG since PLA would just not work with water.
do you know Real Plants grow in Dirty Dirt?
How did you make the 3D print container water tight? You must be very sure of it when having electronics below it!
I saw a different video where a guy used a paint-on resin on the inside to water-seal a 3D print.
It took me many iterations and failed prints to get it tight. I every version was filled with water and tested for three weeks. 🙂
@@ChristopherBrandsdal yes, and what was your final conclusion to make it water tight?
@@jimmyhumusic Enough layers, and over extruding
Hi, I saw your project on printables, and I would like to print it, the support for the telelscope connected to the base is missing
Brilliant🤩
:-D
Links to the STL?
Not for now. I might open source the project later.
Be careful when you do o you don't get copyrighted. I wouldn't make reference to the inspiration for your home hydroponic self contained grow station
Where did you buy the super dwarf banana and coffee from? I would love to start growing those. Great video by the way
I got them from a greenhouse chain here in Norway. Can't get fresh seeds here.
little idea scale that up in size and open your market to specialized horticulture they would love the opportunity to grow with you ( side note lm301bs and you will sell every last one you could print) happy growing my friend
It does use lm301b diodes. 🙂
so it is box with aquarium air pump. you could use $3 box from walmart/ real AeroGarden is drip system,
Hahahaha! Don't drop the soap!
Hi Chris can you share your design in thingiverse please i would like to print this i love this design
Did you ever share the stl files?
yes I did on www.prusaprinters.org/prints
Would love to know how to make this
I might do a more detailed video on it if people are interested. :-)
Have you 3d printed your aerogarden? If yes then what is the material so as it holds water?
Yes I have. PETG.
Are you selling this?
Banish all evil ✨
Can you make me one
Aside from Swedish and English: what other languages can you write? 😝🍺😂👍
Also, I hope the wife-y isn't in complete control (just mostly😂)
I'm Norwegian! :-) I can some German. But not very well. :-)
@@ChristopherBrandsdal what about computer programming languages 😜
Stl? Lol
Would you be willing to sell one? I’d rather give you my business than the billion dollar Corp miracle grow is.
without the technical details and .stl files it's just clickbait and bragging. 👎
While enjoyed looking at your beautiful model, how does this help me? I thought you were going to be selling them.
